1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	1 E il Signore mi parlò e mi disse:
2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,	2 « Figlio dell'uomo, fa conoscere a Gerusalemme le sue abominazioni,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.	3 e di': Così parla il Signore Dio a Gerusalemme: Per origine e per nascita sei della terra di Canaan: tuo padre è l'Amorreo, tua madre è Cetea.
4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.	4 Quando nascesti, il giorno in cui venisti alla luce, non ti fu tagliato l'ombelico, non fosti lavata con acqua salutare, non aspersa di sale, non involta in fasce.
5 None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.	5 Nessun occhio ebbe pietà di te, da farti una di queste cose, ma fosti gettata per terra, con disprezzo della tua vita, il giorno che nascesti.
6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.	6 Ma io passandoti vicino e vedendoti calpestata nel tuo sangue, ti dissi, mentre eri nel tuo sangue: « Vivi — ti dissi — anche immersa nel tuo sangue, vivi! »
7 I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.	7 Ti feci crescere come l'erba del campo, e crescesti e divenisti grande, ed entrasti (nell'età di prendere) gli ornamenti femminili, il tuo petto crebbe ed arrivasti alla pubertà: eri nuda e piena di vergogna.
8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.	8 Ed io ti passai vicino e ti vidi, e venuto il tuo tempo, il tempo degli amanti, io stesi il mio manto sopra di te e copersi la tua nudità e ti feci un giuramento, e feci con te un patto — dice il Signore Dio — e tu fosti mia.
9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.	9 Ed io ti lavai con acqua, ti purificai dal tuo sangue e ti unsi con olio.
10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.	10 E ti vestii di abiti ricamati, ti diedi calzari di giacinto, cintura di bisso, ti coprii delle vesti più fine.
11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.	11 E ti adornai di gioielli, misi i braccialetti alle tue mani e la collana al tuo collo,
12 And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.	12 e misi sopra la tua bocca un anello, gli orecchini alle tue orecchie e una bella corona sopra la tua testa.
13 Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.	13 E tu fosti adorna d'oro e d'argento, vestita di bisso e di abiti ricamati a vari colori. Ti nutristi di fior di farina, di miele e di olio, e diventasti straordinariamente bella, e arrivasti a regnare.
14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.	14 E il tuo nome si sparse tra le nazioni a motivo della tua bellezza, essendo tu perfetta per il mio splendore che avevo posto su te — dice il Signore Dio.
15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.	15 E, superba di tua bellezza, ti servisti del tuo nome per fornicare e ti esponesti a fornicare con chiunque passasse per la strada in modo da diventare sua.
16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.	16 E prese le tue vesti te ne facesti degli abiti lunghi, cucendole da un lato e dall'altro, e sopra di essi ti prostituisti in un modo che non lù nè sarà mai.
17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,	17 E presi gli ornamenti della tua bellezza, fatti col mio oro e col mio argento, che ti avevo dati, ne facesti imagini
18 And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.	18 E, presele vesti variopinte, le copristi e ponesti dinanzi ad esse il mio olio e il mio incenso.
19 My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.	19 E il mio pane che ti avevo donato, e il fior di farina, l'olio, il miele, coi quali ti avevo nutrita, li ponesti dinanzi ad esse, in odore soave: così fu — dico il Signore Dio.
20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,	20 E prendesti i tuoi figli, le tue figlie che mi avevi generate, e le immolasti ad esse, facendole divorare. E' dunque piccola cosa la tua prostituzione?
21 That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?	21 Hai immolati i miei figli, e dopo averli consacrati, li hai dati agli idoli.
22 And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.	22 E dopo tutte le tue abominazioni e fornicazioni non ti sei ricordata dei giorni della tua adolescenza, quando eri nuda, piena di vergogna, e calpestata nel tuo sangue.
23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)	23 E dopo tante tue malvagità — guai, guai a te, dice il Signore —
24 That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.	24 ti sei fabbricati dei lupanari, hai alzati postriboli in tutte le piazze.
25 Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.	25 Àd ogni capo di strada hai posto il segno di tua prostituzione, hai resa abominevole la tua bellezza, ti sei data a chiunque passasse, ed hai moltiplicate le tue fornicazioni.
26 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.	26 Ed hai fornicato coi figli dell'Egitto, vicini tuoi, di grossa corporatura, ed hai moltiplicate le tue fornicazioni per irritarmi.
27 Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.	27 Ecco io stenderò la mia mano sopra di te, e toglierò la tua giustificazione, e ti abbandonerò a chi ti odia, alle figlie della Palestina, che arrossiscano della tua vita scellerata.
28 Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.	28 E tu non ancora sazia, hai fornicato coi figli degli Assiri, ed anche dopo aver fornicato non sei sazia.
29 Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith.	29 Ed hai moltiplicate le tue fornicazioni nella terra di Canaan con i Caldei, e nemmeno così sei sazia.
30 How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;	30 Come potrò purificare il tuo cuore — dice il Signore Dio — quando fai tutte queste opere di donna meretrice e sfacciata?
31 In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;	31 Alzando il tuo postribolo al capo d'ogni via, facendo un alto luogo in Cigni piazza, non sei stata come una meretrice che fa la ritrosa per accrescere il prezzo,
32 But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!	32 ma come donna adultera che prende stranieri nel posto del suo marito.
33 They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.	33 A tutte le meretrici si dà la mercede, tu invece hai data la mercede ai tuoi amanti, hai dati loro dei doni, perchè da ogni parte venissero a fornicare con te.
34 And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.	34 E' avvenuto riguardo a te il contrario di quel che usan le donne, nelle tue fornicazioni e dopo di te non esisterà tale fornicazione, chè tu hai data la mercede senza riceverla: in te è avvenuto il rovescio.
35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:	35 Per questo, o meretrice, ascolta la parola del Signore.
36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;	36 Ecco quanto dice il Signore: Perchè hai gettato il tuo danaro e scoperta la tua nudità nelle fornicazioni coi tuoi amanti, coi tuoi idoli abominevoli, col sangue dei tuoi figli che hai dati ad essi,
37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.	37 Teoco io radunerò tutti i tuoi amanti coi quali ti sei unita, e tutti quelli che hai amati con tutti quelli che hai odiati, li radunerò contro di te da tutte le parti, e scoprirò dinanzi ad essi la tua nudità, ed essi vedranno tutte le tue turpitudini.
38 And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.	38 E ti giudicherò come si giudica l'adultera e la sanguinaria, e ti abbandonerò alla strage del furore e della gelosia.
39 And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.	39 E ti darò nelle loro mani, e abbatteranno il tuo lupanare, e demoliranno il tuo postribolo, e ti spoglieranno delle tue vesti, e porteran via i tuoi ornamenti, e ti lasceranno nuda e piena d'ignominia.
40 They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.	40 E raduneranno contro di te la moltitudine e ti lapideranno (caricandoti) di pietre, e ti trucideranno colle loro spade.
41 And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.	41 E daranno alle fiamme le tue case, ed eseguiranno i giudizi contro di te alla presenza di moltissime donne, e tu finirai di fornicare, e non darai più mercede.
42 So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.	42 Ed avrà posa il mio sdegno contro di te, e da te s'allontanerà la mia gelosia, e starò quieto e non sarò più irritato.
43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.	43 perchè tu non ti sei ricordata dei giorni della tua adolescenza, e mi hai provocato con tutte queste cose, per questo io ho fatto ricadere sopra il tuo capo le tue opere — dice il Signore Dio — e non ti ho trattato secondo le tue scelleratezze e tutte le tue abominazioni.
44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.	44 Ecco che tutti quelli che dicono al volgo dei proverbi contro di te si serviran di quello che dice: « Quale la madre, tale la figlia di lei ».
45 Thou art thy mother's daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.	45 Tu sei proprio figlia di tua madre, che abbandonò il suo marito e i suoi figlioli, sei sorella delle tue sorelle, che abbandonarono i loro mariti e i loro figli: la vostra madre è Cetea, il vostro padre è l'Amorreo.
46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.	46 Tua sorella maggiore è Samaria con le sue figlie, che sono alla tua sinistra; la tua sorella minore, che sta alla tua destra, è Sodoma con le sue figlie.
47 Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.	47 E tu non hai battute le loro strade, non hai agito secondo le loro scelleratezze, troppo poco; in tutta la tua condotta hai fatte cose quasi più scellerate delle loro.
48 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.	48 Io vivo — dice il Signore Dio: — la tua stessa sorella, Sodoma, con le sue figlie, non ha fatto quello che hai fatto tu e le tue figlie.
49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.	49 Ecco qual fu l'iniquità di Sodoma, tua sorella: la superbia, l'esser piena di cibo, l'abbondanza, l'ozio di lei e delle sue figlie, e non stendevano la mano all'indigente e al povero.
50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.	50 E s'inorgoglirono e fecero abominazioni davanti a me, ed io le spazzai via, come tu hai veduto.
51 Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.	51 Ed anche Samaria non fece la metà dei tuoi peccati; tu le sorpassasti con le tue scelleratezze, e tu hai fatto apparir giuste le tue sorelle con tutte le tue abominazioni da te commesse.
52 Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.	52 Porta dunque la tua confusione anche tu che hai superate le tue sorelle coi tuoi peccati, ed hai fatto peggio di loro, in modo da renderle giuste a tuo paragone. Anche tu dunque vergognati e porta la tua ignominia, tu che hai fatto apparir giuste le tue sorelle.
53 When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them:	53 Ma io farò ritornare al loro posto gli schiavi di Sodoma e delle sue figlie, gli schiavi di Samaria e delle sue figlie, e in mezzo a quelli di loro farò tornare i tuoi schiavi,
54 That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.	54 affinchè tu porti la tua ignominia e sii confusa per tutte quelle cose che hai fatte, e sii per loro di consolazione.
55 When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.	55 Così la tua sorella Sodoma e le sue figlie torneranno al loro antico stato, e Sa­maria e le sue figlie torneranno al loro antico stato, e tu e le tue figlie tornerete al vostro antico stato.
56 For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,	56 La tua sorella Sodoma non fu sentita sulla tua bocca nel giorno del tuo orgoglio,
57 Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.	57 prima che fosse scoperta la tua malizia come ora agli oltraggi delle figlie della Siria, e di tutte le figlie di Palestina che hai all'intorno e ti cingono da ogni lato.
58 Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the LORD.	58 Tu hai portato il tuo delitto e la tua ignominia — dice il Signore Dio.
59 For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.	59 Infatti, così dice il Signore: Agirò con te come tu hai agito, disprezzando il giuramento e rendendo vano il patto.
60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.	60 Ma io mi ricorderò del mio patto, che feci teco nei giorni della tua adolescenza, e stabilirò con te un patto sempiterno.
61 Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.	61 E ti ricorderai della tua condotta o ti vergognerai quando tu riceverai teco le tue sorelle maggiori di te con quelle di te minori, ed io te le darò come figliole, ma non in virtù del tuo patto.
62 And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:	62 E io stabilirò con te il mio patto e tu saprai che io sono il Signore,
63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.	63 e, ricordando, arrossirai e non avrai l'ardire di aprire la bocca dalla vergogna, quando io ti avrò perdonato tutto quello che hai fatto — dice il Signore Dio ».
