1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	1 - E il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendo:
2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,	2 «Figlio dell'uomo, fa' conoscere a Gerusalemme le sue abominazioni.
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.	3 Dirai: - Così dice il Signore a Gerusalemme: Tu sei della razza e del germe dei Cananei, d'un padre Amorreo e d'una madre Cetea.
4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.	4 Venuta al mondo, nel giorno della tua nascita non ti fu reciso il cordone ombelicale, non sei stata lavata nell'acqua salutare nè cospersa di sale nè raccolta nelle fasce.
5 None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.	5 Occhio non si mosse su di te a compassione da prestarti impietosito cura di sorta; ma fosti gettata, come un essere abbietto, sul nudo terreno nel giorno della tua nascita.
6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.	6 Passando io accanto, ti ho visto stramazzata nel tuo sangue e ho detto a te, così imbrattata di sangue come eri: Vivi. Ripeto, a te così imbrattata di sangue ho detto: Vivi!
7 I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.	7 Ti ho fatta crescere come un germoglio della campagna e sei cresciuta e ingrandita, e avanzando sei pervenuta all'età muliebre: ti crebbero le mammelle e germogliò la pubertà. Ma eri nuda e tutta vergognosa.
8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.	8 Ti passai accanto e ti ho veduta; ed ecco, eri nella tua età, nell'età di chi ama, ed io ho spiegato sopra di te il mio manto ed ho coperto le tue vergogne e ti ho giurato fede e ho stretto un patto con te, dice il Signore Dio, e tu sei diventata mia.
9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.	9 Sì, ti ho lavata nell'acqua e sbrattata dal tuo sangue e ti ho cosparsa di unguento.
10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.	10 Ti misi vesti variopinte, calzari colorati, ti ammantai di bisso, ti ricopersi di veli.
11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.	11 Ti abbigliai di ornamenti e ti cinsi i braccialetti ai polsi e un vezzo al collo.
12 And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.	12 Ornai di un monile la tua faccia e di pendenti le tue orecchie e d'uno splendido serto la tua testa.
13 Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.	13 Ingioiata d'oro e d'argento, vestita di bisso e trine e ricami a colori, mantenuta a fior di farina e miele e olio, ti sei rimbellita tanto che sei riuscita al regno.
14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.	14 E sei uscita in fama tra le nazioni per la tua bellezza, perchè eri perfetta nella bellezza mia, che avevo posta sopra di te, dice il Signore Dio.
15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.	15 E orgogliosa della tua bellezza ti sei resa famosa nel fornicare, ti sei esibita alla voglia altrui, a chiunque passava, per darti a lui.
16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.	16 E presi i tuoi indumenti, li hai ricuciti in addobbi per le are e sopra di essi hai fornicato, ciò che mai non fu nè mai sarà.
17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,	17 E hai tolti i gioielli del tuo abbigliamento, dell'oro e dell'argento mio che ti aveva dato e te ne sei fatte delle immagini virili davanti a cui ti sei prostituita.
18 And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.	18 E hai prese quelle tue vesti a vari colori e le hai rivestite, e il mio unguento e i miei profumi hai posti davanti a loro.
19 My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.	19 E il mio pane che ti avevo dato e il fiore di farina e l'olio e il miele con cui ti nutrivo, hai offerti davanti a loro in oblazione di profumo soave; così è stato, dice il Signore Dio.
20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,	20 Ma perfino i tuoi figli hai presi e le figlie, che avevi a me generati, e li hai sacrificati a loro in pasto; è cosa da poco la tua fornicazione?
21 That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?	21 Hai immolato i miei figli e li hai dati agl'idoli perchè a loro fossero consacrati.
22 And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.	22 E dopo tutte le abominazioni e fornicazioni tue non ti sei più ricordata dei giorni della tua giovinezza, quando eri ignuda e tutta vergognosa e immersa nel sangue.
23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)	23 E avvenne che dopo tanta tua malvagità, ahi, sciagurata te, dice il Signore Dio,
24 That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.	24 hai messo su casa di bordello e aperto in tutte le piazze luoghi di postribolo!
25 Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.	25 Allo sbocco di ogni via hai eretto un segno della tua prostituzione e hai deturpata la tua beltà e hai piegato i fianchi a chiunque passava e moltiplicate le tue fornicazioni.
26 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.	26 Hai trescato coi figli dell'Egitto tuoi vicini grossi e membruti e hai moltiplicato le tue fornicazioni per irritarmi.
27 Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.	27 Ed ecco che io stenderò la mia mano sopra di te e toglierò i tuoi privilegi dotali e farò di te secondo le voglie di coloro che ti odiano, delle figlie dei Filistei che sentono vergogna della tua condotta scellerata.
28 Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.	28 E hai fornicato coi figli degli Assiri, non sentendoti ancor soddisfatta, e dopo aver fornicato, ancora non ti sei saziata.
29 Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith.	29 E hai moltiplicato le tue fornicazioni nella terra di Canaan coi Caldei e neppure ti sentisti saziata.
30 How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;	30 In che modo purificherò io il tuo cuore, dice il Signore Dio, mentre commetti azioni come questa da meretrice spudorata?
31 In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;	31 Ad ogni svolto di via hai edificato un postribolo, in ogni piazza hai eretto un ritrovo, e neppure ti sei contenuta quanto una meretrice che fa la ritrosa per aumentare il prezzo;
32 But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!	32 ma, come una moglie adultera, che il luogo di suo marito, introduce seco degli estranei.
33 They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.	33 A tutte le meretrici si dà un compenso; tu invece hai ricompensato i tuoi amanti, e facevi loro profferte di regali perchè entrassero da te a turno per fornicare.
34 And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.	34 Nelle tue fornicazioni è avvenuto il rovescio di quel che sogliono fare le donne e dopo di te fornicazione a quel modo non vi sarà: nel fatto che hai dato e non ricevuto il compenso, è avvenuto in te il rovescio di ciò che avviene -».
35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:	35 Perciò, o meretrice, ascolta la parola del Signore:
36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;	36 «Così dice il Signore Dio: - Perchè è stato versato a profusione il tuo denaro, e le tue vergogne sono state scoperte nelle tue fornicazioni, coi tuoi amanti e cogli idoli delle tue abominazioni nel sangue dei tuoi figli che ad essi hai offerto;
37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.	37 ecco che io radunerò tutti i tuoi amanti coi quali hai avuto commercio, tutti quei che hai amato e tutti quei che hai aborrito; li raccoglierò attorno a te da ogni lato e metterò a nudo le tue vergogne in faccia ad essi, e ne vedranno tutta la turpitudine e la bruttura.
38 And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.	38 E ti giudicherò alla stregua delle adultere e delle spargitrici di sangue, e ti farò un'espiazione cruenta del furore e della gelosia.
39 And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.	39 E ti darò nelle loro mani ed essi distruggeranno il tuo lupanare e demoliranno il tuo postribolo, e ti spoglieranno delle tue vestimenta e ti porteranno via gli oggetti del tuo ornamento, e ti lasceranno nuda e nella più completa vergogna.
40 They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.	40 E condurranno sopra di te una moltitudine e ti lapideranno colle pietre e ti trafiggeranno colle loro spade.
41 And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.	41 E daranno alle fiamme le tue case e faranno giustizia di te davanti agli sguardi di molte donne e cesserai di fornicare e non offrirai più le tue mercedi.
42 So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.	42 E il mio sdegno contro di te si calmerà, e la mia gelosia di te sparirà e mi acquieterò e più non mi adirerò.
43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.	43 Perchè non ti sei rammentata dei giorni della tua adolescenza e mi hai provato con sì fatte cose, io pure ti ho messo sul capo il frutto della tua condotta, dice il Signore Dio, ancorchè non l'abbia fatto secondo richiedeva la scelleratezza di tutte le tue abominazioni.
44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.	44 Ecco che chiunque vorrà dire un proverbio popolare applicherà a te quello che dice: Quale la madre tale la figlia .
45 Thou art thy mother's daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.	45 Tu sei figlia di tua madre, che gettò in un canto suo marito e i suoi figliuoli; tu sei degna sorella delle tue sorelle che rigettarono il loro marito e la loro figliolanza; vostra madre è una Cetea, è un Amorreo il vostro genitore.
46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.	46 Tua sorella maggiore è Samaria, essa con tutte le sue figlie che abitano alla tua sinistra; tua sorella minore quella che abita alla tua destra, Sodoma con le sue figliuole.
47 Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.	47 Ma tu, neppure ti sei contenuta nel limite di queste, nè hai voluto operare secondo le loro scelleraggini, per non parer da meno, cose quasi più scellerate di loro hai fatte in tutti i tuoi procedimenti.
48 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.	48 Vivo io, dice il Signore Dio, che Sodoma stessa e le sue figlie non hanno fatto come tu e le tue figliuole avete fatto.
49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.	49 Ecco l'iniquità di Sodoma, tua sorella, fu questa: superbia, sazietà di pane e l'abbondanza e l'ozio di essa e delle sue figlie, che non porgevano la mano all'infelice e al povero,
50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.	50 e s'inorgoglirono e fecero cose abominevoli sotto i miei sguardi, e le ho fatte scomparire, come hai veduto.
51 Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.	51 E Samaria non commise la metà de' tuoi peccati, e tu colle tue scelleratezze le hai superate e hai dimostrato, in tutte le abominazioni che hai operato, più giustificabili le tue sorelle.
52 Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.	52 Porta dunque la tua confusione, giacchè hai vinto le tue sorelle coi tuoi peccati, operando più scelleratamente di esse; sono state più giustificabili di te; vergognati dunque e porta la tua ignominia, tu che hai fatto giustificazione delle tue sorelle.
53 When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them:	53 E queste voglio rimpatriare, riconducendo al luogo di rimpatrio Sodoma e le sue figlie, al rimpatrio Samaria e le sue figlie e in mezzo di esse ricondurrò al rimpatrio anche te,
54 That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.	54 affinchè porti la tua vergogna e per le cose che hai operato ti abbia a confondere servendo ad esse di consolazione.
55 When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.	55 Sì, Sodoma tua sorella e le sue figlie ritorneranno nel loro stato primitivo e Samaria e le sue figlie torneranno nel loro stato primitivo e tu e le tue figlie ritornerete al vostro stato primiero.
56 For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,	56 Ma Sodoma tua sorella non hai degnato nominarla colla tua bocca nel giorno della tua superbia,
57 Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.	57 prima che fosse messa in mostra la tua malvagità, come è stato ora, fatta segno all'oltraggio delle figlie della Siria e di tutte in giro le figlie dei Filistei che ti accerchiano intorno.
58 Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the LORD.	58 La pena della tua scelleraggine e della tua ignominia ora tu hai riportato -», dice il Signore Dio.
59 For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.	59 Perchè così dice il Signore Dio: «Meriteresti ch'io facessi con te come hai fatto tu, che hai disprezzato il giuramento per violare la promessa;
60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.	60 ma io ricorderò la mia promessa data a te nei giorni della tua giovinezza e stabilirò con te un'alleanza sempiterna.
61 Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.	61 E tu riandrai nella memoria i tuoi procedimenti e ne sentirai vergogna, quando riavrai le tue sorelle maggiori di te insieme alle minori; io te la darò per figliuole, e non in forza della tua promessa!
62 And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:	62 Ed io restringerò la mia alleanza con te, e riconoscerai che io sono il Signore,
63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.	63 affinchè tu ricordi e ti confonda e non abbia più oltre da aprir bocca per la vergogna; allorchè mi sarò placato con te, per tutto quello che hai fatto», dice il Signore Dio.
