1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	1 Cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,	2 “Fils d’homme, fais voir à Jérusalem toutes ses horribles actions.
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.	3 Voici une parole de Yahvé que tu rediras à Jérusalem: Tu es née en Canaan et c’est de là que tu es sortie; l’Amorite a été ton père, une Hittite était ta mère.
4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.	4 À ta naissance, le jour où tu es venue au monde, ton cordon n’a pas été coupé, tu n’as pas été baignée dans l’eau, on ne t’a pas frottée de sel, on ne t’a pas enveloppée de langes.
5 None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.	5 Personne n’a eu de compassion, nul ne t’a donné des soins, même par pitié; le jour où tu es venue au monde, tu n’intéressais personne et on t’a laissée sur le sol dans la campagne.
6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.	6 Je suis alors passé près de toi, je t’ai vue te débattant dans ton sang et je t’ai dit: Vis, toi qui perds ton sang,
7 I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.	7 et grandis comme une herbe des champs! Alors tu as commencé à grandir, tu t’es développée, tu es devenue une jeune fille, ta poitrine s’est affermie et ta chevelure s’est développée; mais tu étais nue, tu n’avais rien.
8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.	8 Alors je suis passé près de toi et je t’ai vue; c’était le temps des amours, j’ai tendu sur toi le pan de mon manteau, j’ai couvert ta nudité et je t’ai prêté serment. J’ai fait une alliance avec toi, parole de Yahvé - et tu es devenue mienne.
9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.	9 Je t’ai baignée dans l’eau, je t’ai lavée de ton sang et je t’ai parfumée d’huile.
10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.	10 Je t’ai habillée de vêtements brodés, avec des chaussures de cuir fin, j’ai mis sur ta tête un voile de lin et de soie,
11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.	11 je t’ai parée de bijoux, j’ai mis des bracelets à tes poignets, un collier à ton cou,
12 And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.	12 un anneau à ton nez, des boucles à tes oreilles, et pour ta tête un splendide diadème.
13 Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.	13 Tes bijoux étaient d’or et d’argent, tes vêtements de lin fin, avec des étoffes précieuses toutes brodées. Tu te nourrissais de fine farine, de miel et d’huile, et tu es devenue magnifique: un jour tu as été reine.
14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.	14 Ta beauté est devenue célèbre parmi les nations: c’était une beauté parfaite grâce à ma splendeur que je répandais sur toi - parole de Yahvé.
15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.	15 Et puis tu as mis ta confiance dans ta beauté, ta renommée t’a permis de te prostituer; tu as prodigué tes charmes à tout passant et tu es allée avec lui.
16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.	16 Tu as pris de tes habits pour décorer les Hauts-Lieux sur lesquels tu te prostituais.
17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,	17 Tu as pris tes bijoux d’or et d’argent que je t’avais donnés, tu en as fait des statues, des mâles avec lesquels tu t’es prostituée.
18 And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.	18 Tu les recouvrais de tes vêtements brodés et tu déposais devant elles mon huile et mon encens.
19 My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.	19 Tu leur présentais en offrande d’agréable odeur, le pain que je t’avais donné, la fleur de farine, l’huile, le miel dont je te nourrissais - parole de Yahvé.
20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,	20 Tu as même pris tes fils et tes filles que tu m’avais enfantés, tu les leur offrais pour qu’ils les dévorent: cela ne te suffisait donc pas de te débaucher?
21 That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?	21 Mais non, tu as égorgé mes fils et tu les as livrés en sacrifice,
22 And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.	22 pour faire mieux encore que de te prostituer, et tu oubliais les jours de ta jeunesse, lorsque tu étais nue et sans vêtements et que tu te débattais dans ton sang.
23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)	23 Après toutes tes méchancetés, dit Yahvé,
24 That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.	24 tu t’es encore construit des estrades sur toutes tes places;
25 Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.	25 à toutes les entrées de chemin tu élevais un monticule. Tu as profané ta beauté, tu as offert ton corps à tout passant et tu t’es vautrée dans la débauche.
26 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.	26 Tu t’es prostituée avec les Égyptiens, tes voisins bien charpentés, tu as multiplié tes débauches à plaisir pour m’irriter.
27 Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.	27 Alors j’ai frappé, j’ai diminué ta ration et je t’ai livrée à celles qui te haïssaient, aux Philistines qui rougissaient de ton inconduite.
28 Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.	28 Mais tu n’étais pas encore rassasiée, tu t’es prostituée avec les Assyriens, après quoi tu n’étais pas encore satisfaite.
29 Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith.	29 Tu as multiplié tes débauches dans un pays de marchands, en Kaldée, et là encore tu n’étais pas rassasiée.
30 How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;	30 Quelle fureur est la mienne, dit Yahvé, en voyant ta conduite de prostituée insolente!
31 In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;	31 Lorsque tu élevais ton estrade à toutes les entrées de chemins ou sur les places, tu ne demandais pas de salaire comme fait la prostituée,
32 But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!	32 tu étais la femme adultère qui cherche des étrangers au lieu de son mari.
33 They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.	33 Aux prostituées on donne un cadeau, mais toi, tu donnais tes cadeaux à tous tes amants; tu les payais pour qu’ils viennent de partout se débaucher avec toi.
34 And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.	34 Tu te prostituais, mais c’était le contraire des autres femmes: personne ne courait après toi, c’est toi qui payais et on ne te payait pas. Tu n’étais vraiment pas comme les autres.
35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:	35 C’est pourquoi, prostituée, écoute la parole de Yahvé.
36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;	36 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Parce que tu as étalé ta nudité dans tes prostitutions avec tes amants, avec toutes tes abominables idoles, parce que tu as versé le sang de tes enfants,
37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.	37 moi, à mon tour, je rassemblerai tous ces amants pour lesquels tu t’es enflammée, ceux que tu as aimés comme ceux que tu as détestés. Je les rassemblerai contre toi de toutes parts et je découvrirai devant eux ta nudité: ils te verront privée de tout.
38 And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.	38 Je t’appliquerai la sentence des femmes adultères et des criminelles: je te livrerai à la colère et l’indignation.
39 And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.	39 Je te livrerai entre leurs mains, ils démoliront et abattront tes estrades, ils te dépouilleront de tes habits, ils prendront tes bijoux et te laisseront nue, sans rien.
40 They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.	40 Ils convoqueront contre toi une assemblée, ils te lapideront avec des pierres et te perceront de leurs épées.
41 And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.	41 Ils t’appliqueront ta sentence et te livreront au feu sous les yeux de toutes les autres femmes; je ferai en sorte que tu ne puisses plus te prostituer ni payer des amants.
42 So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.	42 Lorsque ma fureur se sera déchargée, mon indignation prendra fin, je me calmerai et ne me mettrai plus en colère.
43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.	43 Mais, parce que tu ne t’es pas souvenue des jours de ta jeunesse et que tu m’as provoqué de mille façons, à mon tour je ferai retomber ta conduite sur ta tête, parole de Yahvé. Tes actions honteuses n’ont-elles pas été suivies de crimes?
44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.	44 Ceux qui aiment les sentences te diront: “Telle mère, telle fille”.
45 Thou art thy mother's daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.	45 Tu es bien la fille de ta mère qui détestait son mari et ses enfants, tu es bien la sœur de tes sœurs qui détestaient leurs maris et leurs enfants; votre mère était Hittite et votre père Amorite.
46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.	46 Ta sœur aînée, c’est Samarie qui habite avec ses filles sur ton côté nord, ta sœur la plus jeune, c’est Sodome qui habite avec ses filles vers le sud.
47 Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.	47 Ce n’est pas à moitié que tu as suivi leurs chemins pour commettre le crime, tu t’es montrée plus dévergondée qu’elles dans toute ta conduite.
48 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.	48 Par ma vie, dit Yahvé, ta sœur Sodome et ses filles n’ont pas agi comme toi et tes filles.
49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.	49 Quelle a été la faute de ta sœur Sodome? Elle était orgueilleuse, elle mangeait bien et vivait insouciante; elle et ses filles n’ont rien fait pour le pauvre et le malheureux.
50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.	50 Elles sont devenues arrogantes, elles ont fait ce qui me déplaît; c’est pourquoi je les ai fait disparaître comme tu l’as vu.
51 Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.	51 Quant à Samarie, elle n’a pas commis la moitié de tes péchés: toi, tu as commis tellement d’abominations que tes sœurs paraissent justes à côté de toi.
52 Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.	52 Aussi maintenant porte ta honte puisque tes péchés plus horribles que les leurs les font paraître innocentes. Tu devrais être rouge de honte d’avoir ainsi justifié tes sœurs.
53 When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them:	53 Je les rétablirai, je rétablirai Sodome et ses filles, je rétablirai Samarie et ses filles, et ensuite je te rétablirai au milieu d’elles.
54 That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.	54 Et tu seras confuse, tu devras porter ta honte pour tout ce que tu as fait, car cela même leur a rendu courage.
55 When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.	55 Tes sœurs, Sodome et ses filles, Samarie et ses filles, seront rétablies comme autrefois; toi et tes filles, vous serez aussi rétablies comme autrefois.
56 For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,	56 Tu te moquais bien de ta sœur Sodome dans le temps où tu étais fière,
57 Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.	57 quand on n’avait pas encore découvert ta nudité; mais tu es comme elle maintenant. Les filles d’Édom et leurs voisines rient de toi, les filles des Philistins près de toi te méprisent.
58 Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the LORD.	58 Maintenant tu paies tes péchés et tes crimes, parole de Yahvé.
59 For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.	59 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: J’agirai envers toi comme tu as agi toi-même: tu as rompu l’alliance sans plus penser à ton serment.
60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.	60 Cependant je me souviendrai de mon alliance avec toi au temps de ta jeunesse et je t’accorderai une alliance éternelle.
61 Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.	61 Tu te souviendras alors de ta conduite et tu en auras honte lorsque tu recevras tes sœurs, les aînées comme les plus jeunes, lorsque je te les donnerai pour filles, sans rien renier de mon alliance avec toi.
62 And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:	62 Car je maintiendrai mon alliance avec toi et tu sauras que je suis Yahvé.
63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.	63 Alors tu te souviendras, tu seras couverte de honte et tu n’oseras plus ouvrir la bouche lorsque je te pardonnerai tout ce que tu as fait - parole de Yahvé.
