Ezekiel 16

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	1 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:
2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,	2 Fils d'homme, fais connaître à Jérusalem ses abominations.
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.	3 Tu diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé à Jérusalem. Par ton origine et par ta naissance, tu es dupays du Canaan. Ton père était amorite et ta mère hittite.
4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.	4 A ta naissance, au jour où tu vins au monde, on ne te coupa pas le cordon, on ne te lava pas dansl'eau pour te nettoyer, on ne te frotta pas de sel, on ne t'enveloppa pas de langes.
5 None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.	5 Nul n'a tourné vers toi un regard de pitié, pour te rendre un de ces devoirs par compassion pourtoi. Tu fus jetée en pleine campagne, par dégoût de toi, au jour de ta naissance.
6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.	6 Je passai près de toi et je te vis, te débattant dans ton sang. Je te dis, quand tu étais dans ton sang:"Vis!"
7 I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.	7 et je te fis croître comme l'herbe des champs. Tu te développas, tu grandis et tu parvins à l'âgenubile. Tes seins s'affermirent, ta chevelure devint abondante; mais tu étais toute nue.
8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.	8 Alors je passai près de toi et je te vis. C'était ton temps, le temps des amours. J'étendis sur toi lepan de mon manteau et je couvris ta nudité; je m'engageai par serment, je fis un pacte avec toi - oracle duSeigneur Yahvé - et tu fus à moi.
9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.	9 Je te baignai dans l'eau, je lavai le sang qui te couvrait, je t'oignis d'huile;
10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.	10 je te donnai des vêtements brodés, des chaussures de cuir fin, un bandeau de lin et un manteaude soie.
11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.	11 Je te parai de bijoux, je mis des bracelets à tes poignets et un collier à ton cou.
12 And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.	12 Je mis un anneau à ton nez, des boucles à tes oreilles, et sur ta tête un splendide diadème.
13 Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.	13 Tu étais parée d'or et d'argent, vêtue de lin, de soie et de broderies. La fleur de farine, le miel etl'huile étaient ta nourriture. Tu devins de plus en plus belle et tu parvins à la royauté.
14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.	14 Tu fus renommée parmi les nations pour ta beauté, car elle était parfaite grâce à la splendeurdont je t'avais revêtue, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.	15 Mais tu t'es infatuée de ta beauté, tu as profité de ta renommée pour te prostituer, tu as prodiguétes débauches à tout venant.
16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.	16 Tu as pris de tes vêtements pour t'en faire des hauts lieux aux riches couleurs, et tu t'y esprostituée.
17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,	17 Tu as pris tes parures d'or et d'argent que je t'avais données et tu t'es fait des images d'hommespour servir à tes prostitutions.
18 And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.	18 Tu as pris tes vêtements brodés et tu les en as couvertes, et c'est mon huile et mon encens que tuas offerts devant elles.
19 My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.	19 C'est le pain que je t'avais donné, la fleur de farine, l'huile et le miel dont je te nourrissais que tuas offerts devant elles en parfum d'apaisement. Et il est arrivé - oracle du Seigneur Yahvé -
20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,	20 que tu as pris tes fils et tes filles que tu m'avais enfantés, et que tu les leur as sacrifiés pourqu'elles s'en nourrissent. Etait-ce donc trop peu que ta prostitution?
21 That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?	21 Tu as égorgé mes fils et tu les as livrés pour les faire passer par le feu en leur honneur.
22 And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.	22 Et dans toutes tes abominations et tes prostitutions, tu ne t'es pas souvenue des jours de tajeunesse, quand tu étais toute nue, te débattant dans ton sang.
23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)	23 Et pour comble de méchanceté, - malheur, malheur à toi! oracle du Seigneur Yahvé -
24 That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.	24 tu t'es bâti un tertre, tu t'es fait une hauteur sur toutes les places.
25 Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.	25 A l'entrée de chaque chemin, tu t'es bâti une hauteur pour y souiller ta beauté et livrer ton corps àtout venant; tu as multiplié tes prostitutions.
26 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.	26 Tu t'es prostituée chez les Egyptiens, tes voisins au corps puissant, tu as multiplié tesprostitutions pour m'irriter.
27 Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.	27 Et voici que j'ai levé la main contre toi; j'ai rationné ta nourriture, je t'ai livrée à la merci de tesennemies, les filles des Philistins, rougissant de l'infamie de ta conduite.
28 Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.	28 Faute d'être rassasiée, tu t'es prostituée chez les Assyriens. Tu t'es prostituée sans pourtant terassasier.
29 Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith.	29 Tu as multiplié tes prostitutions au pays des marchands, chez les Chaldéens, et cette fois nonplus, tu ne t'es pas rassasiée.
30 How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;	30 Comme ton coeur était faible - oracle du Seigneur Yahvé - en commettant toutes ces actionsdignes d'une véritable prostituée!
31 In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;	31 Lorsque tu te bâtissais un tertre à l'entrée de chaque chemin, que tu te faisais une hauteur surtoutes les places, en méprisant le salaire, tu n'étais pas comme la prostituée.
32 But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!	32 La femme adultère, au lieu de son mari, accueille les étrangers.
33 They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.	33 A toutes les prostituées, on donne un cadeau. Mais c'est toi qui donnais des cadeaux à tous tesamants et qui leur as offert des présents, pour que, de tous côtés, ils viennent à toi dans tes prostitutions.
34 And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.	34 Pour toi, ce fut le contraire des autres femmes dans tes prostitutions: nul ne courait après toi,c'est toi qui payais et l'on ne te payait pas; tu faisais le contraire.
35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:	35 Eh bien, prostituée, écoute la parole de Yahvé!
36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;	36 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Pour avoir dilapidé ton argent, découvert ta nudité au cours de tesprostitutions avec tes amants et avec tes ordures abominables, pour le sang de tes fils que tu leur a donnés,
37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.	37 pour cela, je vais rassembler tous les amants à qui tu as plu, tous ceux que tu as aimés et tousceux que tu as haïs, je vais les rassembler d'alentour contre toi, et je vais découvrir ta nudité devant eux, pourqu'ils voient toute ta nudité.
38 And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.	38 Je vais t'infliger le châtiment des femmes adultères et sanguinaires: je te livrerai à la fureur et àla jalousie,
39 And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.	39 je te livrerai entre leurs mains; ils nivelleront ton tertre et démoliront tes hauteurs, ilst'arracheront tes vêtements et te prendront tes parures, ils te laisseront toute nue.
40 They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.	40 Puis ils exciteront la foule contre toi, ils te lapideront et te perceront à coup d'épée,
41 And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.	41 ils mettront le feu à tes maisons et feront justice de toi, sous les yeux d'une multitude de femmes;je mettrai fin à tes prostitutions et tu ne donneras plus de salaire.
42 So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.	42 J'assouvirai ma fureur contre toi, puis ma jalousie se retirera de toi, je m'apaiserai et ne memettrai plus en colère.
43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.	43 Puisque tu ne t'es pas souvenue des jours de ta jeunesse et qu'en tout cela tu m'as provoqué, voiciqu'à mon tour je vais faire retomber ta conduite sur ta tête, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé. N'as-tu pas commisl'infamie avec toutes tes pratiques abominables?
44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.	44 Voici que tous les faiseurs de proverbes en diront un à ton sujet: "Telle mère, telle fille."
45 Thou art thy mother's daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.	45 Tu es bien la fille de ta mère qui détestait son mari et ses enfants; tu es bien la soeur de tessoeurs qui ont détesté leur mari et leurs enfants. Votre mère était hittite et votre père amorite.
46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.	46 Ta soeur aînée, c'est Samarie, qui habite à ta gauche avec ses filles. Ta soeur cadette, qui habite àta droite, c'est Sodome, avec ses filles.
47 Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.	47 Tu n'as pas manqué d'imiter leur conduite ni de commettre leurs abominations. Tu t'es montréeplus corrompue qu'elles dans toute ta conduite.
48 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.	48 Par ma vie, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé, Sodome, ta soeur, et ses filles n'ont pas agi comme vousavez agi, toi et tes filles.
49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.	49 Voici quelle fut la faute de Sodome ta soeur: orgueil, voracité, insouciance tranquille, tellesfurent ses fautes et celles de ses filles; elles n'ont pas secouru le pauvre et le malheureux,
50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.	50 elles se sont enorgueillies et ont commis l'abomination devant moi, aussi les ai-je fait disparaître,comme tu l'as vu.
51 Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.	51 Quant à Samarie, elle n'a pas commis la moitié de tes péchés. Tu as multiplié bien plus qu'elletes abominations. En commettant autant d'abominations, tu as justifié tes soeurs.
52 Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.	52 Mais toi, porte le déshonneur dont tu as innocenté tes soeurs: à cause des péchés par lesquels tut'es rendue bien plus odieuse qu'elles, elles sont plus justes que toi. Toi donc, sois dans la honte et porte tondéshonneur, tout en justifiant tes soeurs.
53 When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them:	53 Je les rétablirai. Je rétablirai Sodome et ses filles, je rétablirai Samarie et ses filles, puis je terétablirai au milieu d'elles,
54 That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.	54 afin que tu portes ton déshonneur et que tu rougisses de tout ce que tu as fait, pour leurconsolation.
55 When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.	55 Tes soeurs, Sodome et ses filles, seront rétablies en leur état ancien; Samarie et ses filles serontrétablies en leur état ancien. Toi et tes filles, vous serez rétablies en votre état ancien.
56 For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,	56 De Sodome, ta soeur, n'as-tu pas fait des gorges chaudes, au jour de ton orgueil,
57 Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.	57 avant que ne fût découverte ta nudité? Comme elle, tu es maintenant l'objet de la raillerie desfilles d'Edom et de toutes celles d'alentour, des filles des Philistins, qui t'accablent de leur mépris, tout autour detoi.
58 Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the LORD.	58 Ton infamie et tes abominations, c'est toi qui t'en es chargée, oracle de Yahvé.
59 For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.	59 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. J'agirai envers toi comme tu as agi, toi qui as méprisé leserment jusqu'à violer une alliance.
60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.	60 Mais moi, je me souviendrai de mon alliance avec toi au temps de ta jeunesse et j'établirai en tafaveur une alliance éternelle.
61 Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.	61 Et toi, tu te souviendras de ta conduite et tu en rougiras, quand tu accueilleras tes soeurs, lesaînées avec les cadettes, et que je te les donnerai pour filles, sans que j'y sois tenu par mon alliance avec toi.
62 And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:	62 Car c'est moi qui rétablirai mon alliance avec toi, et tu sauras que je suis Yahvé,
63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.	63 afin que tu te souviennes et que tu sois saisie de honte et que, dans ta confusion, tu sois réduiteau silence, quand je te pardonnerai tout ce que tu as fait, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
