1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.	1 Vaticinio a carico dell'Egitto. Ecco che il Signore, montato sopra leggera nuvoletta, entrerà in Egitto: dinanzi a lui crolleranno gli idoli d'Egitto, e il cuore dell'Egitto si struggerà nel suo petto.
2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.	2 Ed io scaglierò gli Egiziani contro gli Egiziani, e combatteranno, fratello contro fratello, amico contro amico, città contro città, regno contro regno.
3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.	3 E l'Egitto resterà senza spirito nelle sue viscere, ed io distruggerò il suo consiglio. Essi interrogheranno i loro idoli, i loro indovini, i pitoni, i maghi;
4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.	4 ma io darò l'Egitto in mano di crudeli padroni, e un re potente li dominerà, — dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti. —
5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.	5 Verranno meno le acque del mare e il fiume resterà senz'acqua, seccato,
6 And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.	6 e i fiumi verranno meno, caleranno e seccheranno i canali arginati, le canne e i giunchi andranno a male.
7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.	7 Il letto del canale resterà asciutto fin dal suo principio, ed ogni semenza da innaffiarsi seccherà, diventerà arida, perirà.
8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.	8 E gemeranno i pescatori, piangeranno tutti quelli che gettano l'amo nel fiume, e quelli che stendono le reti sopra le acque saran desolati.
9 Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.	9 Saran confusi i lavoratori del lino, gli scardassatori e i tessitori di panni fini.
10 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.	10 I suoi luoghi irrigati saran senz'acqua, (così) tutti quelli che facevan fosse per prendere i pesci.
11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellers of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?	11 I principi di Tanis sono stolti, i sapienti consiglieri di Faraone diedero insensato consiglio. Come potrete dire a Faraone: « Io sono figlio di sapienti, figlio degli antichi re? »
12 Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.	12 Dove sono ora i tuoi sapienti? Ti annunzino, ti espongano ciò che il Signore degli eserciti ha decretato sopra l'Egitto.
13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.	13 I principi di Tanis sono divenuti stolti, si sono scoraggiati i principi di Menti, hanno ingannato l'Egitto i capi dei suoi popoli.
14 The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.	14 Il Signore ha diffuso in mezzo a loro lo spirito di vertigine; ed essi fanno errare l'Egitto in ogni sua azione, come erra un briaco che vomita.
15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.	15 E non avrà mai l'Egitto un'opera che faccia capo e coda, suddito e superiore.
16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.	16 In quel giorno l'Egitto sarà come le donne, stupiranno, si spaventeranno al muoversi della mano del Signore degli eserciti, che Egli stesso stenderà contro di loro.
17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.	17 E la terra di Giuda sarà di terrore all'Egitto, tutti quelli che si ricorderanno di lei tremeranno per il decreto del Signore degli eserciti, che Egli stesso ha stabilito contro di loro.
18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.	18 In quel giorno vi saranno cinque città nella terra d'Egitto che parleranno la lingua di Canaan, e giureranno pel Signore degli eserciti: una sarà chiamata città del sole.
19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.	19 In quel giorno vi sarà l'altare del Signore nel mezzo della terra d'Egitto. E il monumento del Signore ai suoi confini
20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.	20 sarà segno e testimonianza pel Signore degli eserciti nella terra d'Egitto; alzeranno la voce al Signore contro l'oppressore, ed Egli manderà loro un salvatore, un difensore a liberarli.
21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.	21 E il Signore sarà conosciuto dall'Egitto, e gli Egiziani in quel giorno conosceranno il Signore, e l'onoreranno con sacrifizi e offerte, faran dei voti al Signore e li adempiranno,
22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.	22 e il Signore percuoterà l'Egitto, farà la piaga e la risanerà. E torneranno al Signore, il quale si placherà e li sanerà.
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.	23 In quel giorno vi sarà una via tra l'Egitto e l'Assiria: l'Assiro andrà in Egitto, l'Egiziano andrà in Assiria, e serviranno (il Signore) gli Egiziani e gli Assiri.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:	24 In quel giorno Israele s'unirà, terzo, all'Egitto e all'Assiria, come benedizione in mezzo alla terra
25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.	25 alla quale il Signore ha data la benedizione dicendo: « Benedetto sia il mio popolo d'Egitto, e l'Assiro, opera delle mie mani, e Israele, mia eredità ».
