1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.	1 Annunzio pesante contro l'Egitto: Ecco, che il Signore salirà sopra una nuvola leggera, ed entrerà in Egitto, e alla presenza di lui si conturberanno i simolacri d'Egitto, e verrà meno il cuore nel petto all'Egitto.
2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.	2 E farò, che vengano alle mani Egiziani con Egiziani, e combatterà l'uomo contro iL proprio fratello, e l'uomo contro del suo amico, città contro città, regno contro regno.
3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.	3 E l'Egitto resterà senza spirito nelle sue viscere, e distruggerò i suoi consigli, e consulteranno i loro simulacri, e i loro indovini, e i pitoni, e i maghi.
4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.	4 E darò l'Egitto in balia di padroni crudeli, e un re fiero gli dominerà, dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti.
5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.	5 E il mare resterà senz'acqua, e il fiume si sperderà, e si seccherà.
6 And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.	6 E i fiumi mancheranno, caleranno, e resteranno asciutti i canali arginati, la canna, e il giunco anderanno male:
7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.	7 Il letto del canale sarà asciutto là, dove comincia, e tutta la semente, che si adacquava, seccherà, diventerà arida, e perirà.
8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.	8 E saranno afflitti i pescatori, e piangeranno tutti quelli, che gettan l'amo nel fiume, e que', che stendono la rete sopra le acque, si consumeran di dolore.
9 Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.	9 Saranno confusi que', che lavoravano il lino, e lo pettinavano, e ne facevan de' fini lavori.
10 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.	10 (Perocché i luoghi bagnati dalle acque saranno sfruttati), e tutti que', che facevan fosse per pigliar pesci.
11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellers of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?	11 Stolti i principi di Tanes, i sapienti consiglieri di Faraone han dato un consiglio stolto. Come suggerirete voi a Faraone (che dica): Io figliuolo de' sapienti, io figliuolo de' regi antichi?
12 Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.	12 Dove son ora i tuoi sapienti? annunzino a te, e ti espongano quello,che il Signore degli eserciti ha pensato sopra l'Egitto.
13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.	13 Stolti son divenuti i principi di Tanes, han perduto il cuore i principi di Memphi, hanno ingannato l'Egitto, capo de popoli di lui.
14 The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.	14 Il Signore ha diffuso in mezzo a loro lo spirito di vertigine, ed eglino hanno fatto, che l'Egitto erri in tutto quello, ch'ei fa, come va errando un briaco, che vomita.
15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.	15 È l'Egitto non farà opera, in cui si distingua il capo, e la coda, il suddito, e il superiore.
16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.	16 In quel giorno gli Egiziani saran come donne, e diverranno stupidi, e paurosi al movimento della mano del Signore degli eserciti, la quale egli stenderà contro di loro.
17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.	17 E la terra di Giuda sarà riverita dall'Egitto, e ognuno al ricordarsi di lei tremerà a motivo de' disegni formati dal Signor degli eserciti in favore di lei.
18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.	18 In quel giorno cinque città saranno nella terra d'Egitto, che parleranno la lingua di Chanaan, e giureranno pel Signor degli eserciti. Una sarà chiamata città del sole.
19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.	19 In quel giorno sarà nel mezzo della terra d'Egitto l'altare del Signore, e il trofeo del Signore a' suoi confini.
20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.	20 Sarà segno, e testimonianza renduta al Signor degli eserciti nella terra d'Egitto; imperocché invocheranno il Signore contro l'oppressore, ed ei manderà loro un salvatore, e difensore a liberarli.
21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.	21 E il Signore sarà conosciuto dall'Egitto, e gli Egiziani confesseranno in quel dì il Signore, e lo onoreranno con ostie, e offerte, e faran voti al Signore, e gli adempiranno.
22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.	22 E il Signore percuoterà l'Egitto con piaga, e lo sanerà, e torneranno al Signore, e si placherà con essi, e li sanerà.
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.	23 In quel giorno sarà libero il passaggio dall'Egitto all'Assiria, e l'Assiro entrerà nell'Egitto, e l'Egiziano nell'Assiria, e serviranno (il Signore) gli Egiziani coll'Assiro.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:	24 In quel giorno Israele sarà in terzo coll'Egiziano, e coll'Assiro; la benedizione sarà in mezzo alla terra,
25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.	25 A cui il Signore ha data benedizione, dicendo: Benedetto il popolo mio dell'Egitto, e l'Assiro, che è opra delle mie mani, e Israele mia eredità.
