1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.	1 - Vaticinio sull'Egitto. Ecco che il Signore monterà sopra una nube leggera, ed entrerà in Egitto; e al suo apparire si commoveranno i simulacri di Egitto e gli egiziani si sentiranno mancare in petto il cuore.
2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.	2 E farò correre [all'armi] egiziani contro egiziani, e il fratello combatterà contro il fratello, e l'amico contro l'amico: città con città e regno con regno.
3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.	3 E lo spirito degli Egiziani sarà schiantato dentro alle loro viscere, e manderò a precipizio i loro consigli; e consulteranno i loro simulacri e gli indovini, gli stregoni e i maghi.
4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.	4 E consegnerò gli Egiziani in mano di padroni crudeli, e un re forte li dominerà, dice il Signore degli eserciti.
5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.	5 E si asciugherà l'acqua del mare, e il fiume sarà nella desolazione e si seccherà.
6 And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.	6 E i fiumi ristagneranno, e caleranno e seccheranno i canali arginati.
7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.	7 I canneti e le giuncaie appassiranno: l'alveo del fiume resterà scoperto fino alla sorgente, e tutti i seminati delle terre irrigate seccheranno, inaridiranno e non faranno nulla.
8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.	8 E i pescatori saranno afflitti, piangeranno tutti quelli che gettano l'amo nel fiume; e i tenditori di rete sulla superficie delle acque, languiranno.
9 Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.	9 Quelli che lavoravano il lino, pettinandolo e tessendolo in finissime tele, resteranno confusi,
10 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.	10 e languiranno i prati irrigui d'Egitto, e tutti quelli che facevano le chiuse per pigliar pesci.
11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellers of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?	11 I principi di Tanis sono stolti, i sapienti che fanno da consiglieri al Faraone hanno dato un consiglio insipiente. Come dite al Faraone: «Io sono figlio di sapienti, sono prole di antichi re?».
12 Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.	12 Dove sono dunque i tuoi sapienti? ti annunzino e ti indichino essi il consiglio che il Signore degli eserciti ha pensato contro all'Egitto.
13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.	13 I principi di Tanis sono diventati stolti, i principi di Memfi sono insaniti, hanno ingannato l'Egitto, la pietra angolare delle sue genti.
14 The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.	14 Il Signore ha diffuso in mezzo a loro uno spirito di stordimento, ed essi hanno fatto errare l'Egitto in tutto quello che ha fatto, come un ubriaco che va barcollando, in mezzo al suo vomito.
15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.	15 E l'Egitto non avrà alcuna opera che valga il capo e la coda, la palma e il giunco.
16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.	16 E in quel giorno gli Egiziani diverranno come donne, e saranno nello sbalordimento e nel terrore dinanzi alla mano minacciosa del Signore degli eserciti, che vedranno scuotere sopra di essi.
17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.	17 E la terra di Giuda sarà causa di spavento per l'Egitto: al solo ricordarla ognuno tremerà dinanzi al consiglio che il Signore degli eserciti ha preso sopra di essa.
18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.	18 In quel giorno vi saranno nella terra di Egitto cinque città, che parleranno la lingua di Canaan e giureranno nel Signore degli eserciti, una si chiamerà Città del sole.
19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.	19 In quel giorno nel mezzo del paese d'Egitto, vi sarà un altare del Signore, e presso alla sua frontiera, un monumento al Signore
20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.	20 sarà un segno e un testimonio del Signore degli eserciti nella terra di Egitto. Perchè così grideranno verso il Signore di fronte all'oppressore, e manderà loro un salvatore e un difensore che li libererà.
21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.	21 E il Signore sarà conosciuto dall'Egitto, e verrà giorno che gli Egiziani lo conosceranno e gli presteranno culto con sacrifici e offerte e faranno voti al Signore e li adempiranno.
22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.	22 E il Signore percuoterà con piaghe l'Egitto, e poi lo sanerà e si convertiranno al Signore; e si placherà con essi e li sanerà.
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.	23 In quel giorno vi sarà la via aperta dall'Egitto all'Assiria; e l'Assiro entrerà in Egitto e l'Egiziano nell'Assiria, ed Egiziani ed Assiri serviranno [il Signore].
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:	24 In quel giorno Israele sarà terzo coll'Egizio e l'Assiro: benedizione in mezzo alla terra,
25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.	25 a cui benedirà il Signore dicendo: «Benedetto il popolo mio dell'Egitto, e l'Assiro che è opera delle mie mani, e Israele mia eredità».
