1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.	1 Oracolo sull'Egitto. Ecco il Signore che cavalca su una nube leggera e se ne va in Egitto. Vacillano gl'idoli dell'Egitto davanti a lui e nel petto viene meno il cuore agli Egiziani.
2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.	2 Aizzerò l'Egitto contro l'Egitto, combatteranno gli uni contro gli altri, ciascuno contro il suo prossimo, città contro città, regno contro regno.
3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.	3 La potenza dell'Egitto svanirà in mezzo ad esso, e renderò vano il suo consiglio; per cui ricorreranno agli idoli e agli incantatori, ai negromanti e agli indovini.
4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.	4 Consegnerò gli Egiziani in balìa di un duro padrone, un re crudele dominerà su di loro. Oracolo del Signore, Dio degli eserciti.
5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.	5 Le acque del mare si disseccheranno, il fiume diventerà arido e asciutto.
6 And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.	6 I canali diventeranno nauseabondi, si svuoteranno e seccheranno i torrenti, canne e giunchi sbiadiranno.
7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.	7 I papiri sulle rive del Nilo e alla foce del Nilo e tutte le piante del Nilo si seccheranno, spariranno completamente.
8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.	8 Gemeranno i pescatori, faranno lutto quanti nel Nilo gettano l'amo, e si lamenteranno quanti stendono le reti sulla superficie dell'acqua.
9 Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.	9 Saranno confusi i lavoratori del lino, le scardatrici e i tessitori impallidiranno.
10 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.	10 I tessitori saranno costernati, tutti gli operai salariati rattristati nel loro animo.
11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellers of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?	11 Certamente stolti sono i prìncipi di Tanis, i più sapienti dei consiglieri del faraone formano un consiglio stupido. Come potete dire al faraone: "Io sono discepolo dei sapienti, discepolo di antichi regnanti"?
12 Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.	12 Dove sono dunque i tuoi sapienti? Ti annuncino e facciano conoscere ciò che progettò il Signore degli eserciti a proposito dell'Egitto.
13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.	13 Sono divenuti stolti i prìncipi di Tanis, si ingannano i prìncipi di Menfi. Hanno fatto traviare l'Egitto i capi delle sue tribù.
14 The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.	14 Il Signore ha effuso in mezzo a loro uno spirito di smarrimento, essi fanno traviare l'Egitto in ogni sua attività, come va errando l'ubriaco nel suo vomito.
15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.	15 Ed in favore dell'Egitto non si compirà un'opera da parte del capo o della coda, del ramo o del giunco.
16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.	16 In quel giorno gli Egiziani saranno come femmine, tremeranno spaventati di fronte alla mano che il Signore degli eserciti agiterà contro di loro.
17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.	17 Il paese di Giuda diventerà un terrore per l'Egitto; ogni volta che Giuda sarà ricordato, se ne avrà timore a causa del progetto che il Signore degli eserciti ha formato contro di esso.
18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.	18 In quel giorno vi saranno in Egitto cinque città che parleranno la lingua di Canaan e giureranno per il Signore degli eserciti; una di queste si chiamerà Città del sole.
19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.	19 In quel giorno vi sarà nel mezzo del paese di Egitto un altare dedicato al Signore, presso la sua frontiera una stele in onore del Signore.
20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.	20 Ci sarà un segno e una testimonianza per il Signore degli eserciti nel paese di Egitto. Quando invocheranno il Signore di fronte agli oppressori, egli invierà loro un salvatore e un difensore, che li libererà.
21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.	21 Il Signore si farà conoscere all'Egitto; gli Egiziani riconosceranno il Signore in quel giorno; lo serviranno con sacrifici e oblazioni, faranno voti al Signore e li manterranno.
22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.	22 Il Signore percuoterà ancora gli Egiziani, li percuoterà, ma poi li guarirà; si convertiranno al Signore, che sarà loro propizio e li guarirà.
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.	23 In quel giorno ci sarà una strada dall'Egitto fino all'Assiria. L'Assiria verrà in Egitto e l'Egitto andrà in Assiria e gli Egiziani serviranno il Signore insieme con gli Assiri.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:	24 In quel giorno Israele, il terzo con l'Egitto e con l'Assiria, sarà una benedizione in mezzo alla terra.
25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.	25 Il Signore degli eserciti li benedirà dicendo: "Benedetto sia l'Egitto, popolo mio, l'Assiria, opera delle mie mani, e Israele mia eredità".
