Proverbs 5

1 My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:	1 Meu filho, atende à minha sabedoria, inclina o teu ouvido à minha prudência, para conservares a reflexão e manteres em teus lábios a ciência.
2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
3 For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:	3 Os lábios da mulher estranha são como o favo que destila o mel, e as suas palavras são mais suaves do que o azeite;
4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.	4 porém o seu fim é amargo como o absinto, e cortante como uma espada de dois gumes.
5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.	5 Os seus pés encaminham-se para a morte, e os seus passos levara até aos Infernos.
6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.	6 Ela não anda pela vereda da vida. Os seus passos vagabundos vão errando, sem saber para onde.
7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.	7 Agora, pois, meu filho, ouve-me, e não te apartes das palavras da minha boca.
8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:	8 Afasta dela o teu caminho, e não te aproximes da porta de sua casa.
9 Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:	9 Não (lês a tua honra a estranhos, nem os tens anos a um cruel,
10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;	10 para que não suceda que os estranhos enriqueçam com os teus bens, e que (os frutos dos) teus trabalhos passem para a casa doutrem,
11 And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,	11 e que tu gemas no fim, quando tiveres consumido as tuas carnes e o teu corpo, e digas:
12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;	12 Por que detestei a disciplina, e o meu coração não cedeu às repreensões,
13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!	13 nem ouvi a voz dos que ensinavam, nem dei ouvidos aos mestres?
14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.	14 Quase cheguei ao cúmulo da desgraça, no meio da assembleia cio povo e dos anciães.
15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.	15 Bebe da água da tua cisterna, e das correntes do teu poço.
16 Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.	16 Queres que corram fora as tuas fontes, queres espalhar as tuas águas nas praças públicas?
17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.	17 Possui-as tu só, e não tenham parte nelas os estranhos.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.	18 Abençoada a tua nascente! Vive alegre com a mulher que tornaste na tua juventude.
19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.	19 (Seja ela para ti como) uma corça que muito amas e (como) uma gazela cheia de graça; os seus encantos sejam o teu recreio em todo o tempo;no seu amor busca sempre as tuas delícias.
20 And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?	20 Por que te deixas, meu filho, enganar pela mulher alheia, e repousas no seio duma estranha?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.	21 O Senhor olha atentamente para os caminhos do homem, considera todos os seus passos. O ímpio é presa das suas próprias iniquidades, e é ligado com as cadeias dos seus pecados.
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.
23 He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.	23 Éle morrerá (infeliz), porque não recebeu a correcção, e se achará enganado pelo excesso da sua loucura.
