Psalms 92

1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:	1 Salmo. Cantico. Per il giorno del sabato.
2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,	2 E' bello dar lode al Signore, inneggiare al tuo nome, o Altissimo,
3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.	3 annunziando al mattino la tua misericordia, e la tua fedeltà lungo la notte,
4 For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.	4 sull'arpa a dieci corde e sulla lira, con melodia sonora, con la cetra!
5 O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.	5 Poiché mi rallegri, o Signore, con le tue azioni, esulto per le opere delle tue mani.
6 A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.	6 Quanto sono grandi le tue opere, o Signore, come sono profondi i tuoi pensieri!
7 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:	7 Questo non sa l'uomo insensato, non può comprenderlo colui che è stolto.
8 But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.	8 Se germogliano gli empi come l'erba e tutti i malfattori fioriscono, è perché li attende una rovina sempiterna.
9 For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.	9 Mentre tu, o Signore, rimani per sempre l'Eccelso.
10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.	10 Poiché ecco: i tuoi nemici, o Signore, i tuoi nemici periranno, saranno dispersi tutti i malfattori.
11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.	11 Tu hai elevato la mia potenza come quella di un bufalo, mi hai cosparso di olio splendente.
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.	12 Compiaciuti i miei occhi hanno guardato sui miei nemici, cose infauste hanno udito le mie orecchie riguardo ai malvagi, quanti erano insorti contro di me.
13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.	13 Fioriscono i giusti come palme, crescono come i cedri del Libano;
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;	14 trapiantati nella casa del Signore, fioriscono negli atri del nostro Dio.
15 To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.	15 Perfino nella vecchiaia dànno il loro frutto, rimanendo sempre vegeti e rigogliosi,
	16 per narrare che retto è il Signore, mia roccia, e non c'è in lui alcuna ingiustizia.
