Psalms 109

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;	1 Du maître de chant. De David.Psaume. Dieu de ma louange, ne te tais plus!
2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.	2 Bouche méchante et bouche d'imposture s'ouvrent contre moi. On me parle une langue demensonge,
3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.	3 de paroles de haine on m'entoure, on m'attaque sans raison.
4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.	4 Pour prix de mon amitié, on m'accuse, et je ne suis que prière;
5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.	5 on amène sur moi le malheur pour prix du bienfait, la haine pour prix de mon amitié.
6 Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.	6 "Suscite contre lui le méchant, que se dresse à sa droite l'accusateur;
7 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.	7 du jugement qu'il sorte coupable, que sa prière soit tenue pour péché!
8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office.	8 Que les jours lui soient écourtés, qu'un autre prenne sa charge;
9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.	9 que ses enfants deviennent orphelins et sa femme, une veuve!
10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.	10 Ses fils, qu'ils errent et qu'ils errent, qu'ils mendient et qu'on les chasse de leurs ruines;
11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.	11 que l'usurier rafle tout son bien, que l'étranger pille son revenu!
12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.	12 Que pas un ne lui reste charitable, que pas un n'ait pitié de ses orphelins,
13 Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.	13 que soit retranchée sa descendance, qu'en une génération soit effacé leur nom!
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.	14 Que Yahvé se souvienne du tort de ses pères, que le péché de sa mère ne soit pas effacé;
15 Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.	15 qu'ils soient devant Yahvé constamment, pour qu'il retranche de la terre leur souvenir! "
16 Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.	16 Lui ne s'est pas souvenu d'être charitable: il pourchassait le pauvre et le malheureux, jusqu'à lamort, l'homme au coeur brisé.
17 As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.	17 Il aimait la malédiction: elle vient à lui! Il ne goûtait pas la bénédiction: elle le quitte!
18 As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.	18 Il revêtait la malédiction comme un manteau: elle entre au fond de lui comme de l'eau, et commede l'huile dans ses os.
19 Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.	19 Qu'elle lui soit un vêtement qui l'enveloppe, une ceinture qui l'enserre constamment!
20 Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.	20 Tel soit, de par Yahvé, le salaire de mes accusateurs qui profèrent le mal sur mon âme!
21 But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.	21 Mais toi, Yahvé, agis pour moi selon ton nom, délivre-moi, car ton amour est bonté.
22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.	22 Pauvre et malheureux que je suis, mon coeur est blessé au fond de moi;
23 I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.	23 comme l'ombre qui décline je m'en vais, on m'a secoué comme la sauterelle.
24 My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.	24 A tant jeûner mes genoux fléchissent, ma chair est amaigrie faute d'huile;
25 I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.	25 on a fait de moi une insulte, ceux qui me voient hochent la tête.
26 Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to thy mercy:	26 Aide-moi, Yahvé mon Dieu, sauve-moi selon ton amour:
27 That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, LORD, hast done it.	27 qu'ils le sachent, c'est là ta main, toi, Yahvé, voilà ton oeuvre!
28 Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.	28 Eux maudissent, et toi tu béniras, ils attaquent, honte sur eux, et joie pour ton serviteur!
29 Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.	29 Qu'ils soient vêtus d'infamie, ceux qui m'accusent, enveloppés de leur honte comme d'unmanteau!
30 I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.	30 Grandes grâces à Yahvé sur mes lèvres, louange à lui parmi la multitude;
31 For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.	31 car il se tient à la droite du pauvre pour sauver de ses juges son âme.
