1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.	1 Mosè rispose: "E se non mi credono e non ascoltano la mia voce dicendo: "Non ti è apparso il Signore"?".
2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.	2 Il Signore gli disse: "Che cos'hai in mano?". Disse: "Un bastone".
3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.	3 Disse: "Gettalo a terra". Lo gettò a terra e diventò un serpente, davanti a cui Mosè fuggì.
4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:	4 Il Signore disse a Mosè: "Stendi la tua mano e prendilo per la coda". Stese la sua mano e lo tenne stretto, e nella sua palma diventò un bastone.
5 That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.	5 "Questo perché credano che ti è apparso il Signore, Dio dei loro padri, Dio di Abramo, Dio di Isacco e Dio di Giacobbe".
6 And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.	6 Il Signore gli disse ancora: "Metti la tua mano nel tuo seno". Mise la mano nel suo seno: la ritrasse, ed ecco che la sua mano era ricoperta di lebbra, bianca come neve.
7 And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.	7 E disse: "Riponi la tua mano nel tuo seno". Rimise la sua mano nel suo seno: la ritrasse, ed ecco che era tornata come la sua carne.
8 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.	8 "E se non ti crederanno e non ascolteranno la voce del primo segno, crederanno alla voce del secondo.
9 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.	9 E se non crederanno neanche a questi due segni e non ascolteranno la tua voce, prenderai dell'acqua del fiume e la verserai sull'asciutto: e l'acqua che avrai preso dal fiume diventerà sangue sull'asciutto".
10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.	10 Mosè disse al Signore: "Quanto a me, Signore, io non sono un parlatore: né da ieri, né da ieri l'altro, né da quando parli al tuo servo, poiché io sono pesante di bocca e di lingua".
11 And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?	11 Il Signore gli disse: "Chi ha dato la bocca all'uomo, o chi lo rende muto o sordo, veggente o cieco? Non sono forse io, il Signore?
12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.	12 E ora va', io sarò con la tua bocca, ti istruirò su quello che dovrai dire".
13 And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.	13 Mosè disse: "Ti prego, Signore, manda chiunque tu voglia mandare".
14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.	14 L'ira del Signore si infiammò contro Mosè e disse: "Non c'è forse Aronne, tuo fratello, il levita? So che è buon parlatore: egli parlerà. Ed ecco, anzi sta venendo incontro a te: ti vedrà e gioirà in cuor suo.
15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.	15 Gli parlerai e metterai le parole nella sua bocca, e io sarò con la tua bocca e con la sua bocca, e vi istruirò su quello che dovrete fare.
16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.	16 Sarà lui a parlare per te al popolo: ed egli sarà per te la bocca e tu sarai per lui un dio.
17 And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.	17 E quanto a questo bastone, prendilo nella tua mano: con quello farai prodigi".
18 And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.	18 Mosè se ne andò, tornò da Ietro, suo suocero, e gli disse: "Lasciami andare e tornare dai miei fratelli che sono in Egitto, per vedere se sono ancora vivi". Ietro disse a Mosè: "Va' in pace".
19 And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.	19 Il Signore disse a Mosè in Madian: "Va', torna in Egitto, perché sono morti tutti gli uomini che cercavano la tua vita".
20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.	20 Mosè prese sua moglie e i suoi figli, li fece sedere su un asino e tornò in terra d'Egitto. E Mosè prese il bastone di Dio in mano sua.
21 And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.	21 Il Signore disse a Mosè: "Nel ritornare in Egitto, vedi tutti i prodigi che ho messo in mano tua: li farai davanti al faraone, ma io renderò duro il suo cuore e non manderà via il popolo.
22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:	22 E dirai al faraone: "Così ha detto il Signore: Israele è il mio figlio primogenito.
23 And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.	23 Ti avevo detto: Manda mio figlio, perché mi serva, e non hai voluto mandarlo via. Ecco, io faccio morire il tuo figlio primogenito".
24 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.	24 E avvenne che nel cammino, durante la sosta notturna, il Signore lo raggiunse e cercò di farlo morire.
25 Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.	25 Zippora prese un silice e tagliò il prepuzio di suo figlio, toccò i suoi piedi e disse: "Mio sposo di sangue sei per me".
26 So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.	26 E si ritirò da lui. Di qui il detto "sposo di sangue" per le circoncisioni.
27 And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.	27 Il Signore disse ad Aronne: "Va' incontro a Mosè nel deserto". Andò e lo raggiunse al monte di Dio e lo baciò.
28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.	28 Mosè informò Aronne su tutte le parole del Signore, che lo aveva inviato, e su tutti i segni che gli aveva ordinato.
29 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:	29 Mosè ed Aronne partirono e riunirono tutti gli anziani dei figli d'Israele.
30 And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.	30 Aronne disse tutte le parole che il Signore aveva detto a Mosè e compì i segni agli occhi del popolo.
31 And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.	31 Il popolo credette, e comprese che il Signore aveva visitato i figli d'Israele e aveva visto la loro miseria. E si inginocchiarono e adorarono.
