1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.	1 Rispose Mosè, e disse: Ei non crederanno a me, e non ascolteranno la mia voce, ma diranno: iI Signore non ti è apparito.
2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.	2 E quegli disse a lui: Che è quello, che tu hai in mano? Rispose: Un bastone.
3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.	3 E disse il Signore: Gettalo per terra. Lo gettò, e cangiossi in serpente, tal che Mosè si fuggì.
4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:	4 E disse il Signore: Stendi la tua mano, e prendilo per la coda. Stese la mano, e lo prese, e ritornò un bastone.
5 That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.	5 Affinché credano, disse, che è apparito a te il Signore Dio dei padri loro, il Dio di Abramo, il Dio d'Isacco, e il Dio di Giacobbe.
6 And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.	6 E il Signore disse di nuovo: Mettiti in seno la tua mano. E messa ch'ei l'ebbe in seno, la cavò fuora coperta di lebbra bianca come neve.
7 And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.	7 Rimettiti, disse (Dio), la mano in seno. La rimise, e la cavò fuori di nuovo, ed era come l'altra carne.
8 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.	8 S'ei non crederanno, disse, a te, e non capiranno il linguaggio del primo prodigio, si arrenderanno a quello del prodigio seguente.
9 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.	9 Che se a nissun dei due prodigi crederanno, e non ascolteranno la tua voce, prendi dell'acqua del fiume, e versala per terra, e quanto ne avrai attinta dal fiume, si convertirà in sangue.
10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.	10 Disse Mosè: Perdona, o Signore, io non era uomo facondo per lo passato: anche dopo che tu hai parlato al tuo servo, io son tardo di lingua, e balbuziente.
11 And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?	11 Disse a lui il Signore: Chi ha fatto la bocca dell’uomo? e chi ha formato il mutolo, e il sordo, il veggente, e il cieco? non son io quegli?
12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.	12 Va' adunque, e io sarò nella tua bocca, e ti insegnerò quello che dovrai dire.
13 And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.	13 Ma quegli disse: Di grazia, Signore, manda colui, che tu sei per mandare.
14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.	14 Si crucciò il Signore contro Mosè, e disse: Aronne tuo fratello figliuolo di Levi, so, che è eloquente: ecco che egli viene a incontrarti, e rallegrerassi di cuore in vedendoti.
15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.	15 Parla a lui, e metti in bocca a lui le mie parole: e io sarò nella tua bocca, e nella bocca di lui, e mostrerò a voi quello che abbiate, a fare.
16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.	16 Egli parlerà in vece tua al popolo, e sarà la tua bocca: tu poi lo governerai in quelle cose, che a Dio appartengono.
17 And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.	17 Prendi anche in mano questa verga, colla quale opererai prodigi.
18 And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.	18 Mosè se n’andò, e tornò al suo suocero Jetro, e gli disse: Io me ne andrò per tornare a' miei fratelli in Egitto, e vedere, se sono ancor vivi. Jetro gli disse: Va' in pace.
19 And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.	19 E il Signore disse a Mosè in Madian: Va', e torna in Egitto: perocché son morti tutti quelli che volevano la tua morte.
20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.	20 Prese adunque Mosè la sua moglie, e i suoi figliuoli, e li pose sopra un asino, e se ne tornò in Egitto, portando in mano la verga di Dio.
21 And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.	21 E il Signore disse a lui mentre se ne tornava in Egitto: bada di fare tutti i prodigi, che io ho posti nelle tue mani, al cospetto di Faraone: io indurerò il cuore di lui, ed ei non lascerà partire il popolo.
22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:	22 E tu gli dirai: Queste cose dice il Signore: Israele è il figliuol mio primogenito:
23 And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.	23 Io ti ho detto: Lascia andare il mio figliuolo, affinché mi serva; e non hai voluto lasciarlo partire: ecco che io darò morte al tuo figliuolo primogenito.
24 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.	24 E mentre egli era per viaggio in un albergo, il Signore si presentò a lui, e volea farlo morire.
25 Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.	25 Prese tosto Sephora una pietra molto affilata, e circoncise il suo figliuolo, e toccò i piedi di lui, e disse: Sposo di sangue sei tu per me.
26 So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.	26 E quegli lo lasciò stare dopo che ella ebbe detto: Sposo di sangue a motivo della fatta circoncisione.
27 And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.	27 E il Signore disse ad Aronne: Va' nel deserto incontro a Mosè. Andogli incontro fino al monte di Dio, e baciollo.
28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.	28 E Mosè raccontò ad Aronne tutte le cose, per le quali il Signore lo avea mandato, e i prodigi, che gli avea ordinato di fare.
29 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:	29 E andarono insieme a raunare tutti i seniori de' figliuoli d’Israele.
30 And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.	30 E Aronne ripetè tutte le parole dette dal Signore a Mosè: e questi fece i miracoli in presenza del popolo.
31 And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.	31 E il popolo credette: e intesero, come il Signore visitava i figliuoli d'Israele, e avea mirata la loro afflizione; e prostratisi lo adorarono.
