1 And God spake all these words, saying,	1 E il Signore pronunziò tutte queste parole:
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.	2 Io sono il Signore Dio tuo, che ti trassi dalla terra di Egitto, dalla casa di schiavitù.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.	3 Non avrai altri dii dinanzi a me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:	4 Tu non ti farai scoltura, né rappresentazione alcuna di quel che è lassù in cielo, o quaggiù in terra, o nelle acque sotterra.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;	5 E non adorerai tali cose, né ad esse presterai culto: Io sono il Signore Dio tuo forte, geloso, che fo vendetta dell'iniquità de' padri sopra i figliuoli, fino alla terza e quarta generazione di coloro, che mi odiano:
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.	6 E fo misericordia per migliaia (di generazioni) a coloro, che mi amano, e osservano i miei comandamenti.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.	7 Non prendere in vano il nome del Signore Dio tuo: perocché il Signore non terrà per innocente colui, che prenderà invano il nome del Signore Dio suo.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.	8 Ricordati di santificare il giorno di sabato.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:	9 Per sei giorni lavorerai, e farai tutte le tue faccende.
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:	10 Il settimo giorno è il sabato del Signore Dio tuo: in questo non farai lavoro di sorta tu, e il tuo figliuolo, e la tua figliuola, il tuo servo, e la tua serva, il tuo giumento, e il forestiero, che sta dentro le tue porte.
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.	11 Imperocché in sei giorni fece il Signore il cielo e la terra, e il mare, e quanto in essi si contiene, e riposò il settimo giorno: per questo il Signore benedisse il giorno di sabato, e Io santificò.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.	12 Onora il padre tuo, e la madre tua, affinché tu abbi lunga vita sopra la terra, la quale ti sarà data dal Signore Dio tuo.
13 Thou shalt not kill.	13 Non ammazzare.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.	14 Non fornicare.
15 Thou shalt not steal.	15 Non rubare.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.	16 Non dire il falso testimonio contro il tuo prossimo.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.	17 Non desiderare la casa del tuo prossimo, non desiderare la sua moglie, non lo schiavo, non la schiava, non il bue, non l'asino, né veruna delle cose, che a lui appartengono.
18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.	18 E tutto il popolo sentiva le voci, e i folgori, e il suono della tromba, e il monte, che fumava: e atterriti e abbattuti dalla paura si stettero in lontananza,
19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.	19 Dicendo a Mosè: Parla tu a noi, e ascolteremo: non ci parli il Signore, affinché per disgrazia noi non muojamo.
20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.	20 E Mosè disse al popolo: Non temete: imperocché Dio è venuto per far saggio di voi, e affinché sia in voi il suo timore, e non pecchiate.
21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.	21 E il popolo si stette in lontananza: e Mosè si appressò alla caligine, in cui era Iddio.
22 And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.	22 E disse ancora il Signore a Mosè: Queste cose dirai a' figliuoli d'Israele: Voi avete veduto, com'io vi ho parlato dal cielo.
23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.	23 Non farete dii di argento, né vi farete dii d'oro.
24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.	24 Farete a me un altare di terra, e sopra di questo offerirete gli olocausti, e le vostre ostie pacifiche, le vostre pecore, e i bovi in ogni luogo consacrato alla memoria del nome mio: verrò a te, e ti benedirò.
25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.	25 Che se mi fabbricherai altare di pietra, nol farai di pietre tagliate: perché se alzerai sopra di esso lo scalpello, l'altare sarà contaminato.
26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.	26 Al mio altare non salirai per gradini, affinché non si discuopra la tua nudità.
