Exodus 20

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 And God spake all these words, saying,	1 Dieu prononça toutes ces paroles, et dit:
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.	2 "Je suis Yahvé, ton Dieu, qui t'a fait sortir du pays d'Egypte, de la maison de servitude.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.	3 Tu n'auras pas d'autres dieux devant moi.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:	4 Tu ne te feras aucune image sculptée, rien qui ressemble à ce qui est dans les cieux, là-haut, ou surla terre, ici-bas, ou dans les eaux, au-dessous de la terre.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;	5 Tu ne te prosterneras pas devant ces dieux et tu ne les serviras pas, car moi Yahvé, ton Dieu, je suisun Dieu jaloux qui punis la faute des pères sur les enfants, les petits-enfants et les arrière-petits-enfants pourceux qui me haïssent,
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.	6 mais qui fais grâce à des milliers pour ceux qui m'aiment et gardent mes commandements.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.	7 Tu ne prononceras pas le nom de Yahvé ton Dieu à faux, car Yahvé ne laisse pas impuni celui quiprononce son nom à faux.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.	8 Tu te souviendras du jour du sabbat pour le sanctifier.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:	9 Pendant six jours tu travailleras et tu feras tout ton ouvrage;
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:	10 mais le septième jour est un sabbat pour Yahvé ton Dieu. Tu ne feras aucun ouvrage, toi, ni tonfils, ni ta fille, ni ton serviteur, ni ta servante, ni tes bêtes, ni l'étranger qui est dans tes portes.
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.	11 Car en six jours Yahvé a fait le ciel, la terre, la mer et tout ce qu'ils contiennent, mais il s'est reposéle septième jour, c'est pourquoi Yahvé a béni le jour du sabbat et l'a consacré.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.	12 Honore ton père et ta mère, afin que se prolongent tes jours sur la terre que te donne Yahvé tonDieu.
13 Thou shalt not kill.	13 Tu ne tueras pas.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.	14 Tu ne commettras pas d'adultère.
15 Thou shalt not steal.	15 Tu ne voleras pas.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.	16 Tu ne porteras pas de témoignage mensonger contre ton prochain.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.	17 Tu ne convoiteras pas la maison de ton prochain. Tu ne convoiteras pas la femme de ton prochain,ni son serviteur, ni sa servante, ni son boeuf, ni son âne, rien de ce qui est à ton prochain."
18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.	18 Tout le peuple voyant ces coups de tonnerre, ces lueurs, ce son de trompe et la montagne fumante,eut peur et se tint à distance.
19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.	19 Ils dirent à Moïse: "Parle-nous, toi, et nous t'écouterons; mais que Dieu ne nous parle pas, car alorsc'est la mort."
20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.	20 Moïse dit au peuple: "Ne craignez pas. C'est pour vous mettre à l'épreuve que Dieu est venu, pourque sa crainte vous demeure présente et que vous ne péchiez pas."
21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.	21 Le peuple se tint à distance et Moïse s'approcha de la nuée obscure où était Dieu.
22 And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.	22 Yahvé dit à Moïse: "Tu parleras ainsi aux Israélites: Vous avez vu vous-mêmes comment je vousai parlé du haut du ciel.
23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.	23 Vous ne ferez pas à côté de moi des dieux d'argent, et des dieux d'or vous ne vous en ferez pas.
24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.	24 Tu me feras un autel de terre sur quoi immoler tes holocaustes et tes sacrifices de communion, tonpetit et ton gros bétail. En tout lieu où je rappellerai mon nom, je viendrai à toi et je te bénirai.
25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.	25 Si tu me fais un autel de pierres, ne le bâtis pas de pierres taillées, car, en le travaillant au ciseau, tule profanerais.
26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.	26 Et tu ne monteras pas à mon autel par des marches pour n'y pas laisser voir ta nudité."
