Esther 7

1 The great king Artexerxes unto the princes and governors of an hundred and seven and twenty provinces from India unto Ethiopia, and unto all our faithful subjects, greeting.	1 El rey y Amán fueron al banquete de la reina Ester.
2 Many, the more often they are honoured with the great bounty of their gracious princes, the more proud they are waxen,	2 También el segundo día dijo el rey a Ester, durante el banquete: «¿Qué deseas pedir, reina Ester?, pues te será concedido. ¿Cuál es tu deseo? Aunque fuera la mitad del reino, se cumplirá».
3 And endeavour to hurt not our subjects only, but not being able to bear abundance, do take in hand to practise also against those that do them good:	3 Respondió la reina Ester: «Si he hallado gracia a tus ojos, ¡oh rey!, y si al rey le place, concédeme la vida - este es mi deseo - y la de mi pueblo - esta es mi petición.
4 And take not only thankfulness away from among men, but also lifted up with the glorious words of lewd persons, that were never good, they think to escape the justice of God, that seeth all things and hateth evil.	4 Pues yo y mi pueblo hemos sido vendidos, para ser exterminados, muertos y aniquilados. Si hubiéramos sido vendidos para esclavos y esclavas, aún hubiera callado; mas ahora, el enemigo no podrá compensar al rey por tal pérdida».
5 Oftentimes also fair speech of those, that are put in trust to manage their friends' affairs, hath caused many that are in authority to be partakers of innocent blood, and hath enwrapped them in remediless calamities:	5 Preguntó el rey Asuero a la reina Ester: «¿Quién es, y dónde está el hombre que ha pensado en su corazón ejecutar semejante cosa?»
6 Beguiling with the falsehood and deceit of their lewd disposition the innocency and goodness of princes.	6 Respondió Ester: «¡El perseguidor y enemigo es Amán, ese miserable!» Amán quedó aterrado en presencia del rey y de la reina.
7 Now ye may see this, as we have declared, not so much by ancient histories, as ye may, if ye search what hath been wickedly done of late through the pestilent behaviour of them that are unworthily placed in authority.	7 El rey se levantó, lleno de ira, del banquete y se fue al jardín del palacio; Amán, se quedó junto a la reina Ester, para suplicarle por su vida, porque comprendía que, de parte del rey, se le venía encima la perdición.
8 And we must take care for the time to come, that our kingdom may be quiet and peaceable for all men,	8 Cuando el rey volvió del jardín de palacio a la sala del banquete, Amán se había dejado caer sobre el lecho de Ester. El rey exclamó: «¿Es que incluso en mi propio palacio quiere hacer violencia a la reina?» Dio el rey una orden y cubrieron el rostro de Amán.
9 Both by changing our purposes, and always judging things that are evident with more equal proceeding.	9 Jarboná, uno de los eunucos que estaban ante el rey, sugirió: «Precisamente, la horca que Amán había destinado para Mardoqueo, aquel cuyo informe fue tan útil al rey, está preparada en casa de Amán, y tiene cincuenta codos de altura». Dijo el rey: «¡Colgadle de ella!»
10 For Aman, a Macedonian, the son of Amadatha, being indeed a stranger from the Persian blood, and far distant from our goodness, and as a stranger received of us,	10 Colgaron a Amán de la horca que había levantado para Mardoqueo, y se aplacó la ira del rey.
