1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of charity, if any society of the spirit, if any bowels of commiseration:	1 Si donc il y a quelque consolation dans le Christ, s'il y a quelque soulagement dans la charité, s'il y a quelque union d'esprit, s'il y a quelque tendresse et quelque compassion,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that you may be of one mind, having the same charity, being of one accord, agreeing in sentiment.	2 rendez ma joie parfaite, en ayant les mêmes pensées, un même amour, une même âme, les mêmes sentiments,
3 Let nothing be done through contention, neither by vain glory: but in humility, let each esteem others better than themselves:	3 ne faisant par esprit de parti ni par vaine gloire, mais vous regardant par humilité comme supérieurs les uns aux autres;
4 Each one not considering the things that are his own, but those that are other men's.	4 ne considérant pas chacun ses propres intérêts, mais ceux des autres.
5 For let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:	5 Ayez en vous le même sentiment dont était animé Jésus-Christ,
6 Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:	6 Lui qui, existant en forme de Dieu, n'a pas cru que ce fût pour Lui une usurpation d'être égal à Dieu;
7 But emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men, and in habit found as a man.	7 mais Il S'est anéanti Lui-même, en prenant la forme d'un esclave, en devenant semblable aux hommes, et en Se montrant sous l'apparence d'un homme.
8 He humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross.	8 Il S'est humilié Lui-même, Se faisant obéissant jusqu'à la mort, et la mort de la croix.
9 For which cause God also hath exalted him, and hath given him a name which is above all names:	9 C'est pourquoi Dieu L'a exalté, et Lui a donné un nom qui est au-dessus de tout nom,
10 That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth, and under the earth:	10 afin qu'au nom de Jésus tout genou fléchisse dans le Ciel, sur la terre et dans les enfers,
11 And that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father.	11 et que toute langue confesse que le Seigneur Jésus-Christ est dans la gloire de Dieu le Père.
12 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, (as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence,) with fear and trembling work out your salvation.	12 Ainsi, mes bien-aimés, comme vous avez toujours été obéissants, ayez soin, non seulement en ma présence, mais beaucoup plus maintenant en mon absence, d'opérer votre salut avec crainte et tremblement.
13 For it is God who worketh in you, both to will and to accomplish, according to his good will.	13 Car c'est Dieu qui opère en vous et le vouloir et le faire, selon Son bon plaisir.
14 And do ye all things without murmurings and hesitations;	14 Faites toutes choses sans murmures et sans hésitations,
15 That you may be blameless, and sincere children of God, without reproof, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation; among whom you shine as lights in the world.	15 afin que vous soyez irrépréhensibles et des enfants de Dieu sincères et sans tache au milieu d'une nation dépravée et perverse, parmi laquelle vous brillez comme des astres dans le monde;
16 Holding forth the word of life to my glory in the day of Christ, because I have not run in vain, nor laboured in vain.	16 portant la parole de vie, en sorte que je puisse me glorifier, au jour du Christ, de n'avoir pas couru en vain, ni travaillé en vain.
17 Yea, and if I be made a victim upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice, and congratulate with you all.	17 Mais, dussé-je servir de libation pour le sacrifice et l'offrande de votre foi, je m'en réjouis, et je vous en félicite tous.
18 And for the selfsame thing do you also rejoice, and congratulate with me.	18 Vous aussi, réjouissez-vous, et félicitez-moi.
19 And I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy unto you shortly, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know the things concerning you.	19 J'espère dans le Seigneur Jésus, vous envoyer bientôt Timothée, afin que, moi aussi, je sois encouragé, en apprenant ce qui vous concerne.
20 For I have no man so of the same mind, who with sincere affection is solicitous for you.	20 Car je n'ai personne qui partage comme lui mes sentiments, ni qui témoigne du zèle pour vous avec une affection plus sincère.
21 For all seek the things that are their own; not the things that are Jesus Christ's.	21 Car tous cherchent leurs propres intérêts, non ceux de Jésus-Christ.
22 Now know ye the proof of him, that as a son with the father, so hath he served with me in the gospel.	22 Vous savez qu'il a été mis à l'épreuve, et qu'il s'est mis avec moi au service de l'Evangile, comme un fils avec son père.
23 Him therefore I hope to send unto you immediately, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.	23 J'espère donc vous l'envoyer, aussitôt que je verrai quelle tournure prendront mes affaires.
24 And I trust in the Lord, that I myself also shall come to you shortly.	24 J'ai confiance dans le Seigneur que moi-même j'irai aussi bientôt chez vous.
25 But I have thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow labourer, and fellow soldier, but your apostle, and he that hath ministered to my wants.	25 Cependant, j'ai estimé nécessaire de vous envoyer Epaphrodite, mon frère, mon collaborateur, et mon compagnon de combat, député par vous pour subvenir à mes besoins.
26 For indeed he longed after you all: and was sad, for that you had heard that he was sick.	26 Car il désirait vivement vous voir tous; et il était en peine parce que vous aviez appris qu'il a été malade.
27 For indeed he was sick, nigh unto death; but God had mercy on him; and not only on him, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.	27 En effet, il a été malade jusqu'à la mort, mais Dieu a eu pitié de lui; et non seulement de lui, mais aussi de moi, pour que je n'eusse pas tristesse sur tristesse.
28 Therefore I sent him the more speedily: that seeing him again, you may rejoice, and I may be without sorrow.	28 J'ai donc mis plus d'empressement à l'envoyer, afin qu'en le voyant vous ayez de la joie, et que moi-même je sois sans tristesse.
29 Receive him therefore with all joy in the Lord; and treat with honour such as he is.	29 Accueillez-le donc avec une joie entière dans le Seigneur, et ayez en honneur de pareils hommes;
30 Because for the work of Christ he came to the point of death: delivering his life, that he might fulfil that which on your part was wanting towards my service.	30 car, pour l'oeuvre du Christ, il s'est approché de la mort, exposant sa vie pour suppléer aux services que vous ne pouviez vous-mêmes me rendre.
