1 Unto the end, a psalm for David.	1 Pour la fin, psaume de David.
2 Hear, O God, my prayer, when I make supplication to thee : deliver my soul from the fear of the enemy.	2 Exaucez, ô Dieu, ma prière lorsque je Vous implore; * délivrez mon âme de la crainte de l'ennemi.
3 Thou hast protected me from the assembly of the malignant; from the multitude of the workers of iniquity.	3 Vous m'avez protégé contre l'assemblée des méchants, * contre la multitude de ceux qui commettent l'iniquité.
4 For they have whetted their tongues like a sword; they have bent their bow a bitter thing,	4 Car ils ont aiguisé leurs langues comme un glaive, * et ils ont tendu leur arc, chose amère,
5 to shoot in secret the undefiled.	5 pour percer de flèches l'innocent dans l'obscurité.
6 They will shoot at him on a sudden, and will not fear: they are resolute in wickedness. They have talked of hiding snares; they have said: Who shall see them?	6 Ils le perceront soudain, et ils n'éprouveront aucune crainte; * ils se sont affermis dans leur résolution perverse. Ils se sont concertés pour cacher des pièges; * ils ont dit: Qui les verra?
7 They have searched after iniquities: they have failed in their search. Man shall come to a deep heart:	7 Ils ont inventé des crimes; * ils se sont épuisés dans une profonde recherche. L'homme pénétrera au fond de son coeur, *
8 and God shall be exalted. The arrows of children are their wounds:	8 et Dieu sera exalté. Les blessures qu'ils font sont comme celles des flèches des petits enfants, *
9 and their tongues against them are made weak. All that saw them were troubled;	9 et leurs langues ont perdu leur force en se tournant contre eux-mêmes. Tous ceux qui les voyaient ont été remplis de trouble, *
10 and every man was afraid. And they declared the works of God: and understood his doings.	10 et tout homme a été saisi de frayeur. Et ils ont annoncé les oeuvres de Dieu, * et ils ont compris Ses actes.
11 The just shall rejoice in the Lord, and shall hope in him: and all the upright in heart shall be praised.	11 Le juste se réjouira dans le Seigneur, et espérera en Lui; * et tous ceux qui ont le coeur droit se féliciteront.
