¹ For David himself. Judge thou, O Lord, them that wrong me : overthrow them that fight against me.	¹ De David. Accuse, Yahvé, mes accusateurs, assaille mes assaillants;
² Take hold of arms and shield : and rise up to help me.	² prends armure et bouclier et te lève à mon aide;
³ Bring out the sword, and shut up the way against them that persecute me : say to my soul : I am thy salvation.	³ brandis la lance et la pique contre mes poursuivants. Dis à mon âme: "C'est moi ton salut."
⁴ Let them be confounded and ashamed that seek after my soul. Let them be turned back and be confounded that devise against me.	⁴ Honte et déshonneur sur ceux-là qui cherchent mon âme! Arrière! qu'ils reculent confondus, ceuxqui ruminent mon malheur!
⁵ Let them become as dust before the wind : and let the angel of the Lord straiten them.	⁵ Qu'ils soient de la bale au vent, l'ange de Yahvé les poussant,
⁶ Let their way become dark and slippery; and let the angel of the Lord pursue them.	⁶ que leur chemin soit ténèbre et glissade, l'ange de Yahvé les poursuivant!
⁷ For without cause they have hidden their net for me unto destruction : without cause they have upbraided my soul.	⁷ Sans raison ils m'ont tendu leur filet, creusé pour moi une fosse,
⁸ Let the snare which he knoweth not come upon him : and let the net which he hath hidden catch him : and let the net which he hath hidden catch him : and into that very snare let them fall.	⁸ la ruine vient sur eux sans qu'ils le sachent; le filet qu'ils ont tendu les prendra, dans la fosse ilstomberont.
⁹ But my soul shall rejoice in the Lord; and shall be delighted in his salvation.	⁹ Et mon âme exultera en Yahvé, jubilera en son salut.
¹⁰ All my bones shall say : Lord, who is like to thee? Who deliverest the poor from the hand of them that are stronger than he; the needy and the poor from them that strip him.	¹⁰ Tous mes os diront: Yahvé, qui est comme toi pour délivrer le petit du plus fort, le pauvre duspoliateur?
¹¹ Unjust witnesses rising up have asked me things I knew not.	¹¹ Des témoins de mensonge se lèvent, que je ne connais pas. On me questionne,
¹² They repaid me evil for good : to the depriving me of my soul.	¹² on me rend le mal pour le bien, ma vie devient stérile.
¹³ But as for me, when they were troublesome to me, I was clothed with haircloth. I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer shall be turned into my bosom.	¹³ Et moi, pendant leurs maladies, vêtu d'un sac, je m'humiliais par le jeûne, ma prière revenant dansmon sein,
¹⁴ As a neighbour and as an own brother, so did I please : as one mourning and sorrowful so was I humbled.	¹⁴ comme pour un ami, pour un frère, j'allais çà et là; comme en deuil d'une mère, assombri je mecourbais.
¹⁵ But they rejoiced against me, and came together : scourges were gathered together upon me, and I knew not.	¹⁵ Ils se rient de ma chute, ils s'attroupent, ils s'attroupent contre moi; des étrangers, sans que je lesache, déchirent sans répit;
¹⁶ They were separated, and repented not : they tempted me, they scoffed at me with scorn : they gnashed upon me with their teeth.	¹⁶ si je tombe, ils m'encerclent, ils grincent des dents contre moi.
¹⁷ Lord, when wilt thou look upon me? rescue thou soul from their malice : my only one from the lions.	¹⁷ Seigneur, combien de temps verras-tu cela? Soustrais mon âme à leurs ravages, aux lionceauxmon unique.
¹⁸ I will give thanks to thee in a great church; I will praise thee in a strong people.	¹⁸ Je rendrai grâce dans la grande assemblée, dans un peuple nombreux je te louerai.
¹⁹ Let not them that are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me : who have hated me without cause, and wink with the eyes.	¹⁹ Que ne puissent rire de moi ceux qui m'en veulent à tort, ni se faire des clins d'oeil ceux qui mehaïssent sans cause!
²⁰ For they spoke indeed peaceably to me; and speaking in the anger of the earth they devised guile.	²⁰ Ce n'est point de la paix qu'ils parlent aux paisibles de la terre; ils ruminent de perfides paroles,
²¹ And they opened their mouth wide against me; they said : Well done, well done, our eyes have seen it.	²¹ la bouche large ouverte contre moi; ils disent: Ha! ha! notre oeil a vu!
²² Thou hast seen, O Lord, be not thou silent : O Lord, depart not from me.	²² Tu as vu, Yahvé, ne te tais plus, Seigneur, ne sois pas loin de moi;
²³ Arise, and be attentive to my judgment : to my cause, my God, and my Lord.	²³ éveille-toi, lève-toi, pour mon droit, Seigneur mon Dieu, pour ma cause;
²⁴ Judge me, O Lord my God according to thy justice, and let them not rejoice over me.	²⁴ juge-moi selon ta justice, Yahvé mon Dieu, qu'ils ne se rient de moi!
²⁵ Let them not say in their hearts : It is well, it is well, to our mind : neither let them say : We have swallowed him up.	²⁵ Qu'ils ne disent en leur coeur: Ha! ma foi! qu'ils ne disent: Nous l'avons englouti!
²⁶ Let them blush : and be ashamed together, who rejoice at my evils. Let them be clothed with confusion and shame, who speak great things against me.	²⁶ Honte et déshonneur ensemble sur ceux qui rient de mon malheur; que honte et confusion lescouvrent, ceux qui se grandissent à mes dépens!
²⁷ Let them rejoice and be glad, who are well pleased with my justice, and let them say always : The Lord be magnified, who delights in the peace of his servant.	²⁷ Rires et cris de joie pour ceux-là que réjouit ma justice, ceux-là, qu'ils disent constamment:"Grand est Yahvé que réjouit la paix de son serviteur! "
²⁸ Any my tongue shall meditate thy justice, thy praise all the day long.	²⁸ Et ma langue redira ta justice, tout le jour, ta louange.
