1 Lamed (9,22) Perché, Signore, ti tieni lontano,nei momenti di pericolo ti nascondi?	1 Why, LORD, do you stand at a distance and pay no heed to these troubled times?
2 (9,23) Con arroganza il malvagio perseguita il povero:cadano nelle insidie che hanno tramato!	2 Arrogant scoundrels pursue the poor; they trap them by their cunning schemes.
3 (9,24) Il malvagio si vanta dei suoi desideri,l’avido benedice se stesso.	3 The wicked even boast of their greed; these robbers curse and scorn the LORD.
4 (9,25) Nel suo orgoglio il malvagio disprezza il Signore:«Dio non ne chiede conto, non esiste!»;questo è tutto il suo pensiero.	4 In their insolence the wicked boast: "God doesn't care, doesn't even exist."
5 (9,26) Le sue vie vanno sempre a buon fine,troppo in alto per lui sono i tuoi giudizi:con un soffio spazza via i suoi avversari.	5 Yet their affairs always succeed; they ignore your judgment on high; they sneer at all who oppose them.
6 (9,27) Egli pensa: «Non sarò mai scosso,vivrò sempre senza sventure».	6 They say in their hearts, "We will never fall; never will we see misfortune."
7 Pe (9,28) Di spergiuri, di frodi e d’inganni ha piena la bocca,sulla sua lingua sono cattiveria e prepotenza.	7 Their mouths are full of oaths, violence, and lies; discord and evil are under their tongues.
8 (9,29) Sta in agguato dietro le siepi,dai nascondigli uccide l’innocente.Ain I suoi occhi spiano il misero,	8 They wait in ambush near towns; their eyes watch for the helpless. to murder the innocent in secret.
9 (9,30) sta in agguato di nascosto come un leone nel covo.Sta in agguato per ghermire il povero,ghermisce il povero attirandolo nella rete.	9 They lurk in ambush like lions in a thicket, hide there to trap the poor, snare them and close the net.
10 (9,31) Si piega e si acquatta,cadono i miseri sotto i suoi artigli.	10 The helpless are crushed, laid low; they fall into the power of the wicked,
11 (9,32) Egli pensa: «Dio dimentica,nasconde il volto, non vede più nulla».	11 Who say in their hearts, "God pays no attention, shows no concern, never bothers to look."
12 Kof (9,33) Sorgi, Signore Dio, alza la tua mano,non dimenticare i poveri.	12 Rise up, LORD God! Raise your arm! Do not forget the poor!
13 (9,34) Perché il malvagio disprezza Dioe pensa: «Non ne chiederai conto»?	13 Why should the wicked scorn God, say in their hearts, "God doesn't care"?
14 Res (9,35) Eppure tu vedi l’affanno e il dolore,li guardi e li prendi nelle tue mani.A te si abbandona il misero,dell’orfano tu sei l’aiuto.	14 But you do see; you do observe this misery and sorrow; you take the matter in hand. To you the helpless can entrust their cause; you are the defender of orphans.
15 Sin (9,36) Spezza il braccio del malvagio e dell’empio,cercherai il suo peccato e più non lo troverai.	15 Break the arms of the wicked and depraved; make them account for their crimes; let none of them survive.
16 (9,37) Il Signore è re in eterno, per sempre:dalla sua terra sono scomparse le genti.	16 The LORD is king forever; the nations have vanished from God's land.
17 Tau (9,38) Tu accogli, Signore, il desiderio dei poveri,rafforzi i loro cuori, porgi l’orecchio,	17 You listen, LORD, to the needs of the poor; you encourage them and hear their prayers.
18 (9,39) perché sia fatta giustizia all’orfano e all’oppresso,e non continui più a spargere terrore l’uomo fatto di terra.	18 You win justice for the orphaned and oppressed; no one on earth will cause terror again.
