1 Del maestro de coro. «No destruyas». De David. Mictán.	1 [For the choirmaster Tune: 'Do not destroy' Of David In a quiet voice] Divine as you are, do you trulygive upright verdicts? do you judge fairly the children of Adam?
2 ¿Acaso ustedes, los poderosos, pronuncian realmente sentencias justas y gobiernan a los hombres con rectitud?	2 No! You devise injustice in your hearts, and with your hands you administer tyranny on the earth.
3 ¡No! Ustedes cometen injusticias a plena conciencia y favorecen la opresión en la tierra.	3 Since the womb they have gone astray, the wicked, on the wrong path since their birth, with theirunjust verdicts.
4 Los impíos están extraviados desde el seno materno; desde su nacimiento se descarriaron los impostores.	4 They are poisonous as any snake, deaf as an adder that blocks its ears
5 Tienen un veneno semejante al de las víboras; son como una serpiente sorda, que cierra los oídos,	5 so as not to hear the magician's music, however skilful his spel s.
6 para no oír la voz del encantador, la voz del mago que ejerce su arte con destreza.	6 God, break the teeth in their mouths, snap off the fangs of these young lions, Yahweh.
7 Rómpeles, Dios mío, los dientes en la boca; arráncales, Señor, esos colmillos de leones.	7 May they drain away like water running to waste, may they wither like trampled grass,
8 Que se diluyan como agua que se evapora; que se marchiten como hierba pisoteada.	8 like the slug that melts as it moves or a still-born child that never sees the sun.
9 Sean como una babosa que se deshace al pasar, como un aborto de mujer que no llegó a ver el sol.	9 Before they sprout thorns like the bramble, green or burnt up, may retribution whirl them away.
10 Que los arrastre el vendaval –verdes o quemados– antes que produzcan espinas como una zarza.	10 The upright wil rejoice to see vengeance done, and wil bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.
11 El justo se alegrará al contemplar la Venganza y lavará sus pies en la sangre de los impíos.	11 'So', people wil say, 'the upright does have a reward; there is a God to dispense justice on earth.'
12 Entonces dirán los hombres: «Sí, el justo recibe su recompensa; sí, hay un Dios que hace justicia en la tierra».
