1 C’est alors qu’on mit Jésus au courant d’un massacre de Galiléens: Pilate avait fait couler leur sang là-même où ils sacrifiaient leurs victimes.	1 And there were present, at that very time, some who were reporting about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate mixed with their sacrifices.
2 Jésus alors leur dit: "Croyez-vous que ces Galiléens étaient plus pécheurs que tous les autres Galiléens pour avoir eu ce sort?	2 And responding, he said to them: “Do you think that these Galileans must have sinned more than all other Galileans, because they suffered so much?
3 Non, je vous le dis; mais si vous ne vous convertissez pas, vous périrez tous pareillement!	3 No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you will all perish similarly.
4 “Et les 18 personnes de Siloé sur qui la tour est tombée, et qui ont été tuées, étaient-elles plus coupables que tous les autres habitants de Jérusalem?	4 And those eighteen upon whom the tower of Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they also were greater transgressors than all the men living in Jerusalem?
5 Non, je vous le dis; mais si vous ne vous convertissez pas, vous périrez tous pareillement!”	5 No, I tell you. But if you do not repent, you will all perish similarly.”
6 Jésus leur dit cette parabole: "Un homme avait un figuier planté dans sa vigne; il vint pour y chercher du fruit et il n’en trouva pas.	6 And he also told this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree, which was planted in his vineyard. And he came seeking fruit on it, but found none.
7 il dit alors à celui qui soignait la vigne: Voilà trois ans que je viens chercher des fruits sur ce figuier, et je n’en trouve pas. Coupe-le donc, il ne fait qu’épuiser la terre!	7 Then he said to the cultivator of the vineyard: ‘Behold, for these three years I came seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I have found none. Therefore, cut it down. For why should it even occupy the land?’
8 Mais l’autre répondit: Maître, laisse-le encore cette année, je piocherai tout autour et je mettrai du fumier.	8 But in response, he said to him: ‘Lord, let it be for this year also, during which time I will dig around it and add fertilizer.
9 Peut-être après cela donnera-t-il du fruit; sinon, tu le couperas.”	9 And, indeed, it should bear fruit. But if not, in the future, you shall cut it down.’ ”
10 Un jour de sabbat, Jésus était en train d’enseigner dans une synagogue	10 Now he was teaching in their synagogue on the Sabbaths.
11 lorsque arriva une femme toute courbée; un esprit la tenait malade depuis déjà 18 ans et elle était totalement incapable de se redresser.	11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years. And she was bent over; and she was unable to look upwards at all.
12 Dès que Jésus la voit, il l’interpelle: "Femme, te voici délivrée de ton infirmité!”	12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to himself, and he said to her, “Woman, you are released from your infirmity.”
13 Jésus lui impose les mains, et aussitôt elle se redresse, rendant gloire à Dieu.	13 And he laid his hands upon her, and immediately she was straightened, and she glorified God.
14 Mais le chef de la synagogue intervient, scandalisé, car Jésus l’a guérie un jour de sabbat, et il dit à la foule: "Il y a six jours pour travailler; venez ces jours-là pour vous faire guérir mais pas le jour du sabbat!”	14 Then, as a result, the ruler of the synagogue became angry that Jesus had cured on the Sabbath, and he said to the crowd: “There are six days on which you ought to work. Therefore, come and be cured on those, and not on the day of the Sabbath.”
15 Le Seigneur lui répond en ces termes: "Comme vous êtes faux! Chacun de vous ne détache-t-il pas de la mangeoire son bœuf ou son âne, même le jour du sabbat, pour le conduire à l’abreuvoir?	15 Then the Lord said to him in response: “You hypocrites! Does not each one of you, on the Sabbath, release his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it to water?
16 Et vous avez là une fille d’Abraham que Satan avait liée voici 18 ans: le sabbat n’était-il pas justement le jour pour la délier de son mal?”	16 So then, should not this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound for lo these eighteen years, be released from this restraint on the day of the Sabbath?”
17 Après ces paroles de Jésus, ses adversaires ne savaient plus que dire, mais tout le public était en joie pour tant de merveilles qu’on lui voyait faire.	17 And as he was saying these things, all his adversaries were ashamed. And all the people rejoiced in everything that was being done gloriously by him.
18 Il disait donc: "À quoi comparer le Royaume de Dieu, quelle image puis-je en donner?	18 And so he said: “To what is the kingdom of God similar, and to what figure shall I compare it?
19 Il est tout comme la graine de moutarde qu’un homme a prise pour la semer dans son jardin; elle a grandi et elle est devenue un arbre, si bien que les oiseaux du ciel se sont abrités dans ses branches.”	19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and cast into his garden. And it grew, and it became a great tree, and the birds of the air rested in its branches.”
20 De nouveau Jésus leur dit: "Quelle image puis-je donner du Royaume de Dieu?	20 And again, he said: “To what figure shall I compare the kingdom of God?
21 Il est tout comme le levain qu’une femme prend et enfouit dans trois mesures de farine jusqu’à ce que tout soit levé.”	21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of fine wheat flour, until it was entirely leavened.”
22 Jésus faisait route vers Jérusalem, et il continuait d’enseigner tout en traversant villes et villages.	22 And he was traveling through the cities and towns, teaching and making his way to Jerusalem.
23 Quelqu’un lui dit: "Seigneur, est-ce vrai que peu de gens seront sauvés?” Il répondit:	23 And someone said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” But he said to them:
24 "Efforcez-vous d’entrer par la porte étroite car, je vous le dis, beaucoup chercheront à entrer et ne pourront pas.	24 “Strive to enter through the narrow gate. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and not be able.
25 “Quand le maître de maison se sera levé pour fermer la porte, vous serez là dehors et vous appellerez à la porte: ‘Seigneur, ouvre-nous donc!’ Mais lui vous répondra: ‘Je ne sais pas d’où vous êtes.’	25 Then, when the father of the family will have entered and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us.’ And in response, he will say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’
26 Alors vous direz: ‘Nous avons mangé et bu avec toi, tu as enseigné sur nos places!’	26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
27 Mais lui dira: ‘Je ne sais pas d’où vous êtes: éloignez-vous de moi, vous qui travaillez pour le mal.’	27 And he will say to you: ‘I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity!’
28 “Alors il y aura pleurs et grincements de dents, lorsque vous verrez Abraham, Isaac et Jacob avec tous les prophètes dans le Royaume de Dieu, et vous pendant ce temps, mis à la porte!	28 In that place, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, yet you yourselves are expelled outside.
29 Et d’autres viendront de l’orient et de l’occident, du nord et du midi pour s’installer à la table dans le Royaume de Dieu.	29 And they will arrive from the East, and the West, and the North, and the South; and they will recline at table in the kingdom of God.
30 Quelle surprise: certains qui étaient parmi les derniers se retrouvent premiers, et d’autres qui étaient premiers sont les derniers!”	30 And behold, those who are last will be first, and those who are first will be last.”
31 À ce moment plusieurs Pharisiens s’approchèrent et lui dirent: "Ne reste pas ici, poursuis ta route, car Hérode cherche à te tuer!”	31 On the same day, some of the Pharisees approached, saying to him: “Depart, and go away from here. For Herod wishes to kill you.”
32 Il leur répondit: "Allez dire à ce renard: ‘Aujourd’hui et demain je chasse les démons et je fais des guérisons; c’est au troisième jour que j’arrive à ma fin.’	32 And he said to them: “Go and tell that fox: ‘Behold, I cast out demons and accomplish healings, today and tomorrow. And on the third day I reach the end.’
33 Mais je dois poursuivre mon chemin aujourd’hui, demain et le jour suivant, car un prophète ne peut pas mourir ailleurs qu’à Jérusalem!	33 Yet truly, it is necessary for me to walk today and tomorrow and the following day. For it does not fall to a prophet to perish beyond Jerusalem.
34 “Jérusalem! Jérusalem! Tu assassines les prophètes et reçois à coups de pierre ceux qui te sont envoyés! Combien de fois ai-je voulu rassembler tes enfants, comme l’oiseau couvre ses petits de ses ailes; mais vous n’avez pas voulu.	34 Jerusalem, Jerusalem! You kill the prophets, and you stone those who are sent to you. Daily, I wanted to gather together your children, in the manner of a bird with her nest under her wings, but you were not willing!
35 Vous vous retrouverez seuls avec votre Maison. Oui, je vous l’affirme, vous ne me verrez plus jusqu’au temps où vous direz: Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur!”	35 Behold, your house will be left desolate for you. But I say to you, that you shall not see me, until it happens that you say: ‘Blessed is he who has arrived in the name of the Lord.’ ”
