1 « Per questo il mio cuore tremò e balzò fuori dal suo posto.	1 At this my heart trembleth, and is moved out of its place.
2 Udite, udite tra lo spavento la sua voce, e il rombo che vien fuori dalla sua bocca!	2 Hear ye attentively the terror of his voice, and the sound that cometh out of his mouth.
3 Egli gira il suo sguardo sotto tutti i cieli, e la sua luce va fino all'estremità della terra.	3 He beholdeth under all the heavens, and his light is upon the ends of the earth.
4 Dietro di lui rugge il suono, egli tuona colla voce della sua grandezza; e udita la sua voce, non si potrà seguirne la traccia.	4 After it a noise shall roar, he shall thunder with the voice of his majesty, and shall not be found out, when his voice shall be heard.
5 Dio tonerà mirabilmente colla sua voce. Egli fa grandi e imperscrutabili cose.	5 God shall thunder wonderfully with his voice, he that doth great and unsearchable things.
6 Egli comanda alla neve di cadere sulla terra, alle piogge invernali, alle impetuose procelle.	6 He commandeth the snow to go down upon the earth, and the winter rain, and the shower of his strength.
7 Egli mette un sigillo sulla mano d'ogni uomo, affinchè ciascuno conosca le sue opere.	7 He sealeth up the hand of all men, that every one may know his works.
8 La fiera si ritira nella sua tana, e sta ferma nel suo covile.	8 Then the beast shall go into his covert, and shall abide in his den.
9 La tempesta esce dai recessi, il freddo dal settentrione.	9 Out of the inner parts shall a tempest come, and cold out of the north.
10 Al soffio di Dio il ghiaccio s'indurisce, e di nuovo si sciolgono in abbondanza le nevi,	10 When God bloweth there cometh frost, and again the waters are poured out abundantly.
11 il frumento brama le nuvole, e le nuvole spandono la loro luce.	11 Corn desireth clouds, and the clouds spread their light :
12 ESse vanno errando all'intorno, dovunque le guidi il volere di Colui che le governa, per eseguire i suoi ordini sulla superficie della terra,	12 Which go round about, whithersoever the will of him that governeth them shall lead them, to whatsoever he shall command them upon the face of the whole earth :
13 sia in una tribù, sia nella sua terra, sia in qualche altro luogo in cui la sua misericordia avrà loro ordinato di trovarsi.	13 Whether in one tribe, or in his own land, or in what place soever of his mercy he shall command them to be found.
14 Ascolta, o Giobbe, queste cose, fermati a considerare le maraviglie di Dio.	14 Hearken to these things, Job : Stand, and consider the wondrous works of God.
15 Sai forse quando Dio abbia comandato alle piogge di far apparire la luce delle sue nuvole?	15 Dost thou know when God commanded the rains, to shew his light of his clouds?
16 Hai tu conosciute le grandi vie delle nubi e le scienze perfette?	16 Knowest thou the great paths of the clouds, and the perfect knowledges?
17 Non sono forse calde le tue vesti quando l'austro soffia sopra la terra?	17 Are not thy garments hot, when the south wind blows upon the earth?
18 Hai forse con lui fabbricati i cieli, che sono saldissimi come se fossero gettati in bronzo?	18 Thou perhaps hast made the heavens with him, which are most strong, as if they were of molten brass.
19 Insegnaci quello che potremo dirgli, giacché noi siamo involti nelle tenebre.	19 Shew us what we may say to him : for we are wrapped up in darkness.
20 Chi gli racconterà quello che dico io? Se un uomo ardirà parlargli, resterà annientato.	20 Who shall tell him the things I speak? even if a man shall speak, he shall be swallowed up.
21 Ma ora gli uomini non vedono la luce; l'aria all'improvviso s'addensa di nubi: il vento che passa le dissiperà.	21 But now they see not the light : the air on a sudden shall be thickened into clouds, and the wind shall pass and drive them away.
22 L'oro viene dal settentrione, e a Dio si rende lode con timore.	22 Cold cometh out of the north, and to God praise with fear.
23 Noi non possiamo degnamente arrivare a lui. Egli è grande nella potenza, nel giudizio e nella giustizia, ed è ineffabile.	23 We cannot find him worthily : he is great in strength, and in judgment, and in justice, and he is ineffable.
24 Per questo gli uomini lo temeranno, e nessuno di quelli che si credono saggi ardirà contemplarlo ».	24 Therefore men shall fear him, and all that seem to themselves to be wise, shall not dare to behold him.
