Siracide 15

LA SACRA BIBBIA	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Chi teme il Signore farà tutto questo, e chi possiede la legge ha la sapienza.	1 He that feareth the Lord will do good, and he that hath the knowledge of the law shall obtain her.
2 Questa gli andrà incontro come madre, l'attenderà come vergine sposa,	2 And as a mother shall she meet him, and receive him as a wife married of a virgin.
3 lo nutrirà col pane della comprensione, lo disseterà con l'acqua dell'intelligenza.	3 With the bread of understanding shall she feed him, and give him the water of wisdom to drink.
4 Ad essa si appoggerà e non vacillerà, in essa confiderà e non sarà deluso.	4 He shall be stayed upon her, and shall not be moved; and shall rely upon her, and shall not be confounded.
5 Essa l'esalterà tra i suoi vicini, gli aprirà la bocca in mezzo all'assemblea.	5 She shall exalt him above his neighbours, and in the midst of the congregation shall she open his mouth.
6 Egli troverà letizia e corona d'allegrezza, avrà in eredità un nome duraturo.	6 He shall find joy and a crown of gladness, and she shall cause him to inherit an everlasting name.
7 Gli stolti non la raggiungeranno, i peccatori non la vedranno.	7 But foolish men shall not attain unto her, and sinners shall not see her.
8 E' lontana dall'arroganza, i bugiardi non la ricorderanno.	8 For she is far from pride, and men that are liars cannot remember her.
9 La lode non s'addice in bocca al peccatore, perché non gli è stata destinata dal Signore.	9 Praise is not seemly in the mouth of a sinner, for it was not sent him of the Lord.
10 La lode, infatti, suppone la sapienza, ed è il Signore che la concede.	10 For praise shall be uttered in wisdom, and the Lord will prosper it.
11 Non dire: "Ho peccato per opera del Signore", perché egli non fa quello che odia.	11 Say not thou, It is through the Lord that I fell away: for thou oughtest not to do the things that he hateth.
12 Non dire: "Lui mi ha sedotto", perché non gli serve l'uomo peccatore.	12 Say not thou, He hath caused me to err: for he hath no need of the sinful man.
13 Il Signore odia ogni abominio: esso non è amato da quanti lo temono.	13 The Lord hateth all abomination; and they that fear God love it not.
14 Egli ha fatto l'uomo dal principio e l'ha lasciato in balìa del suo consiglio.	14 He himself made man from the beginning, and left him in the hand of his counsel;
15 Se vuoi, osserva i comandamenti, chi ha buona volontà pratica la fedeltà.	15 If thou wilt, to keep the commandments, and to perform acceptable faithfulness.
16 Egli ti ha messo davanti il fuoco e l'acqua: dove tu vuoi, stendi la mano.	16 He hath set fire and water before thee: stretch forth thy hand unto whether thou wilt.
17 Davanti all'uomo, la vita e la morte, quanto desidera gli viene dato.	17 Before man is life and death; and whether him liketh shall be given him.
18 La sapienza del Signore è grande: forte in potenza, lui vede tutto.	18 For the wisdom of the Lord is great, and he is mighty in power, and beholdeth all things:
19 I suoi occhi sopra quelli che lo temono, egli osserva tutta l'opera dell'uomo.	19 And his eyes are upon them that fear him, and he knoweth every work of man.
20 A nessuno ha comandato l'empietà, a nessuno ha dato la facoltà di peccare.	20 He hath commanded no man to do wickedly, neither hath he given any man licence to sin.
