Ephesians 6

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is just.	1 - O figliuoli, obbedite ai vostri genitori nel Signore, perchè questo è giusto.
2 Honor your father and your mother. This is the first commandment with a promise:	2 Onora tuo padre e tua madre, ecco il primo comandamento nella promessa,
3 so that it may be well with you, and so that you may have a long life upon the earth.	3 perchè tu abbia bene e abbia lunga vita sulla terra.
4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but educate them with the discipline and correction of the Lord.	4 E voi, padri, non provocate ad ira i vostri figliuoli, ma allevateli nella disciplina e negli ammonimenti del Signore.
5 Servants, be obedient to your lords according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the simplicity of your heart, as to Christ.	5 O servi, obbedite ai vostri padroni secondo la carne con timore e tremore nella semplicità del vostro cuore come a Cristo,
6 Do not serve only when seen, as if to please men, but act as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.	6 non servendo solo all'occhio come chi vuol piacere agli uomini, ma come servi di Cristo, facendo la volontà di Dio di cuore,
7 Serve with good will, as to the Lord, and not to men.	7 servendo con buona volontà come a Dio non come ad uomini,
8 For you know that whatever good each one will do, the same will he receive from the Lord, whether he is servant or free.	8 sapendo che ciascuno se fa il bene, bene riceverà dal Signore, schiavo o libero che sia.
9 And you, lords, act similarly toward them, setting aside threats, knowing that the Lord of both you and them is in heaven. For with him there is no favoritism toward anyone.	9 E voi, padroni, fate lo stesso coi servi, astenendovi dalle minacce, sapendo che il Padrone loro e di voi è nei cieli, e non è appo lui accettazione di persone.
10 Concerning the rest, brothers, be strengthened in the Lord, by the power of his virtue.	10 Del resto, fratelli, siate forti nel Signore e nel potere della forza di lui.
11 Be clothed in the armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the treachery of the devil.	11 Rivestitevi dell'armatura di Dio per potere affrontare le insidie del diavolo,
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the directors of this world of darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in high places.	12 poichè non è la nostra lotta col sangue e colla carne, ma contro i dominatori del mondo delle tenebre, contro gli spiriti maligni dell'aria.
13 Because of this, take up the armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand the evil day and remain perfect in all things.	13 Per questo prendete l'armatura di Dio affinchè possiate resistere nel giorno cattivo e, compiuto il vostro dovere, restar in piedi.
14 Therefore, stand firm, having been girded about your waist with truth, and having been clothed with the breastplate of justice,	14 Saldi dunque, cingendo i vostri lombi nella verità e indossando la corazza della giustizia,
15 and having feet which have been shod by the preparation of the Gospel of peace.	15 e calzando i piedi nella preparazione che dà il Vangelo della pace;
16 In all things, take up the shield of faith, with which you may be able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the most wicked one.	16 in ogni cosa impugnando lo scudo della fede, su cui possiate spegnere tutti i dardi infocati del maligno.
17 And take up the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit (which is the Word of God).	17 E prendete su anche l'elmo della salvezza e la spada dello Spirito, che è la parola di Dio;
18 Through every kind of prayer and supplication, pray at all times in spirit, and so be vigilant with every kind of earnest supplication, for all the saints,	18 con ogni preghiera e supplicazione, pregando in ogni tempo in ispirito, e vegliando allo stesso fine con incessante perseveranza e supplicazione a pro dei santi tutti
19 and also for me, so that words may be given to me, as I open my mouth with faith to make known the mystery of the Gospel,	19 e per me, affinchè nell'aprir bocca siami concessa la parola per far conoscere francamente il mistero del Vangelo,
20 in such a manner that I may dare to speak exactly as I ought to speak. For I act as an ambassador in chains for the Gospel.	20 per il quale sono ambasciatore nei ceppi, sì che io possa in caso usare tutta la libertà di parola come è conveniente.
21 Now, so that you also may know the things that concern me and what I am doing, Tychicus, a most beloved brother and a faithful minister in the Lord, will make known everything to you.	21 E affinchè sappiate anche voi le cose mie, e come me la passo, d'ogni cosa v'informerà Tichico il caro fratello e fedele ministro nel Signore,
22 I have sent him to you for this very reason, so that you may know the things that concern us, and so that he may console your hearts.	22 che ho mandato a voi appunto a questo scopo che voi conosciate le cose nostre e perchè conforti i vostri cuori.
23 Peace to the brothers, and charity with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	23 Pace ai fratelli e amore con fede da Dio Padre e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.
24 May grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ, unto incorruption. Amen.	24 La grazia sia con tutti quelli che, senza lasciarsi corrompere, amano il Signore nostro Gesù Cristo. Così sia.
