Ephesians 6

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is just.	1 Figliuoli, ubbidite nel Signore a’ vostri padri e madri, perciocchè ciò è giusto.
2 Honor your father and your mother. This is the first commandment with a promise:	2 Onora tuo padre, e tua madre che è il primo comandamento con promessa,
3 so that it may be well with you, and so that you may have a long life upon the earth.	3 acciocchè ti sia bene, e tu sii di lunga vita sopra la terra.
4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but educate them with the discipline and correction of the Lord.	4 E voi, padri, non provocate ad ira i vostri figliuoli; ma allevateli in disciplina, ed ammonizion del Signore.
5 Servants, be obedient to your lords according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the simplicity of your heart, as to Christ.	5 Servi, ubbidite a’ vostri signori secondo la carne, con timore, e tremore, nella semplicità del cuor vostro, come a Cristo.
6 Do not serve only when seen, as if to please men, but act as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.	6 Non servendo all’occhio, come per piacere agli uomini; ma, come servi di Cristo, facendo il voler di Dio d’animo;
7 Serve with good will, as to the Lord, and not to men.	7 servendo con benivoglienza, come a Cristo, e non come agli uomini;
8 For you know that whatever good each one will do, the same will he receive from the Lord, whether he is servant or free.	8 sapendo che del bene che ciascuno, o servo o franco ch’egli sia, avrà fatto, egli ne riceverà la retribuzion dal Signore.
9 And you, lords, act similarly toward them, setting aside threats, knowing that the Lord of both you and them is in heaven. For with him there is no favoritism toward anyone.	9 E voi, signori, fate par pari inverso loro, rallentando le minacce; sapendo che il Signore, e vostro, e loro, è ne’ cieli; e che dinanzi a lui non v’è riguardo alla qualità delle persone
10 Concerning the rest, brothers, be strengthened in the Lord, by the power of his virtue.	10 NEL rimanente, fratelli miei, fortificatevi nel Signore, e nella forza della sua possanza.
11 Be clothed in the armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the treachery of the devil.	11 Vestite tutta l’armatura di Dio, per poter dimorar ritti, e fermi contro alle insidie del diavolo.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the directors of this world of darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in high places.	12 Poichè noi non abbiamo il combattimento contro a sangue e carne; ma contro a’ principati, contro alle podestà, contro a’ rettori del mondo, e delle tenebre di questo secolo, contro agli spiriti maligni, ne’ luoghi celesti.
13 Because of this, take up the armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand the evil day and remain perfect in all things.	13 Perciò, prendete tutta l’armatura di Dio, acciocchè possiate contrastare nel giorno malvagio; e dopo aver compiuta ogni cosa, restar ritti in piè.
14 Therefore, stand firm, having been girded about your waist with truth, and having been clothed with the breastplate of justice,	14 Presentatevi adunque al combattimento, cinti di verità intorno a’ lombi, e vestiti dell’usbergo della giustizia;
15 and having feet which have been shod by the preparation of the Gospel of peace.	15 ed avendo i piedi calzati della preparazione dell’evangelo della pace.
16 In all things, take up the shield of faith, with which you may be able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the most wicked one.	16 Sopra tutto, prendendo lo scudo della fede, col quale possiate spegnere tutti i dardi infocati del maligno.
17 And take up the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit (which is the Word of God).	17 Pigliate ancora l’elmo della salute; e la spada dello Spirito, che è la parola di Dio.
18 Through every kind of prayer and supplication, pray at all times in spirit, and so be vigilant with every kind of earnest supplication, for all the saints,	18 Orando in ogni tempo, con ogni maniera di preghiera, e supplicazione, in Ispirito; ed a questo stesso vegliando, con ogni perseveranza, ed orazione per tutti i santi
19 and also for me, so that words may be given to me, as I open my mouth with faith to make known the mystery of the Gospel,	19 E per me ancora, acciocchè mi sia data parola con apertura di bocca, per far conoscere con libertà il misterio dell’evangelo.
20 in such a manner that I may dare to speak exactly as I ought to speak. For I act as an ambassador in chains for the Gospel.	20 Per lo quale io sono ambasciatore in catena; acciocchè io l’annunzii francamente, come mi convien parlare.
21 Now, so that you also may know the things that concern me and what I am doing, Tychicus, a most beloved brother and a faithful minister in the Lord, will make known everything to you.	21 OR acciocchè ancora voi sappiate lo stato mio, e ciò che io fo, Tichico, il caro fratello, e fedel ministro nel Signore, vi farà assapere il tutto.
22 I have sent him to you for this very reason, so that you may know the things that concern us, and so that he may console your hearts.	22 Il quale io ho mandato a voi a questo stesso fine, acciocchè voi sappiate lo stato nostro, e ch’egli consoli i cuori vostri.
23 Peace to the brothers, and charity with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	23 Pace a’ fratelli, e carità con fede, da Dio Padre, e dal Signor Gesù Cristo.
24 May grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ, unto incorruption. Amen.	24 La grazia sia con tutti quelli che amano il Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, in purità incorruttibile. Amen
