Psalms 91

1 A Canticle Psalm. On the day of the Sabbath.	1 (Salmo. Cantico. Nel giorno di sabato).
2 It is good to confess to the Lord and to sing psalms to your name, O Most High:	2 E' bello dar lode al Signore, cantar inni al tuo nome, o Altissimo,
3 to announce your mercy in the morning, and your truth throughout the night,	3 Per proclamare al mattino la tua misericordia, e la tua fedeltà durante la notte,
4 upon the ten strings, upon the psaltery, with a canticle, upon stringed instruments.	4 Sul decacordo, sul salterò, col canto sulla cetra.
5 For you, O Lord, have delighted me with your doings, and I will exult in the works of your hands.	5 Mi hai fatto rallegrare, o Signore, colle cose da te create, ed io esulterò per le opere delle tue mani.
6 How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts have been made exceedingly deep.	6 Come son magnifiche le tue opere, o Signore! Quanto son profondi i tuoi pensieri!
7 A foolish man will not know these things, and a senseless one will not understand:	7 L'insensato non lo riconoscerà, lo stolto non capirà queste cose.
8 when sinners will have risen up like grass, and when all those who work iniquity will have appeared, that they shall pass away, age after age.	8 Sebbene i peccatori sian venuti su come l'erba, e faccian comparsa tutti gli operatori d'iniquità, essi periranno per sempre;
9 But you, O Lord, are the Most High for all eternity.	9 Tu invece sei l'Altissimo in eterno, o Signore.
10 For behold your enemies, O Lord, for behold your enemies will perish, and all those who work iniquity will be dispersed.	10 Infatti i tuoi nemici, o Signore, i tuoi nemici, ecco, periranno, e tutti gli operatori d'iniquità saran dispersi.
11 And my horn will be exalted like that of the single-horned beast, and my old age will be exalted in fruitful mercy.	11 E sarà esaltata la mia forza come quella del liocorno, e la mia vecchiaia per copiosa misericordia.
12 And my eye has looked down upon my enemies, and my ear will hear of the malignant rising up against me.	12 Il mio occhio può guardare con disprezzo i miei nemici, e il mio orecchio sentirà parlare dei maligni insorti contro di me.
13 The just one will flourish like the palm tree. He will be multiplied like the cedar of Lebanon.	13 Il giusto fiorirà come palma, crescerà come il cedro del Libano.
14 Those planted in the house of the Lord will flourish in the courts of the house of our God.	14 Trapiantati nella casa del Signore, fioriranno negli atrii della casa del nostro Dio.
15 They will still be multiplied in a fruitful old age, and they will endure well,	15 Si moltiplicheranno anche in feconda vecchiaia, e si troveranno in sì buone condizioni
16 so that they may announce that the Lord our God is righteous and that there is no iniquity in him.	16 Da proclamare che retto è il Signore Dio nostro e che in lui non c'è ingiustizia.
