CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINNOVA VULGATA
1 A Canticle Psalm. On the day of the Sabbath.1 Qui habitat in protectione Altissimi,
sub umbra Omnipotentis commorabitur.
2 It is good to confess to the Lord and to sing psalms to your name, O Most High:2 Dicet Domino: “ Refugium meum
et fortitudo mea, Deus meus, sperabo in eum ”.
3 to announce your mercy in the morning, and your truth throughout the night,3 Quoniam ipse liberabit te de laqueo venantium
et a verbo maligno.
4 upon the ten strings, upon the psaltery, with a canticle, upon stringed instruments.4 Alis suis obumbrabit tibi,
et sub pennas eius confugies;
scutum et lorica veritas eius.
5 For you, O Lord, have delighted me with your doings, and I will exult in the works of your hands.5 Non timebis a timore nocturno,
a sagitta volante in die,
6 How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts have been made exceedingly deep.6 a peste perambulante in tenebris,
ab exterminio vastante in meridie.
7 A foolish man will not know these things, and a senseless one will not understand:7 Cadent a latere tuo mille
et decem milia a dextris tuis;
ad te autem non appropinquabit.
8 when sinners will have risen up like grass, and when all those who work iniquity will have appeared, that they shall pass away, age after age.8 Verumtamen oculis tuis considerabis
et retributionem peccatorum videbis.
9 But you, O Lord, are the Most High for all eternity.9 Quoniam tu es, Domine, refugium meum.
Altissimum posuisti habitaculum tuum.
10 For behold your enemies, O Lord, for behold your enemies will perish, and all those who work iniquity will be dispersed.10 Non accedet ad te malum,
et flagellum non appropinquabit tabernaculo tuo,
11 And my horn will be exalted like that of the single-horned beast, and my old age will be exalted in fruitful mercy.11 quoniam angelis suis mandabit de te,
ut custodiant te in omnibus viis tuis.
12 And my eye has looked down upon my enemies, and my ear will hear of the malignant rising up against me.12 In manibus portabunt te,
ne forte offendas ad lapidem pedem tuum.
13 The just one will flourish like the palm tree. He will be multiplied like the cedar of Lebanon.13 Super aspidem et basiliscum ambulabis
et conculcabis leonem et draconem.
14 Those planted in the house of the Lord will flourish in the courts of the house of our God.14 Quoniam mihi adhaesit, liberabo eum;
suscipiam eum, quoniam cognovit nomen meum.
15 They will still be multiplied in a fruitful old age, and they will endure well,15 Clamabit ad me, et ego exaudiam eum;
cum ipso sum in tribulatione;
eripiam eum et glorificabo eum.
16 so that they may announce that the Lord our God is righteous and that there is no iniquity in him.16 Longitudine dierum replebo eum
et ostendam illi salutare meum.
