1 Der Herr sprach zu Moses:	1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 "Rede zur ganzen Gemeinde der Israeliten und befiehl ihnen: Heilig müßt ihr sein, weil ich, der Herr, euer Gott, heilig bin!	2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.
3 Habt Ehrfurcht, ein jeder vor seiner Mutter und vor seinem Vater! Meine Ruhetage sollt ihr beobachten: Ich bin der Herr, euer Gott!	3 Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.
4 Wendet euch nicht den Götzen zu, und macht euch keine gegossenen Götter: denn ich bin der Herr, euer Gott!	4 Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.
5 Wenn ihr dem Herrn ein Friedopfer darbringt, sollt ihr es so opfern, daß ihr Wohlgefallen erlangt.	5 And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will.
6 Am Tag, an dem ihr es opfert, und am Tag darauf muß es gegessen werden; was bis zum dritten Tage übrigbleibt, werde im Feuer verbrannt.	6 It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.
7 Wenn es am dritten Tage doch noch gegessen wird, ist es verdorbenes Fleisch und nicht wohlgefällig.	7 And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.
8 Wer es genießt, lädt Verschuldung auf sich; denn er hat das dem Herrn Geheiligte entweiht. Eine solche Person werde aus ihrem Volke ausgerottet!	8 Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
9 Wenn ihr euer Land aberntet, so erntet das Feld nicht bis zum äußersten Ende ab und haltet keine Nachlese nach der Ernte!	9 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.
10 Auch in deinem Weinberg halte keine Nachlese und lies nicht abgefallene Beeren in deinem Weinberg auf; überlasse sie dem Armen und Fremden: Ich, der Herr, bin euer Gott!	10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.
11 Ihr sollt nicht stehlen und nicht lügen und nicht einander betrügen!	11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
12 Ihr sollt bei meinem Namen nicht falsch schwören; du entweihst sonst den Namen deines Gottes: Ich bin der Herr!	12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
13 Du sollst deinen Nächsten nicht bedrücken und berauben; der Lohn des Tagelöhners soll bei dir nicht bis zum Morgen bleiben!	13 Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.
14 Du sollst einen Tauben nicht schmähen und einem Blinden kein Hindernis in den Weg legen; fürchte dich vor deinem Gott: Ich bin der Herr!	14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.
15 Verübt kein Unrecht im Gericht; begünstige nicht den Niederen, und ergreife nicht Partei für den Vornehmen, sondern richte deinen Nächsten in Gerechtigkeit.	15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
16 Gehe nicht als Verleumder unter deinen Volksgenossen umher und trachte nicht nach dem Blut deines Nächsten: Ich bin der Herr!	16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.
17 Hasse nicht deinen Bruder in deinem Herzen und stelle deinen Nächsten freimütig zur Rede, damit du seinetwegen keine Schuld auf dich lädst!	17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
18 Sei nicht rachsüchtig, und trage den Söhnen deines Volkes nichts nach, sondern liebe deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst: Ich bin der Herr!	18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
19 Beobachtet meine Satzungen! Laß nicht zweierlei Arten von deinem Vieh sich begatten; säe dein Feld nicht mit zweierlei Samen an, und ein Kleid, das aus zweierlei Fäden gewebt ist, soll nicht auf deinen Leib kommen!	19 Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.
20 Wenn ein Mann mit einer Frau verkehrt, die als Sklavin einem anderen gehört, ohne daß sie losgekauft oder freigelassen war, so soll eine Bestrafung stattfinden; jedoch sollen beide nicht getötet werden; denn sie war ja keine Freigelassene.	20 And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.
21 Er soll als Buße dem Herrn an den Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes einen Widder zum Schuldopfer bringen.	21 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.
22 Der Priester soll für ihn mit dem Schuldopferwidder vor dem Herrn Sühne schaffen wegen der begangenen Sünde; so wird ihm dann für die begangene Sünde Verzeihung zuteil.	22 And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.
23 Wenn ihr in das Land kommt und pflanzt allerlei Fruchtbäume, so sollt ihr deren Vorhaut, d. h. ihre Früchte, stehen lassen; drei Jahre sind sie für euch mit Vorhaut versehen und dürfen nicht gegessen werden.	23 And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.
24 Im vierten Jahre sollen alle ihre Früchte eine heilige Dankesgabe für den Herrn sein.	24 But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal.
25 Erst im fünften Jahre dürft ihr die Früchte essen, um euch ihren Ertrag fortan zu sichern: Ich bin der Herr, euer Gott!	25 And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.
26 Ihr sollt nichts samt dem Blute essen! Ihr sollt weder Wahrsagerei noch Zauberei treiben!	26 Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.
27 Ihr dürft nicht den Rand eures Kopfes kreisförmig abscheren; du sollst den Rand deines Bartes nicht stutzen!	27 Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
28 Ihr dürft euch nicht wegen eines Toten Einschnitte an eurem Leibe machen und dürft euch keine Zeichen einritzen: Ich bin der Herr!	28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
29 Du sollst deine Tochter nicht entweihen, indem du sie zur Dirne machst, damit nicht das Land unzüchtig und voll Schandtat werde.	29 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
30 Meine Ruhetage sollt ihr beobachten und Ehrfurcht vor meinem Heiligtum haben: Ich bin der Herr!	30 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.
31 Wendet euch nicht an die Totengeister und an die Wahrsagegeister! Befragt sie nicht, sonst werdet ihr durch sie unrein. Ich bin der Herr, euer Gott!	31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.
32 Vor einem grauen Haupt sollst du aufstehen und die Person eines Greises ehren! Du sollst dich vor deinem Gotte fürchten: Ich bin der Herr!	32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.
33 Hält sich ein Fremdling bei dir in eurem Lande auf, so dürft ihr ihn nicht bedrücken.	33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.
34 Wie ein Einheimischer von euch selbst soll euch der Fremdling gelten, der bei euch weilt; du sollst ihn lieben wie dich selbst; denn ihr seid ja auch Fremdlinge gewesen im Ägypterland: Ich bin der Herr, euer Gott!	34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
35 Ihr sollt nicht Unrecht üben beim Urteil mit dem Längenmaß, Gewicht und Hohlmaß!	35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.
36 Richtige Waage, richtige Gewichte, richtiges Epha und richtiges Hin sollt ihr führen: Ich bin der Herr, euer Gott, der euch aus dem Ägypterland geführt hat!	36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
37 So beobachtet denn alle meine Gesetze und alle meine Gebote, und handelt nach ihnen: Ich bin der Herr!"	37 Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.
