Psalmen 63

1 [Ein Psalm von David, als er in der Wüste war.]	1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
2 Gott, du bist mein Gott, dich suche ich! Meine Seele dürstet nach dir, mein Leib schmachtet nach dir wie dürres, lechzendes Land ohne Wasser.	2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
3 So schaue ich im Heiligtum nach dir aus, um deine Macht und Herrlichkeit zu sehen.	3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
4 Denn deine Huld ist köstlicher als Leben; meine Lippen sollen dich preisen.	4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
5 So will ich dich rühmen mein Leben lang, in deinem Namen die Hände erheben!	5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
6 Wie an Fett und Mark kann ich mich sättigen; mit jubelnden Lippen lobsingt mein Mund,	6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
7 wenn ich deiner gedenke auf meinem Lager, in den Nachtwachen mich vertiefe in dich.	7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
8 Du bist mir ja zur Hilfe geworden, im Schatten deiner Flügel frohlocke ich.	8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
9 Meine Seele hängt an dir, deine Rechte hält mich fest.	9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
10 Doch wer mir zum Verderben nach dem Leben trachtet, muß in die Tiefen der Erde versinken.	10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
11 Der Gewalt des Schwertes gibt man sie preis, sie werden den Schakalen zur Beute.	11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
12 Doch der König freut sich in Gott. Es rühmen sich alle, die bei ihm schwören; denn verschlossen wird den Lügnern der Mund.
