1 Dies ist der Stammbaum der Söhne Noes, des Sem, Cham und Japhet. Ihnen wurden nach der Flut Söhne geboren.	1 These are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and of the sons who were born to them after the great flood.
2 Die Söhne Japhets: Gomer, Magog, Madaj, Jawan, Tubal, Meschech und Tiras.	2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 Die Söhne Gomers: Aschkenas, Riphat und Togarma.	3 And then the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 Die Söhne Jawans: Elisa und Tarsis, die Kittim und Dodanim.	4 And the sons of Javan were Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.
5 Von diesen zweigten sich die Inselvölker ab in ihren Ländern - jedes nach seiner Sprache - nach ihren Geschlechtern in ihren Völkerschaften.	5 The islands of the Gentiles were divided by these into their regions, each one according to his tongue, and their families in their nations.
6 Die Söhne Chams: Kusch, Mizrajim, Put und Kanaan.	6 And the Sons of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.

9 Er war ein gewaltiger Jäger vor dem Herrn; daher sagt man: "Wie Nimrod ein gewaltiger Jäger vor dem Herrn."	9 And he was an able hunter before the Lord. From this, a proverb came forth: ‘Just like Nimrod, an able hunter before the Lord.’
10 Der Anfang seiner Königsherrschaft war Babel, Erech, Akkad und Kalne im Lande Sinear.	10 And so, the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Erech, and Accad, and Chalanne, in the land of Shinar.
11 Von diesem Lande zog er nach Assur aus und erbaute Ninive, Rechobot-Ir und Kelach,	11 From that land, Assur came forth, and he built Nineveh, and the streets of the city, and Calah,
12 auch Resen zwischen Ninive und Kelach. Dies ist die große Stadt.	12 and also Resen, between Nineveh and Calah. This is a great city.
13 Von Mizrajim stammen die Ludier, die Anamer, die Lehaber und die Naphtucher,	13 And truly, Mizraim conceived Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, Naphtuhim,
14 die Patruser, die Kaslucher und die Kaphtorer, von denen die Philister hervorgingen.	14 and Pathrusim, and Casluhim, from whom came forth the Philistines and the Caphtorim.
15 Von Kanaan stammt Sidon, sein Erstgeborener, und Heth,	15 Then Canaan conceived Sidon his firstborn, the Hittite,
16 ferner die Jebusiter, die Amoriter, die Girgaschiter,	16 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, the Girgashite,
17 die Hiwwiter, die Arkiter und die Siniter,	17 the Hivite, and the Arkite: the Sinite,
18 die Arwaditer, Zemariter und Chamatiter. Später zerstreuten sich die Sippen der Kanaaniter.	18 and the Arvadian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite. And after this, the peoples of the Canaanites became widespread.
19 Das Grenzgebiet der Kanaaniter erstreckte sich von Sidon durch Gerar hin nach Gaza und gegen Sodom, Gomorra, Adma und Zeboim bis hin nach Lascha.	19 And the borders of Chanaan went, as one travels, from Sidon to Gerar, even to Gaza, until one enters Sodom and Gomorrah, and from Admah and Zeboiim, even to Lesa.
20 Dies sind Chams Söhne nach ihren Sippen, ihren Sprachen, in ihren Ländern und in ihren Völkerschaften.	20 These are the sons of Ham in their kindred, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.
21 Auch dem Sem wurden Nachkommen geboren, dem Stammvater aller Hebersöhne, dem ältesten Bruder des Japhet.	21 Likewise, from Shem, the father of all the sons of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.
22 Die Söhne Sems: Elam, Assur, Arpachschad, Lud und Aram.	22 The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23 Und die Söhne Arams: Uz, Chul, Geter und Masch.	23 The sons of Aram were Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24 Arpachschad zeugte den Schelach, Schelach den Heber.	24 But truly, Arphaxad conceived Shelah, from whom was born Eber.
25 Dem Heber wurden zwei Söhne geboren, der eine hieß Peleg (Trennung) - denn in seinen Tagen trennte sich die Erdbevölkerung -; sein Bruder hieß Joktan.	25 And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth became divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.
26 Joktan zeugte Almodad, Scheleph, Chazarmawet, Jerach,	26 This Joktan conceived Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, Jerah
27 Hadoram, Usal, Dikla,	27 and Hadoram, and Uzal and Diklah,
28 Obal, Abimael, Saba,	28 and Obal and Abimael, Sheba
29 Ophir, Chawila und Jobab. Diese alle sind Söhne Joktans.	29 and Ophir, and Havilah and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
30 Ihre Wohnsitze liegen von Mescha bis nach Sephara am Ostgebirge.	30 And their habitation extended from Messa, as one sojourns, even to Sephar, a mountain in the east.
31 Dies sind Sems Söhne nach ihren Sippen, ihren Sprachen, in ihren Ländern nach ihren Völkerschaften.	31 These are the sons of Shem according to their kindred, and tongues, and the regions within their nations.
32 Dies sind die Sippen der Söhne Noes nach ihren Stammbäumen in ihren Völkerschaften, und von ihnen haben sich die Völker nach der Flut verzweigt.	32 These are the families of Noah, according to their peoples and nations. The nations became divided according to these, on the earth after the great flood.
