2 My heart is stirred by a noble theme, as I sing my ode to the king. My tongue is the pen of a nimble scribe.	2 Palpita il mio cuore per un tema gradito, sto per dire i miei versi al re; la mia lingua è calamo di scriba veloce!
3 You are the most handsome of men; fair speech has graced your lips, for God has blessed you forever.	3 Tu sei il più bello dei figli dell’uomo, soffuse di grazia le labbra; perciò Dio ti ha benedetto in eterno!
4 Gird your sword upon your hip, mighty warrior! In splendor and majesty ride on triumphant!	4 Cingi la spada al fianco, o prode, rivesti la tua maestà e la tua pompa.
5 In the cause of truth and justice may your right hand show you wondrous deeds.	5 Tendi l’arco, avanza, cavalca per la causa della verità, della clemenza e della giustizia. Poiché punta a meraviglia la tua destra,
6 Your arrows are sharp; peoples will cower at your feet; the king's enemies will lose heart.	6 le tue frecce si conkccano — popoli cadono sotto di te — nel cuore dei nemici del re.
7 Your throne, O god, stands forever; your royal scepter is a scepter for justice.	7 Il tuo trono, o Dio, in eterno e sempre; scettro di giustizia è lo scettro del tuo regno.
8 You love justice and hate wrongdoing; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellow kings.	8 Hai amato la giustizia e odiato l’iniquità, perciò ti unse Jahvè tuo Dio con olio di letizia, a preferenza dei tuoi compagni.
9 With myrrh, aloes, and cassia your robes are fragrant. From ivory-paneled palaces stringed instruments bring you joy.	9 Mirra e aloe, cassia sono tutti i tuoi paludamenti. Dai palazzi d’avorio le corde d’arpa ti allietano;
10 Daughters of kings are your lovely wives; a princess arrayed in Ophir's gold comes to stand at your right hand.	10 figlie di re in gioielli si presentano, la regina alla tua destra in oro di Ofir.
11 Listen, my daughter, and understand; pay me careful heed. Forget your people and your father's house,	11 Ascolta, figlia, guarda, porgi l’orecchio e dimentica la tua nazione e la casa di tuo padre.
12 that the king might desire your beauty. He is your lord;	12 Poiché si è invaghito il re della tua bellezza, ecco ora egli è il tuo Signore: prestagli omaggio.
13 honor him, daughter of Tyre. Then the richest of the people will seek your favor with gifts.	13 La figlia di Tiro si presenta con doni; il tuo favore sollecitano i più ricchi del popolo.
14 All glorious is the king's daughter as she enters, her raiment threaded with gold;	14 Tutta splendore è la figlia del re nell’interno, tessuta in oro la sua veste.
15 In embroidered apparel she is led to the king. The maids of her train are presented to the king.	15 In vesti variegate è condotta al re, vergini la seguono, le sue compagne le fanno scorta.
16 They are led in with glad and joyous acclaim; they enter the palace of the king.	16 Vengono introdotte in letizia e gioia, entrano nel palazzo del re.
17 The throne of your fathers your sons will have; you shall make them princes through all the land.	17 Al posto dei tuoi genitori ci saranno i tuoi figli; li costituirai principi su tutta la terra.
18 I will make your name renowned through all generations; thus nations shall praise you forever.	18 Celebrerò il tuo nome a tutte le generazioni, in modo che i popoli ti loderanno in eterno e sempre.
