2 My heart is stirred by a noble theme, as I sing my ode to the king. My tongue is the pen of a nimble scribe.	2 Liete parole mi sgorgano dal cuore:io proclamo al re il mio poema,la mia lingua è come stilo di scriba veloce.
3 You are the most handsome of men; fair speech has graced your lips, for God has blessed you forever.	3 Tu sei il più bello tra i figli dell’uomo,sulle tue labbra è diffusa la grazia,perciò Dio ti ha benedetto per sempre.
4 Gird your sword upon your hip, mighty warrior! In splendor and majesty ride on triumphant!	4 O prode, cingiti al fianco la spada,tua gloria e tuo vanto,
5 In the cause of truth and justice may your right hand show you wondrous deeds.	5 e avanza trionfante.Cavalca per la causa della verità,della mitezza e della giustizia.La tua destra ti mostri prodigi.
6 Your arrows are sharp; peoples will cower at your feet; the king's enemies will lose heart.	6 Le tue frecce sono acute –sotto di te cadono i popoli –,colpiscono al cuore i nemici del re.
7 Your throne, O god, stands forever; your royal scepter is a scepter for justice.	7 Il tuo trono, o Dio, dura per sempre;scettro di rettitudine è il tuo scettro regale.
8 You love justice and hate wrongdoing; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellow kings.	8 Ami la giustizia e la malvagità detesti:Dio, il tuo Dio, ti ha consacratocon olio di letizia, a preferenza dei tuoi compagni.
9 With myrrh, aloes, and cassia your robes are fragrant. From ivory-paneled palaces stringed instruments bring you joy.	9 Di mirra, àloe e cassiaprofumano tutte le tue vesti;da palazzi d’avorio ti rallegriil suono di strumenti a corda.
10 Daughters of kings are your lovely wives; a princess arrayed in Ophir's gold comes to stand at your right hand.	10 Figlie di re fra le tue predilette;alla tua destra sta la regina, in ori di Ofir.
11 Listen, my daughter, and understand; pay me careful heed. Forget your people and your father's house,	11 Ascolta, figlia, guarda, porgi l’orecchio:dimentica il tuo popolo e la casa di tuo padre;
12 that the king might desire your beauty. He is your lord;	12 il re è invaghito della tua bellezza.È lui il tuo signore: rendigli omaggio.
13 honor him, daughter of Tyre. Then the richest of the people will seek your favor with gifts.	13 Gli abitanti di Tiro portano doni,i più ricchi del popolo cercano il tuo favore.
14 All glorious is the king's daughter as she enters, her raiment threaded with gold;	14 Entra la figlia del re: è tutta splendore,tessuto d’oro è il suo vestito.
15 In embroidered apparel she is led to the king. The maids of her train are presented to the king.	15 È condotta al re in broccati preziosi;dietro a lei le vergini, sue compagne,a te sono presentate;
16 They are led in with glad and joyous acclaim; they enter the palace of the king.	16 condotte in gioia ed esultanza,sono presentate nel palazzo del re.
17 The throne of your fathers your sons will have; you shall make them princes through all the land.	17 Ai tuoi padri succederanno i tuoi figli;li farai prìncipi di tutta la terra.
18 I will make your name renowned through all generations; thus nations shall praise you forever.	18 Il tuo nome voglio far ricordare per tutte le generazioni;così i popoli ti loderanno in eterno, per sempre.
