και ελαλησεν δαυιδ τω κυριω τους λογους της ωδης ταυτης εν η ημερα εξειλατο αυτον κυριος εκ χειρος παντων των εχθρων αυτου και εκ χειρος σαουλ | 1 And David spoke to the Lord the words of this verse, in the day that the Lord freed him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. |
και ειπεν κυριε πετρα μου και οχυρωμα μου και εξαιρουμενος με εμοι | 2 And he said: “The Lord is my rock, and my strength, and my Savior. |
ο θεος μου φυλαξ εσται μου πεποιθως εσομαι επ' αυτω υπερασπιστης μου και κερας σωτηριας μου αντιλημπτωρ μου και καταφυγη μου σωτηριας μου εξ αδικου σωσεις με | 3 I will hope in him. God is my strong one, my shield, and the horn of my salvation. He lifts me up, and he is my refreshment. You, O my Savior, will free me from iniquity. |
αινετον επικαλεσομαι κυριον και εκ των εχθρων μου σωθησομαι | 4 I will call upon the Lord, who is praiseworthy; and I will be saved from my enemies. |
οτι περιεσχον με συντριμμοι θανατου χειμαρροι ανομιας εθαμβησαν με | 5 For the pangs of death have encircled me. The torrents of Belial have terrified me. |
ωδινες θανατου εκυκλωσαν με προεφθασαν με σκληροτητες θανατου | 6 The ropes of Hell have encompassed me. The snares of death have intercepted me. |
εν τω θλιβεσθαι με επικαλεσομαι κυριον και προς τον θεον μου βοησομαι και επακουσεται εκ ναου αυτου φωνης μου και η κραυγη μου εν τοις ωσιν αυτου | 7 In my tribulation, I will call upon the Lord, and I will cry out to my God. And he will heed my voice from his temple, and my outcry will reach his ears. |
και εταραχθη και εσεισθη η γη και τα θεμελια του ουρανου συνεταραχθησαν και εσπαραχθησαν οτι εθυμωθη κυριος αυτοις | 8 The earth was shaken, and it quaked. The foundations of the mountains were struck together and violently shaken, because he was angry with them. |
ανεβη καπνος εν τη οργη αυτου και πυρ εκ στοματος αυτου κατεδεται ανθρακες εξεκαυθησαν απ' αυτου | 9 Smoke ascends from his nostrils, and fire from his mouth will devour; coals have been kindled by it. |
και εκλινεν ουρανους και κατεβη και γνοφος υποκατω των ποδων αυτου | 10 He bent down the heavens, and it descended; and a fog was beneath his feet. |
και επεκαθισεν επι χερουβιν και επετασθη και ωφθη επι πτερυγων ανεμου | 11 And he climbed upon the cherubim, and he flew; and he slid upon the wings of the wind. |
και εθετο σκοτος αποκρυφην αυτου κυκλω αυτου η σκηνη αυτου σκοτος υδατων επαχυνεν εν νεφελαις αερος | 12 He set darkness as a hiding place around himself, with waters sifted from the clouds of the heavens. |
απο του φεγγους εναντιον αυτου εξεκαυθησαν ανθρακες πυρος | 13 By means of the brightness of his glance, coals of fire were kindled. |
εβροντησεν εξ ουρανου κυριος και ο υψιστος εδωκεν φωνην αυτου | 14 The Lord will thunder from heaven; and the Most High will utter his voice. |
και απεστειλεν βελη και εσκορπισεν αυτους αστραπην και εξεστησεν αυτους | 15 He shot arrows, and he scattered them; lightning, and he consumed them. |
και ωφθησαν αφεσεις θαλασσης και απεκαλυφθη θεμελια της οικουμενης εν τη επιτιμησει κυριου απο πνοης πνευματος θυμου αυτου | 16 And the overflow of the sea appeared, and the foundations of the globe were revealed, at the rebuke of the Lord, at the exhale of the breath of his fury. |
απεστειλεν εξ υψους και ελαβεν με ειλκυσεν με εξ υδατων πολλων | 17 He sent from on high, and he took me up. And he drew me out of many waters. |
ερρυσατο με εξ εχθρων μου ισχυος εκ των μισουντων με οτι εκραταιωθησαν υπερ εμε | 18 He freed me from my most powerful enemy and from those who had hated me. For they were too strong for me. |
προεφθασαν με εν ημερα θλιψεως μου και εγενετο κυριος επιστηριγμα μου | 19 He went before me in the day of my affliction, and the Lord became my firmament. |
και εξηγαγεν με εις πλατυσμον και εξειλατο με οτι ευδοκησεν εν εμοι | 20 And he led me out to a wide-open place. He freed me, because I was pleasing to him. |
και ανταπεδωκεν μοι κυριος κατα την δικαιοσυνην μου κατα την καθαριοτητα των χειρων μου ανταπεδωκεν μοι | 21 The Lord will reward me according to my justice. And he will repay me according to the cleanness of my hands. |
οτι εφυλαξα οδους κυριου και ουκ ησεβησα απο του θεου μου | 22 For I have kept to the ways of the Lord, and I have not acted impiously before my God. |
οτι παντα τα κριματα αυτου κατεναντιον μου και τα δικαιωματα αυτου ουκ απεστην απ' αυτων | 23 For all his judgments are in my sight. And I have not removed his precepts from me. |
και εσομαι αμωμος αυτω και προφυλαξομαι απο της ανομιας μου | 24 And I shall be perfect with him. And I shall guard myself from my own iniquity. |
και αποδωσει μοι κυριος κατα την δικαιοσυνην μου και κατα την καθαριοτητα των χειρων μου ενωπιον των οφθαλμων αυτου | 25 And the Lord will recompense me according to my justice, and according to the cleanness of my hands in the sight of his eyes. |
μετα οσιου οσιωθηση και μετα ανδρος τελειου τελειωθηση | 26 With the holy one, you will be holy, and with the strong one, you will be perfect. |
και μετα εκλεκτου εκλεκτος εση και μετα στρεβλου στρεβλωθηση | 27 With the elect one, you will be elect, and with the perverse one, you will be perverse. |
και τον λαον τον πτωχον σωσεις και οφθαλμους επι μετεωρων ταπεινωσεις | 28 And you will bring to salvation the poor people, and you will humble the exalted with your eyes. |
οτι συ ο λυχνος μου κυριε και κυριος εκλαμψει μοι το σκοτος μου | 29 For you are my lamp, O Lord. And you, O Lord, will illuminate my darkness. |
οτι εν σοι δραμουμαι μονοζωνος και εν τω θεω μου υπερβησομαι τειχος | 30 For in you, I will run girded. In my God, I will leap over the wall. |
ο ισχυρος αμωμος η οδος αυτου το ρημα κυριου κραταιον πεπυρωμενον υπερασπιστης εστιν πασιν τοις πεποιθοσιν επ' αυτω | 31 God, his way is immaculate; the eloquence of the Lord is an exacting fire. He is the shield of all who hope in him. |
τις ισχυρος πλην κυριου και τις κτιστης εσται πλην του θεου ημων | 32 Who is God except the Lord? And who is strong except our God? |
ο ισχυρος ο κραταιων με δυναμει και εξετιναξεν αμωμον την οδον μου | 33 God, he has girded me with fortitude, and he has made my way perfect: |
τιθεις τους ποδας μου ως ελαφων και επι τα υψη ιστων με | 34 making my feet like the feet of the stag, and stationing me upon my exalted places, |
διδασκων χειρας μου εις πολεμον και καταξας τοξον χαλκουν εν βραχιονι μου | 35 teaching my hands to do battle, and making my arms like a bow of brass. |
και εδωκας μοι υπερασπισμον σωτηριας μου και η υπακοη σου επληθυνεν με | 36 You have given me the shield of your salvation. And your mildness has multiplied me. |
εις πλατυσμον εις τα διαβηματα μου υποκατω μου και ουκ εσαλευθησαν τα σκελη μου | 37 You will enlarge my steps under me, and my ankles will not fail. |
διωξω εχθρους μου και αφανιω αυτους και ουκ αναστρεψω εως συντελεσω αυτους | 38 I will pursue my enemies, and crush them. And I will not turn back, until I consume them. |
και θλασω αυτους και ουκ αναστησονται και πεσουνται υπο τους ποδας μου | 39 I will consume them and break them apart, so that they cannot rise up; they will fall under my feet. |
και ενισχυσεις με δυναμει εις πολεμον καμψεις τους επανιστανομενους μοι υποκατω μου | 40 You have girded me with strength for the battle. Those who resisted me, you have bent down under me. |
και τους εχθρους μου εδωκας μοι νωτον τους μισουντας με και εθανατωσας αυτους | 41 You have caused my enemies to turn their back to me; they have hatred for me, and I shall destroy them. |
βοησονται και ουκ εστιν βοηθος προς κυριον και ουχ υπηκουσεν αυτων | 42 They will cry out, and there will be no one to save; to the Lord, and he will not heed them. |
και ελεανα αυτους ως χουν γης ως πηλον εξοδων ελεπτυνα αυτους | 43 I will wipe them away like the dust of the earth. I will break them apart and crush them, like the mud of the streets. |
και ρυση με εκ μαχης λαων φυλαξεις με εις κεφαλην εθνων λαος ον ουκ εγνων εδουλευσαν μοι | 44 You will save me from the contradictions of my people. You will preserve me to be the head of the Gentiles; a people I do not know shall serve me. |
υιοι αλλοτριοι εψευσαντο μοι εις ακοην ωτιου ηκουσαν μου | 45 The sons of foreigners, who will resist me, at the hearing of the ear they will be obedient to me. |
υιοι αλλοτριοι απορριφησονται και σφαλουσιν εκ των συγκλεισμων αυτων | 46 The foreigners flowed away, but they will be drawn together in their anguishes. |
ζη κυριος και ευλογητος ο φυλαξ μου και υψωθησεται ο θεος μου ο φυλαξ της σωτηριας μου | 47 The Lord lives, and my God is blessed. And the strong God of my salvation shall be exalted. |
ισχυρος κυριος ο διδους εκδικησεις εμοι παιδευων λαους υποκατω μου | 48 God gives me vindication, and he casts down the peoples under me. |
και εξαγων με εξ εχθρων μου και εκ των επεγειρομενων μοι υψωσεις με εξ ανδρος αδικηματων ρυση με | 49 He leads me away from my enemies, and he lifts me up from those who resist me. You will free me from the iniquitous man. |
δια τουτο εξομολογησομαι σοι κυριε εν τοις εθνεσιν και εν τω ονοματι σου ψαλω | 50 Because of this, I will confess to you, O Lord, among the Gentiles, and I will sing to your name: |
μεγαλυνων σωτηριας βασιλεως αυτου και ποιων ελεος τω χριστω αυτου τω δαυιδ και τω σπερματι αυτου εως αιωνος | 51 magnifying the salvation of his king, and showing mercy to David, his Christ, and to his offspring forever.” |
