Romans 12

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.	1 Je vous exhorte donc, frères, par la miséricorde de Dieu, à offrir vos personnes en hostie vivante,sainte, agréable à Dieu: c'est là le culte spirituel que vous avez à rendre.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.	2 Et ne vous modelez pas sur le monde présent, mais que le renouvellement de votre jugement voustransforme et vous fasse discerner quelle est la volonté de Dieu, ce qui est bon, ce qui lui plaît, ce qui est parfait.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.	3 Au nom de la grâce qui m'a été donnée, je le dis à tous et à chacun: ne vous surestimez pas plusqu'il ne faut vous estimer, mais gardez de vous une sage estime, chacun selon le degré de foi que Dieu lui adéparti.
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:	4 Car, de même que notre corps en son unité possède plus d'un membre et que ces membres n'ontpas tous la même fonction,
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.	5 ainsi nous, à plusieurs, nous ne formons qu'un seul corps dans le Christ, étant, chacun pour sapart, membres les uns des autres.
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;	6 Mais, pourvus de dons différents selon la grâce qui nous a été donnée, si c'est le don de prophétie,exerçons-le en proportion de notre foi;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;	7 si c'est le service, en servant; l'enseignement, en enseignant;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.	8 l'exhortation, en exhortant. Que celui qui donne le fasse sans calcul; celui qui préside, avecdiligence; celui qui exerce la miséricorde, en rayonnant de joie.
9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.	9 Que votre charité soit sans feinte, détestant le mal, solidement attachés au bien;
10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;	10 que l'amour fraternel vous lie d'affection entre vous, chacun regardant les autres comme plusméritants,
11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;	11 d'un zèle sans nonchalance, dans la ferveur de l'esprit, au service du Seigneur,
12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;	12 avec la joie de l'espérance, constants dans la tribulation, assidus à la prière,
13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.	13 prenant part aux besoins des saints, avides de donner l'hospitalité.
14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.	14 Bénissez ceux qui vous persécutent; bénissez, ne maudissez pas.
15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.	15 Réjouissez-vous avec qui est dans la joie, pleurez avec qui pleure.
16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.	16 Pleins d'une égale complaisance pour tous, sans vous complaire dans l'orgueil, attirés plutôt parce qui est humble, ne vous complaisez pas dans votre propre sagesse.
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.	17 Sans rendre à personne le mal pour le mal, ayant à coeur ce qui est bien devant tous les hommes,
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.	18 en paix avec tous si possible, autant qu'il dépend de vous,
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.	19 sans vous faire justice à vous-mêmes, mes bien-aimés, laissez agir la colère; car il est écrit: C'estmoi qui ferai justice, moi qui rétribuerai, dit le Seigneur.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.	20 Bien plutôt, si ton ennemi a faim, donne-lui à manger; s'il a soif, donne-lui à boire; ce faisant, tuamasseras des charbons ardents sur sa tête.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.	21 Ne te laisse pas vaincre par le mal, sois vainqueur du mal par le bien.
