KING JAMES BIBLENEW JERUSALEM
O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.1 Al eluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, cal on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!
Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!
Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!
Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!
Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;5 Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.
O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!
He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.
He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,
Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:10 He established it as a statute for Jacob, an everlasting covenant with Israel,
Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:11 saying, 'To you I give a land, Canaan, your allotted birthright.'
When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.12 When they were insignificant in numbers, a handful of strangers in the land,
When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;13 wandering from country to country, from one kingdom and nation to another,
He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;14 he al owed no one to oppress them; for their sake he instructed kings,
Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.15 'Do not touch my anointed ones, to my prophets you may do no harm.'
Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.16 He cal ed down famine on the land, he took away their food supply;
He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:17 he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.
Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:18 So his feet were weighed down with shackles, his neck was put in irons.
Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.19 In due time his prophecy was fulfilled, the word of Yahweh proved him true.
The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.20 The king sent orders to release him, the ruler of nations set him free;
He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:21 he put him in charge of his household, the ruler of al he possessed,
To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.22 to instruct his princes as he saw fit, to teach his counsel ors wisdom.
Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.23 Then Israel migrated to Egypt, Jacob settled in the country of Ham.
And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.24 He made his people increase in numbers, he gave them more strength than their enemies,
He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.25 whose heart he turned to hate his own people, to double-cross his servants.
He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.26 He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, the man of his choice.
They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.27 They worked there the wonders he commanded, marvels in the country of Ham.
He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.28 Darkness he sent, and darkness fel , but that nation defied his orders.
He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.29 He turned their rivers to blood, and kil ed al the fish in them.
Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.30 Their country was overrun with frogs, even in the royal apartments;
He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.31 at his word came flies, and mosquitoes throughout the country.
He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.32 He gave them hail as their rain, flames of fire in their land;
He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.33 he blasted their vine and their fig tree, and shattered the trees of the country.
He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,34 At his word came locusts, hoppers beyond al counting;
And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.35 they devoured every green thing in the land, devoured al the produce of the soil.
He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.36 He struck al the first-born in their land, the flower of all their manhood;
He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.37 he led Israel out with silver and gold; in their tribes there was none who stumbled.
Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.38 Egypt was glad at their leaving, for terror of Israel had seized them.
He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.39 He spread out a cloud to cover them, and fire to light up the night.
The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.40 They asked and he brought them quails, food from heaven to their hearts' content;
He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.41 he opened a rock, the waters gushed out, and flowed in dry ground as a river.
For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.42 Faithful to his sacred promise, given to his servant Abraham,
And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:43 he led out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy.
And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;44 He gave them the territories of nations, they reaped the fruit of other people's labours,
That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.45 on condition that they kept his statutes, and remained obedient to his laws.
