1 Und er zeigte mir einen Strom, das Wasser des Lebens, klar wie Kristall; er geht vom Thron Gottes und des Lammes aus.	1 And he showed me the river of the water of life, shining like crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 Zwischen der Straße der Stadt und dem Strom, hüben und drüben, stehen Bäume des Lebens. Zwölfmal tragen sie Früchte, jeden Monat einmal; und die Blätter der Bäume dienen zur Heilung der Völker.	2 In the midst of its main street, and on both sides of the river, was the Tree of Life, bearing twelve fruits, offering one fruit for each month, and the leaves of the tree are for the health of the nations.
3 Es wird nichts mehr geben, was der Fluch Gottes trifft. Der Thron Gottes und des Lammes wird in der Stadt stehen und seine Knechte werden ihm dienen.	3 And every curse shall be no more. But the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants shall serve him.
4 Sie werden sein Angesicht schauen und sein Name ist auf ihre Stirn geschrieben.	4 And they shall see his face. And his name shall be on their foreheads.
5 Es wird keine Nacht mehr geben und sie brauchen weder das Licht einer Lampe noch das Licht der Sonne. Denn der Herr, ihr Gott, wird über ihnen leuchten und sie werden herrschen in alle Ewigkeit.	5 And night shall be no more. And they will not need the light of a lamp, nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illuminate them. And they shall reign forever and ever.
6 Und der Engel sagte zu mir: Diese Worte sind zuverlässig und wahr. Gott, der Herr über den Geist der Propheten, hat seinen Engel gesandt, um seinen Knechten zu zeigen, was bald geschehen muss.	6 And he said to me: “These words are entirely faithful and true.” And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his Angel to reveal to his servant what must occur soon:
7 Siehe, ich komme bald. Selig, wer an den prophetischen Worten dieses Buches festhält.	7 “For behold, I am approaching quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
8 Ich, Johannes, habe dies gehört und gesehen. Und als ich es hörte und sah, fiel ich dem Engel, der mir dies gezeigt hatte, zu Füßen, um ihn anzubeten.	8 And I, John, heard and saw these things. And, after I had heard and seen, I fell down, so as to adore before the feet of the Angel, who was revealing these things to me.
9 Da sagte er zu mir: Tu das nicht! Ich bin nur ein Knecht wie du und deine Brüder, die Propheten, und wie alle, die sich an die Worte dieses Buches halten. Gott bete an!	9 And he said to me: “Be careful not to do so. For I am your fellow servant, and I am among your brothers the prophets, and among those who keep the words of the prophecy of this book. Adore God.”
10 Und er sagte zu mir: Versiegle dieses Buch mit seinen prophetischen Worten nicht! Denn die Zeit ist nahe.	10 And he said to me: “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book. For the time is near.
11 Wer Unrecht tut, tue weiter Unrecht, der Unreine bleibe unrein, der Gerechte handle weiter gerecht und der Heilige strebe weiter nach Heiligkeit.	11 Whoever does harm, he might still do harm. And whoever is filthy, he might still be filthy. And whoever is just, he may still be just. And one who is holy, he may still be holy.”
12 Siehe, ich komme bald und mit mir bringe ich den Lohn und ich werde jedem geben, was seinem Werk entspricht.	12 “Behold, I am approaching quickly! And my repayment is with me, to render to each one according to his works.
13 Ich bin das Alpha und das Omega, der Erste und der Letzte, der Anfang und das Ende.	13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
14 Selig, wer sein Gewand wäscht: Er hat Anteil am Baum des Lebens, und er wird durch die Tore in die Stadt eintreten können.	14 Blessed are those who wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb. So may they have a right to the tree of life; so may they enter through the gates into the City.
15 Draußen bleiben die «Hunde» und die Zauberer, die Unzüchtigen und die Mörder, die Götzendiener und jeder, der die Lüge liebt und tut.	15 Outside are dogs, and drug users, and homosexuals, and murderers, and those who serve idols, and all who love and do what is false.
16 Ich, Jesus, habe meinen Engel gesandt als Zeugen für das, was die Gemeinden betrifft. Ich bin die Wurzel und der Stamm Davids, der strahlende Morgenstern.	16 “I, Jesus, have sent my Angel, to testify to these things for you among the Churches. I am the Root and the Origin of David, the bright morning Star.”
17 Der Geist und die Braut aber sagen: Komm! Wer hört, der rufe: Komm! Wer durstig ist, der komme. Wer will, empfange umsonst das Wasser des Lebens.	17 And the Spirit and the Bride say: “Draw near.” And whoever hears, let him say: “Draw near.” And whoever thirsts, let him draw near. And whoever is willing, let him accept the water of life, freely.
18 Ich bezeuge jedem, der die prophetischen Worte dieses Buches hört: Wer etwas hinzufügt, dem wird Gott die Plagen zufügen, von denen in diesem Buch geschrieben steht.	18 For I call as witnesses all listeners of the words of the prophecy of this book. If anyone will have added to these, God will add upon him the afflictions written in this book.
19 Und wer etwas wegnimmt von den prophetischen Worten dieses Buches, dem wird Gott seinen Anteil am Baum des Lebens und an der heiligen Stadt wegnehmen, von denen in diesem Buch geschrieben steht.	19 And if anyone will have taken away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his portion from the Book of Life, and from the Holy City, and from these things which have been written in this book.
20 Er, der dies bezeugt, spricht: Ja, ich komme bald. - Amen. Komm, Herr Jesus!	20 He who offers testimony to these things, says: “Even now, I am approaching quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
21 Die Gnade des Herrn Jesus sei mit allen!	21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
