1 Und er zeigte mir einen Strom, das Wasser des Lebens, klar wie Kristall; er geht vom Thron Gottes und des Lammes aus.	1 Then the angel showed me the river of life, rising from the throne of God and of the Lamb and flowingcrystal-clear.
2 Zwischen der Straße der Stadt und dem Strom, hüben und drüben, stehen Bäume des Lebens. Zwölfmal tragen sie Früchte, jeden Monat einmal; und die Blätter der Bäume dienen zur Heilung der Völker.	2 Down the middle of the city street, on either bank of the river were the trees of life, which bear twelvecrops of fruit in a year, one in each month, and the leaves of which are the cure for the nations.

5 Es wird keine Nacht mehr geben und sie brauchen weder das Licht einer Lampe noch das Licht der Sonne. Denn der Herr, ihr Gott, wird über ihnen leuchten und sie werden herrschen in alle Ewigkeit.	5 And night will be abolished; they will not need lamplight or sunlight, because the Lord God will beshining on them. They wil reign for ever and ever.
6 Und der Engel sagte zu mir: Diese Worte sind zuverlässig und wahr. Gott, der Herr über den Geist der Propheten, hat seinen Engel gesandt, um seinen Knechten zu zeigen, was bald geschehen muss.	6 The angel said to me, 'Al that you have written is sure and wil come true: the Lord God who inspiresthe prophets has sent his angel to reveal to his servants what is soon to take place.

8 Ich, Johannes, habe dies gehört und gesehen. Gott bete an!	9 but he said, 'Do no such thing: I am your fel ow-servant and the fel ow-servant of your brothers theprophets and those who keep the message of this book. God alone you must worship.'
10 Und er sagte zu mir: Versiegle dieses Buch mit seinen prophetischen Worten nicht! Denn die Zeit ist nahe.	10 This, too, he said to me, 'Do not keep the prophecies in this book a secret, because the Time isclose.
11 Wer Unrecht tut, tue weiter Unrecht, der Unreine bleibe unrein, der Gerechte handle weiter gerecht und der Heilige strebe weiter nach Heiligkeit.	11 Meanwhile let the sinner continue sinning, and the unclean continue to be unclean; let the uprightcontinue in his uprightness, and those who are holy continue to be holy.
12 Siehe, ich komme bald und mit mir bringe ich den Lohn und ich werde jedem geben, was seinem Werk entspricht.	12 Look, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me, to repay everyone as their deeds deserve.
13 Ich bin das Alpha und das Omega, der Erste und der Letzte, der Anfang und das Ende.	13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
14 Selig, wer sein Gewand wäscht: Er hat Anteil am Baum des Lebens, und er wird durch die Tore in die Stadt eintreten können.	14 Blessed are those who wil have washed their robes clean, so that they wil have the right to feed onthe tree of life and can come through the gates into the city.
15 Draußen bleiben die «Hunde» und die Zauberer, die Unzüchtigen und die Mörder, die Götzendiener und jeder, der die Lüge liebt und tut.	15 Others must stay outside: dogs, fortune-tel ers, and the sexually immoral, murderers, idolaters, andeveryone of false speech and false life.'
16 Ich, Jesus, habe meinen Engel gesandt als Zeugen für das, was die Gemeinden betrifft. Ich bin die Wurzel und der Stamm Davids, der strahlende Morgenstern.	16 I, Jesus, have sent my angel to attest these things to you for the sake of the churches. Let everyone who listens answer, 'Come!' Then let al who arethirsty come: all who want it may have the water of life, and have it free.
18 Ich bezeuge jedem, der die prophetischen Worte dieses Buches hört: Wer etwas hinzufügt, dem wird Gott die Plagen zufügen, von denen in diesem Buch geschrieben steht.	18 This is my solemn attestation to al who hear the prophecies in this book: if anyone adds anything tothem, God wil add to him every plague mentioned in the book;
19 Und wer etwas wegnimmt von den prophetischen Worten dieses Buches, dem wird Gott seinen Anteil am Baum des Lebens und an der heiligen Stadt wegnehmen, von denen in diesem Buch geschrieben steht.	19 if anyone cuts anything out of the prophecies in this book, God wil cut off his share of the tree of life and of the holy city, which are described in the book.
20 Er, der dies bezeugt, spricht: Ja, ich komme bald. - Amen. Komm, Herr Jesus!	20 The one who attests these things says: I am indeed coming soon. Amen; come, Lord Jesus.
