EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Darum, heilige Brüder, die ihr an der himmlischen Berufung teilhabt, schaut auf den Apostel und Hohenpriester, dem unser Bekenntnis gilt: auf Jesus,	1 That is why al you who are holy brothers and share the same heavenly cal should turn your minds toJesus, the apostle and the high priest of our profession of faith.
2 der - wie auch Mose in Gottes Haus - dem treu ist, der ihn eingesetzt hat.	2 He was trustworthy to the one who appointed him, just like Moses, who remained trustworthy in all hishousehold;
3 Denn er hat größere Herrlichkeit empfangen als Mose, so wie der, der ein Haus baut, größeren Ruhm genießt als das Haus.	3 but he deserves a greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house is more honoured than thehouse itself.
4 Denn jedes Haus wird von jemand erbaut; der aber, der alles erbaut hat, ist Gott.	4 Every house is built by someone, of course; but God built everything that exists.
5 Mose war in Gottes ganzem Haus treu als Diener, zum Zeugnis der künftigen Offenbarungen;	5 It is true that Moses was trustworthy in the household of God, as a servant is, acting as witness to thethings which were yet to be revealed,
6 Christus aber ist treu als Sohn, der über das Haus Gottes gesetzt ist; sein Haus aber sind wir, wenn wir an der Zuversicht und an dem stolzen Bewusstsein festhalten, das unsere Hoffnung uns verleiht.	6 but Christ is trustworthy as a son is, over his household. And we are his household, as long as wefearlessly maintain the hope in which we glory.
7 Darum beherzigt, was der Heilige Geist sagt: Heute, wenn ihr seine Stimme hört,	7 That is why, as the Holy Spirit says: If only you would listen to him today!
8 verhärtet euer Herz nicht wie beim Aufruhr, wie in der Wüste am Tag der Versuchung.	8 Do not harden your hearts, as at the rebel ion, as at the time of testing in the desert,
9 Dort haben eure Väter mich versucht, sie haben mich auf die Probe gestellt und hatten doch meine Taten gesehen,	9 when your ancestors chal enged me, and put me to the test, and saw what I could do
10 vierzig Jahre lang. Darum war mir diese Generation zuwider und ich sagte: Immer geht ihr Herz in die Irre. Sie erkannten meine Wege nicht.	10 for forty years. That was why that generation sickened me and I said, 'Always fickle hearts, thatcannot grasp my ways!'
11 Darum habe ich in meinem Zorn geschworen: Sie sollen nicht in das Land meiner Ruhe kommen.	11 And then in my anger I swore that they would never enter my place of rest.
12 Gebt Acht, Brüder, dass keiner von euch ein böses, ungläubiges Herz hat, dass keiner vom lebendigen Gott abfällt,	12 Take care, brothers, that none of you ever has a wicked heart, so unbelieving as to turn away from theliving God.
13 sondern ermahnt einander jeden Tag, solange es noch heißt: Heute, damit niemand von euch durch den Betrug der Sünde verhärtet wird;	13 Every day, as long as this today lasts, keep encouraging one another so that none of you is hardenedby the lure of sin,
14 denn an Christus haben wir nur Anteil, wenn wir bis zum Ende an der Zuversicht festhalten, die wir am Anfang hatten.	14 because we have been granted a share with Christ only if we keep the grasp of our first confidencefirm to the end.
15 Wenn es heißt:Heute, wenn ihr seine Stimme hört, verhärtet euer Herz nicht wie beim Aufruhr -	15 In this saying: If only you would listen to him today; do not harden your hearts, as at the Rebel ion,
16 wer waren denn jene, die hörten und sich auflehnten? Waren es nicht alle, die unter Mose aus Ägypten ausgezogen waren?	16 who was it who listened and then rebelled? Surely al those whom Moses led out of Egypt.
17 Wer war ihm vierzig Jahre lang zuwider? Nicht etwa die Sünder, deren Leichen in der Wüste liegen blieben?	17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Surely with those who sinned and whose dead bodiesfel in the desert.
18 Wem hat er geschworen, sie sollen nicht in das Land seiner Ruhe kommen, wenn nicht den Ungehorsamen?	18 To whom did he swear they would never enter his place of rest? Surely those who would not believe.
19 Und wir sehen, dass sie wegen ihres Unglaubens nicht hineinkommen konnten.	19 So we see that it was their refusal to believe which prevented them from entering.
