Deuteronomium 32

1 Hört zu, ihr Himmel, ich will reden, die Erde lausche meinen Worten.	1 “Listen, O heavens, to what I am saying. Let the earth hear the words of my mouth.
2 Meine Lehre wird strömen wie Regen, meine Botschaft wird fallen wie Tau, wie Regentropfen auf das Gras und wie Tauperlen auf die Pflanzen.	2 Let my doctrine accumulate like the rain. Let my eloquence form like the dew, like a mist upon the plants, and like water droplets upon the grass.
3 Ich will den Namen des Herrn verkünden. Preist die Größe unseres Gottes!	3 For I will invoke the name of the Lord. Acknowledge the magnificence of our God!
4 Er heißt: der Fels. Vollkommen ist, was er tut; denn alle seine Wege sind recht. Er ist ein unbeirrbar treuer Gott, er ist gerecht und gerade.	4 The works of God are perfect, and all his ways are judgments. God is faithful and without any iniquity. He is just and upright.
5 Ein falsches, verdrehtes Geschlecht fiel von ihm ab, Verkrüppelte, die nicht mehr seine Söhne sind.	5 They have sinned against him, and in their filth they are not his sons. They are a depraved and perverse generation.
6 Ist das euer Dank an den Herrn, du dummes, verblendetes Volk? Ist er nicht dein Vater, dein Schöpfer? Hat er dich nicht geformt und hingestellt?	6 How can this be the return you would offer to the Lord, O foolish and senseless people? Is he himself not your Father, who has possessed you, and made you, and created you?
7 Denk an die Tage der Vergangenheit, lerne aus den Jahren der Geschichte! Frag deinen Vater, er wird es dir erzählen, frag die Alten, sie werden es dir sagen.	7 Remember the days of antiquity. Consider each generation. Question your father, and he will declare it to you. Question your elders, and they will tell it to you.
8 Als der Höchste (den Göttern) die Völker übergab, als er die Menschheit aufteilte, legte er die Gebiete der Völker nach der Zahl der Götter fest;	8 When the Most High divided the nations, when he separated the sons of Adam, he appointed the limits of the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel.
9 der Herr nahm sich sein Volk als Anteil, Jakob wurde sein Erbland.	9 But the Lord’s portion is his people: Jacob, the lot of his inheritance.
10 Er fand ihn in der Steppe, in der Wüste, wo wildes Getier heult. Er hüllte ihn ein, gab auf ihn Acht und hütete ihn wie seinen Augenstern,	10 He discovered him in a desert land, in a place of horror and a vast wilderness. He led him around and taught him, and he guarded him like the pupil of his eye,
11 wie der Adler, der sein Nest beschützt und über seinen Jungen schwebt, der seine Schwingen ausbreitet, ein Junges ergreift und es flügelschlagend davonträgt.	11 just as an eagle encourages its young to fly, and, flying above them, stretches out its wings, and takes them up, and carries them on its shoulders.
12 Der Herr allein hat Jakob geleitet, kein fremder Gott stand ihm zur Seite.	12 The Lord alone was his leader, and there was no strange god with him.
13 Er führte ihn auf die Berge des Landes, er nährte ihn mit den Früchten des Feldes, er stillte ihn mit Wein aus den Felsen, mit Öl aus Felsspalten.	13 He stood him upon an exalted land, so that he might eat the fruits of the fields, so that he might eat honey from the rock, and oil from the hardest stone,
14 Mit Butter von Kühen, Milch von Schafen und Ziegen, dazu kam Fett von Lämmern, von Widdern aus Baschan und von Ziegenböcken, dazu Feinmehl aus Weizen. Das Blut der Trauben trankst du gegoren.	14 butter from the herd, and milk from the sheep, with fat from the lambs, and with rams and goats from the sons of Bashan, with the kernel of the wheat, and so that he might drink the undiluted blood of the grape.
15 Und Jakob aß und wurde satt, Jeschurun wurde fett und bockte. Ja, fett und voll und feist bist du geworden. Er stieß den Gott, der ihn geformt hatte, von sich und hielt den Fels für dumm, der ihn gerettet hatte.	15 The beloved grew fat, and he kicked. Having grown fat and thick and wide, he abandoned God, his Maker, and he withdrew from God, his Savior.
16 Sie weckten seine Eifersucht durch Fremde, durch gräuliche Wesen reizten sie ihn zum Zorn:	16 They provoked him with strange gods, and they stirred him to anger by their abominations.
17 Sie opferten Geistern, die keine Gottheiten sind, und Göttern, die sie früher nicht kannten, Neulingen, die erst vor kurzem gekommen waren, vor denen eure Väter sich nicht fürchteten.	17 They immolated to demons and not to God, to gods whom they did not know, who were new and recent arrivals, whom their fathers did not worship.
18 An den Fels, der dich gezeugt hat, dachtest du nicht mehr, du vergaßest den Gott, der dich geboren hat.	18 You have forsaken the God who conceived you, and you have forgotten the Lord who created you.
19 Da sah der Herr, dass er geschmäht wurde von seinen Söhnen und Töchtern, die seinen Zorn erregten.	19 The Lord saw, and he was stirred to anger. For his own sons and daughters provoked him.
20 Und er sagte: Ich will mein Gesicht vor ihnen verbergen und dann sehen, was in Zukunft mit ihnen geschieht. Denn sie sind eine Generation des Aufruhrs, Söhne, in denen die Untreue sitzt.	20 And he said: ‘I will hide my face from them, and I will consider their very end. For this is a perverse generation, and they are unfaithful sons.
21 Sie haben meine Eifersucht geweckt durch einen Gott, der kein Gott ist, mich zum Zorn gereizt durch ihre Götter aus Luft - so wecke ich ihre Eifersucht durch ein Volk, das kein Volk ist, durch ein dummes Volk reize ich sie zum Zorn.	21 They have provoked me with that which was not God, and they have angered me with their emptiness. And so, I will provoke them with that which is not a people, and I will anger them with a foolish nation.
22 In meiner Nase ist Feuer entbrannt. Es lodert bis in die unterste Totenwelt, verzehrt die Erde und was auf ihr wächst und schmilzt die Fundamente der Berge.	22 A fire has been kindled in my fury, and it will burn even to the deepest Hell, and it will devour the earth with its produce, and it will burn the foundations of the mountains.
23 Immer neue Not bürde ich ihnen auf, ich setze gegen sie alle meine Pfeile ein.	23 I will heap evils upon them, and I will expend my arrows among them.
24 Sie werden ausgemergelt durch den Hunger, verzehrt durch die Pest und die verheerende Seuche. Den Zahn der Raubtiere lasse ich auf sie los, dazu das Gift der im Staube Kriechenden.	24 They will be consumed by famine, and birds with a very bitter bite will devour them. I will send forth the teeth of wild beasts among them, along with the fury of creatures that scurry across the ground, and of serpents.
25 Auf der Straße raubt das Schwert die Kinder und in den Zimmern der Schrecken. Da stirbt der junge Mann und das Mädchen, der Säugling und der Greis.	25 Outside, the sword will devastate them; and inside, there will be dread, as much for the young man as for the maiden, and as much for the newborn as for the old man.
26 Ich könnte sagen: Sie sollen nicht mehr sein, kein Mensch soll später noch an sie denken,	26 I said: Where are they? I will cause their memory to cease from among men.
27 müsste ich nicht auch ihren Feind angreifen, der meinen Zorn erregt, ihre Gegner, die sich nicht täuschen sollen, die nicht sagen sollen: Unsere Hand ist erhoben, der Herr hat nichts von allem getan.	27 But because of the wrath of the enemies, I have delayed it. Otherwise, perhaps their enemies would be arrogant and would say: “Our exalted hand, and not the Lord, has done all these things.”
28 Doch diesem Volk fehlt es an Rat, ihm mangelt es an Verstand.	28 They are a nation without counsel and without prudence.
29 Wären sie klug, so begriffen sie alles und verstünden, was in Zukunft mit ihnen geschieht.	29 I wish that they would be wise and understanding, and would provide for the very end.’
30 Wie kann ein Einziger hinter tausend herjagen und zwei zehntausend in die Flucht schlagen, es sei denn, ihr Fels hat sie verkauft, der Herr hat sie preisgegeben?	30 How is it that one pursues a thousand, and two chases ten thousand? Is it not because their God has sold them, and because the Lord has enclosed them?
31 Doch der Fels unserer Feinde ist nicht wie unser Fels; das beweisen unsere Feinde.	31 For our God is not like their gods. And our enemies are judges.
32 Ihr Weinstock stammt von dem Weinstock Sodoms, vom Todesacker Gomorras. Ihre Trauben sind giftige Trauben und tragen bittere Beeren.	32 Their vines are of the vines of Sodom, but from the suburbs of Gomorrah. Their grapes are the grapes of gall, and their grape clusters are most bitter.
33 Ihr Wein ist Schlangengift und Gift von ekligen Ottern.	33 Their wine is the gall of snakes, and it is the incurable venom of asps.
34 Liegt dies nicht bei mir verborgen, in meinen Vorratskammern versiegelt	34 ‘Have not these things been stored up with me, and sealed up amid my treasures?
35 bis zum Tag der Strafe und Vergeltung, bis zu der Zeit, da ihr Fuß wanken wird? Doch der Tag ihres Verderbens ist nah und ihr Verhängnis kommt schnell. -	35 Vengeance is mine, and I will repay them in due time, so that their foot may slip and fall. The day of perdition is near, and the time rushes to appear.’
36 Ja, der Herr wird seinem Volk Recht geben und mit seinen Dienern Mitleid haben. Er wird sehen: Jede Hand ist ermüdet, es gibt nur noch Unterdrückte und Hilflose.	36 The Lord will judge his people, and he will take pity on his servants. He will see that their hand has been weakened, and that those who have been enclosed have likewise failed, and that those who have been left behind have been consumed.
37 Und er wird sagen: Wo sind ihre Götter? Wo ist der Fels, bei dem sie Schutz suchten?	37 And he shall say: ‘Where are their gods, in whom they had confidence?
38 Die das Fett ihrer Schlachtopfer essen, die den Wein ihrer Trankopfer trinken - die sollen vortreten und euch helfen. Dieser Fels soll ein Schutzdach über euch sein.	38 They ate the fat of their victims, and they drank the wine of their libations. So let these rise up, and bring relief to you, and protect you in your distress.
39 Jetzt seht: Ich bin es, nur ich, und kein Gott tritt mir entgegen. Ich bin es, der tötet und der lebendig macht. Ich habe verwundet; nur ich werde heilen. Niemand kann retten, wonach meine Hand gegriffen hat.	39 See that I am alone, and there is no other god beside me. I will kill, and I will cause to live. I will strike, and I will heal. And there is no one who is able to rescue from my hand.
40 Ich hebe meine Hand zum Himmel empor und sage: So wahr ich ewig lebe:	40 I will lift up my hand to heaven, and I will say: I live in eternity.
41 Habe ich erst die Klinge meines Schwertes geschliffen, um das Recht in meine Hand zu nehmen, dann zwinge ich meinen Gegnern die Strafe auf und denen, die mich hassen, die Vergeltung.	41 When I sharpen my sword like lightning, and my hand takes hold of judgment, then I will render vengeance to my enemies, and I will repay those who hate me.
42 Meine Pfeile mache ich trunken von Blut, während mein Schwert sich ins Fleisch frisst - trunken vom Blut Erschlagener und Gefangener, ins Fleisch des höchsten feindlichen Fürsten.	42 I will inebriate my arrows with blood, and my sword will devour flesh: from the blood of the slain and from the captive, from the exposed head of the enemies.’
43 Erhebt das Siegesgeschrei, ihr Himmel, zusammen mit ihm, werft euch vor ihm nieder, ihr Götter! Denn er erzwingt die Strafe für das Blut seiner Söhne und entsühnt das Land seines Volkes.	43 You nations, praise his people! For he will avenge the blood of his servants. And he will distribute vengeance to their enemies. And he will be merciful to the land of his people.”
44 Dann kam Mose zum Volk und trug ihm das Lied in seinem vollen Wortlaut vor, er und Josua, der Sohn Nuns.	44 Therefore, Moses went and spoke all the words of this canticle to the ears of the people, both he and Joshua, the son of Nun.
45 Als Mose damit zu Ende war, alle diese Worte vor ganz Israel vorzutragen,	45 And he completed all these words, speaking to all of Israel.
46 sagte er zu ihnen: Schenkt allen Bestimmungen eure Beachtung. Heute beschwöre ich euch: Verpflichtet eure Kinder, dass auch sie auf alle Bestimmungen dieser Weisung achten und sie halten.	46 And he said to them: “Set your hearts upon all the words which I am testifying to you this day. So shall you command your sons, to keep, and to do, and to fulfill all the things that have been written in this law.
47 Das ist kein leeres Wort, das ohne Bedeutung für euch wäre, sondern es ist euer Leben. Wenn ihr diesem Wort folgt, werdet ihr lange in dem Land leben, in das ihr jetzt über den Jordan hinüberzieht, um es in Besitz zu nehmen.	47 For these things have not been entrusted to you to no purpose, but so that each one would live by them, and so that, in doing these, you may continue for a long time in the land, which you will enter upon crossing the Jordan in order to possess it.”
48 Am selben Tag sagte der Herr zu Mose:	48 And the Lord spoke to Moses on the same day, saying:
49 Geh hinauf in das Gebirge Abarim, das du vor dir siehst, steig auf den Berg Nebo, der in Moab gegenüber Jericho liegt, und schau auf das Land Kanaan, das ich den Israeliten als Grundbesitz geben werde.	49 “Ascend this mountain, Abarim, (that is, of crossings) onto Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, opposite Jericho, and look upon the land of Canaan, which I will deliver to the sons of Israel to obtain it. And you shall die upon the mountain.
50 Dort auf dem Berg, den du ersteigst, sollst du sterben und sollst mit deinen Vorfahren vereint werden, wie dein Bruder Aaron auf dem Berg Hor gestorben ist und mit seinen Vorfahren vereint wurde.	50 After climbing it, you will be joined to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor, and was placed with his people.
51 Denn ihr seid mir untreu gewesen inmitten der Israeliten beim Haderwasser von Kadesch in der Wüste Zin und habt mich inmitten der Israeliten nicht als den Heiligen geehrt.	51 For you trespassed against me in the midst of the sons of Israel, at the Waters of Contradiction, in Kadesh, in the desert of Sin. And you did not sanctify me among the sons of Israel.
52 Du darfst das Land von der anderen Talseite aus sehen. Aber du darfst das Land, das ich den Israeliten geben werde, nicht betreten.	52 You shall see the land opposite you, which I will give to the sons of Israel, but you shall not enter into it.”
