Deuteronomium 12

1 Das sind die Gesetze und Rechtsvorschriften, auf die ihr achten und die ihr halten sollt in dem Land, das der Herr, der Gott deiner Väter, dir gegeben hat, damit du es in Besitz nimmst. Sie sollen so lange gelten, wie ihr in dem Land leben werdet.	1 "These are the statutes and decrees which you must be careful to observe in the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you to occupy, as long as you live on its soil.
2 Ihr sollt alle Kultstätten zerstören, an denen die Völker, deren Besitz ihr übernehmt, ihren Göttern gedient haben: auf den hohen Bergen, auf den Hügeln und unter jedem üppigen Baum.	2 Destroy without fail every place on the high mountains, on the hills, and under every leafy tree where the nations you are to dispossess worship their gods.
3 Ihr sollt ihre Altäre niederreißen und ihre Steinmale zerschlagen. Ihre Kultpfähle sollt ihr im Feuer verbrennen und die Bilder ihrer Götter umhauen. Ihre Namen sollt ihr an jeder solchen Stätte tilgen.	3 Tear down their altars, smash their sacred pillars, destroy by fire their sacred poles, and shatter the idols of their gods, that you may stamp out the remembrance of them in any such place.
4 Ihr sollt nicht das Gleiche tun (wie diese Völker), wenn ihr den Herrn, euren Gott, verehrt,	4 "That is not how you are to worship the LORD, your God.
5 sondern ihr sollt nach der Stätte fragen, die der Herr, euer Gott, aus allen euren Stammesgebieten auswählen wird, indem er dort seinen Namen anbringt. Nach seiner Wohnung sollt ihr fragen und dorthin sollst du ziehen.	5 Instead, you shall resort to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses out of all your tribes and designates as his dwelling
6 Dorthin sollt ihr eure Brandopfertiere und Schlachtopfertiere bringen, eure Zehnten und Handerhebungsopfer, was ihr dem Herrn gelobt habt und was ihr freiwillig gebt, und die Erstlinge eurer Rinder, Schafe und Ziegen.	6 and there you shall bring your holocausts and sacrifices, your tithes and personal contributions, your votive and freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and flocks.
7 Dort sollt ihr vor dem Herrn, eurem Gott, das Mahl halten. Ihr sollt fröhlich sein, ihr und eure Familien, aus Freude über alles, was eure Hände geschafft haben, weil der Herr, dein Gott, dich gesegnet hat.	7 There, too, before the LORD, your God, you and your families shall eat and make merry over all your undertakings, because the LORD, your God, has blessed you.
8 Ihr sollt nicht tun, was jeder Einzelne für richtig hält, wie es hier bei uns heute noch geschieht.	8 You shall not do as we are now doing; here, everyone does what seems right to himself,
9 Denn ihr seid bis jetzt nicht in die Ruhe und in den Erbbesitz eingezogen, die der Herr, dein Gott, dir gibt.	9 since you have not yet reached your resting place, the heritage which the LORD, your God, will give you.
10 Wenn ihr aber den Jordan überschritten habt und in dem Land wohnt, das der Herr, euer Gott, an euch als Erbbesitz verteilt, wenn er euch Ruhe vor allen euren Feinden ringsum verschafft hat und ihr in Sicherheit wohnt,	10 But after you have crossed the Jordan and dwell in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you as a heritage, when he has given you rest from all your enemies round about and you live there in security,
11 dann sollt ihr alles, wozu ich euch verpflichte, an die Stätte bringen, die der Herr, euer Gott, auswählt, indem er dort seinen Namen wohnen lässt: eure Brandopfertiere und Schlachtopfertiere, eure Zehnten und Handerhebungsopfer und alle eure auserlesenen Gaben, die ihr dem Herrn gelobt habt.	11 then to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses as the dwelling place for his name you shall bring all the offerings I command you: your holocausts and sacrifices, your tithes and personal contributions, and every special offering you have vowed to the LORD.
12 Dort sollt ihr vor dem Herrn, eurem Gott, fröhlich sein, ihr, eure Söhne und Töchter, eure Sklaven und Sklavinnen sowie die Leviten, die in euren Stadtbereichen Wohnrecht haben; denn der Levit hat nicht wie ihr Landanteil und Erbbesitz.	12 You shall make merry before the LORD, your God, with your sons and daughters, your male and female slaves, as well as with the Levite who belongs to your community but has no share of his own in your heritage.
13 Nimm dich in Acht! Verbrenn deine Brandopfertiere nicht an irgendeiner Stätte, die dir gerade vor die Augen kommt,	13 Take care not to offer up your holocausts in any place you fancy,
14 sondern nur an der Stätte, die der Herr im Gebiet eines deiner Stämme auswählt. Dort sollst du deine Brandopfertiere verbrennen und dort sollst du alles ausführen, wozu ich dich verpflichte.	14 but offer them up in the place which the LORD chooses from among your tribes; there you shall make whatever offerings I enjoin upon you.
15 Doch darfst du immer, wenn du es möchtest, und überall in deinen Stadtbereichen schlachten und Fleisch essen, so weit der Segen reicht, den dir der Herr, dein Gott, geschenkt hat. Jeder, der Reine wie der Unreine, darf davon essen, wie bei Gazelle und Damhirsch.	15 "However, in any of your communities you may slaughter and eat to your heart's desire as much meat as the LORD, your God, has blessed you with; and the unclean as well as the clean may eat it, as they do the gazelle or the deer.
16 Das Blut aber sollt ihr nicht genießen, sondern wie Wasser auf die Erde schütten.	16 Only, you shall not partake of the blood, but must pour it out on the ground like water.
17 Auch darfst du in deinen Stadtbereichen nicht den Zehnten von Korn, Wein und Öl verzehren, die Erstlinge von Rindern, Schafen und Ziegen, alle Gaben, die du dem Herrn gelobt hast, die freiwilligen Gaben und deine Handerhebungsopfer.	17 Moreover, you shall not, in your own communities, partake of your tithe of grain or wine or oil, of the first-born of your herd or flock, of any offering you have vowed, of your freewill offerings, or of your personal contributions.
18 Vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, sollst du sie verzehren, an der Stätte, die der Herr, dein Gott, auswählen wird - du, dein Sohn und deine Tochter, dein Sklave und deine Sklavin sowie die Leviten, die in deinen Stadtbereichen Wohnrecht haben -, und du sollst vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, fröhlich sein und dich freuen über alles, was deine Hände geschafft haben.	18 These you must eat before the LORD, your God, in the place he chooses, along with your son and daughter, your male and female slave, and the Levite who belongs to your community; and there, before the LORD, you shall make merry over all your undertakings.
19 Nimm dich in Acht, und lass die Leviten nicht im Stich, solange du im Land lebst.	19 Take care, also, that you do not neglect the Levite as long as you live in the land.
20 Wenn der Herr, dein Gott, dein Gebiet vergrößert, wie er es dir zugesagt hat, und du, weil du Appetit auf Fleisch hast, sagst: Ich möchte gern Fleisch essen, dann darfst du so viel Fleisch essen, wie du möchtest.	20 "After the LORD, your God, has enlarged your territory, as he promised you, when you wish meat for food, you may eat it at will, to your heart's desire;
21 Und wenn die Entfernung zu der Stätte, die der Herr, dein Gott, auswählen wird, indem er dort seinen Namen anbringt, zu groß ist, dann schlachte, so wie ich es dir erlaubt habe, Rinder, Schafe oder Ziegen, die der Herr dir geschenkt hat, und iss in deinen Stadtbereichen, so viel du möchtest.	21 and if the place which the LORD, your God, chooses for the abode of his name is too far, you may slaughter in the manner I have told you any of your herd or flock that the LORD has given you, and eat it to your heart's desire in your own community.
22 Auch sollst du davon essen, wie man von Gazelle und Damhirsch isst: Der Reine und der Unreine dürfen gemeinsam davon essen.	22 You may eat it as you would the gazelle or the deer: the unclean and the clean eating it alike.
23 Doch beherrsche dich und genieße kein Blut; denn Blut ist Lebenskraft und du sollst nicht zusammen mit dem Fleisch die Lebenskraft verzehren.	23 But make sure that you do not partake of the blood; for blood is life, and you shall not consume this seat of life with the flesh.
24 Du sollst es nicht genießen, sondern wie Wasser auf die Erde schütten.	24 Do not partake of the blood, therefore, but pour it out on the ground like water.
25 Du sollst es nicht genießen, damit es dir und später deinen Söhnen gut geht, weil du tust, was in den Augen des Herrn richtig ist.	25 Abstain from it, that you and your children after you may prosper for doing what is right in the sight of the LORD.
26 Die heiligen Abgaben jedoch, zu denen du verpflichtet bist, und die Gaben, die du selbst dem Herrn gelobt hast, sollst du aufladen und du sollst damit zu der Stätte ziehen, die der Herr auswählen wird.	26 However, any sacred gifts or votive offerings that you may have, you shall bring with you to the place which the LORD chooses,
27 Dort sollst du deine Brandopfertiere auf dem Altar des Herrn, deines Gottes, darbringen, das Fleisch und das Blut. Bei deinen Schlachtopfertieren soll das Blut auf den Altar des Herrn, deines Gottes, geschüttet werden, das Fleisch sollst du essen.	27 and there you must offer both the flesh and the blood of your holocausts on the altar of the LORD, your God; of your other sacrifices the blood indeed must be poured out against the altar of the LORD, your God, but their flesh may be eaten.
28 Achte und höre auf alle diese Worte, auf die ich dich verpflichte, damit es dir und später deinen Söhnen immer gut geht, weil du tust, was in den Augen des Herrn, deines Gottes, gut und richtig ist.	28 Be careful to heed all these commandments I enjoin on you, that you and your descendants may always prosper for doing what is good and right in the sight of the LORD, your God.
29 Wenn der Herr, dein Gott, die Völker, in deren Land du hineinziehst, um ihren Besitz zu übernehmen, vor dir niedergestreckt hat, wenn du ihren Besitz übernommen hast und dort wohnst,	29 "When the LORD, your God, removes the nations from your way as you advance to dispossess them, be on your guard! Otherwise, once they have been wiped out before you and you have replaced them and are settled in their land,
30 dann nimm dich in Acht! Lauf nicht hinter ihnen her in die Falle, nachdem sie bei deinem Angriff vernichtet worden sind. Erkundige dich nicht nach ihren Göttern und frag nicht: Wie dienen denn diese Völker ihren Göttern? Ich will das Gleiche tun wie sie.	30 you will be lured into following them. Do not inquire regarding their gods, 'How did these nations worship their gods? I, too, would do the same.'
31 Wenn du dem Herrn, deinem Gott, dienst, sollst du nicht das Gleiche tun wie sie; denn sie haben, wenn sie ihren Göttern dienten, alle Gräuel begangen, die der Herr hasst. Sie haben sogar ihre Söhne und Töchter im Feuer verbrannt, wenn sie ihren Göttern dienten.	31 You shall not thus worship the LORD, your God, because they offered to their gods every abomination that the LORD detests, even burning their sons and daughters to their gods.
