1 Er sagte zu seinen Jüngern: Es ist unvermeidlich, dass Verführungen kommen. Aber wehe dem, der sie verschuldet.	1 And he said to his disciples: It is impossible that scandals should not come: but woe to him through whom they come.
2 Es wäre besser für ihn, man würde ihn mit einem Mühlstein um den Hals ins Meer werfen, als dass er einen von diesen Kleinen zum Bösen verführt.	2 It were better for him, that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should scandalize one of these little ones.
3 aSeht euch vor! Wenn dein Bruder sündigt, weise ihn zurecht; und wenn er sich ändert, vergib ihm.	3 Take heed to yourselves. If thy brother sin against thee, reprove him: and if he do penance, forgive him.
4 Und wenn er sich siebenmal am Tag gegen dich versündigt und siebenmal wieder zu dir kommt und sagt: Ich will mich ändern!, so sollst du ihm vergeben.	4 And if he sin against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day be converted unto thee, saying, I repent; forgive him.
5 Die Apostel baten den Herrn: Stärke unseren Glauben!	5 And the apostles said to the Lord: Increase our faith.
6 Der Herr erwiderte: Wenn euer Glaube auch nur so groß wäre wie ein Senfkorn, würdet ihr zu dem Maulbeerbaum hier sagen: Heb dich samt deinen Wurzeln aus dem Boden und verpflanz dich ins Meer!, und er würde euch gehorchen.	6 And the Lord said: If you had faith like to a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this mulberry tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou transplanted into the sea: and it would obey you.
7 Wenn einer von euch einen Sklaven hat, der pflügt oder das Vieh hütet, wird er etwa zu ihm, wenn er vom Feld kommt, sagen: Nimm gleich Platz zum Essen?	7 But which of you having a servant ploughing, or feeding cattle, will say to him, when he is come from the field: Immediately go, sit down to meat:
8 Wird er nicht vielmehr zu ihm sagen: Mach mir etwas zu essen, gürte dich und bediene mich; wenn ich gegessen und getrunken habe, kannst auch du essen und trinken.	8 And will not rather say to him: Make ready my supper, and gird thyself, and serve me, whilst I eat and drink, and afterwards thou shalt eat and drink?
9 Bedankt er sich etwa bei dem Sklaven, weil er getan hat, was ihm befohlen wurde?	9 Doth he thank that servant, for doing the things which he commanded him?
10 So soll es auch bei euch sein: Wenn ihr alles getan habt, was euch befohlen wurde, sollt ihr sagen: Wir sind unnütze Sklaven; wir haben nur unsere Schuldigkeit getan.	10 I think not. So you also, when you shall have done all these things that are commanded you, say: We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which we ought to do.
11 Auf dem Weg nach Jerusalem zog Jesus durch das Grenzgebiet von Samarien und Galiläa.	11 And it came to pass, as he was going to Jerusalem, he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 Als er in ein Dorf hineingehen wollte, kamen ihm zehn Aussätzige entgegen. Sie blieben in der Ferne stehen	12 And as he entered into a certain town, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off;
13 und riefen: Jesus, Meister, hab Erbarmen mit uns!	13 And lifted up their voice, saying: Jesus, master, have mercy on us.
14 Als er sie sah, sagte er zu ihnen: Geht, zeigt euch den Priestern ! Und während sie zu den Priestern gingen, wurden sie rein.	14 Whom when he saw, he said: Go, shew yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass, as they went, they were made clean.
15 Einer von ihnen aber kehrte um, als er sah, dass er geheilt war; und er lobte Gott mit lauter Stimme.	15 And one of them, when he saw that he was made clean, went back, with a loud voice glorifying God.
16 Er warf sich vor den Füßen Jesu zu Boden und dankte ihm. Dieser Mann war aus Samarien.	16 And he fell on his face before his feet, giving thanks: and this was a Samaritan.
17 Da sagte Jesus: Es sind doch alle zehn rein geworden. Wo sind die übrigen neun?	17 And Jesus answering, said, Were not ten made clean? and where are the nine?
18 Ist denn keiner umgekehrt, um Gott zu ehren, außer diesem Fremden?	18 There is no one found to return and give glory to God, but this stranger.
19 Und er sagte zu ihm: Steh auf und geh! Dein Glaube hat dir geholfen.	19 And he said to him: Arise, go thy way; for thy faith hath made thee whole.
20 Als Jesus von den Pharisäern gefragt wurde, wann das Reich Gottes komme, antwortete er: Das Reich Gottes kommt nicht so, dass man es an äußeren Zeichen erkennen könnte.	20 And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come? he answered them, and said: The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Man kann auch nicht sagen: Seht, hier ist es!, oder: Dort ist es! Denn: Das Reich Gottes ist (schon) mitten unter euch.	21 Neither shall they say: Behold here, or behold there. For lo, the kingdom of God is within you.
22 Er sagte zu den Jüngern: Es wird eine Zeit kommen, in der ihr euch danach sehnt, auch nur einen von den Tagen des Menschensohnes zu erleben; aber ihr werdet ihn nicht erleben.	22 And he said to his disciples: The days will come, when you shall desire to see one day of the Son of man; and you shall not see it.
23 Und wenn man zu euch sagt: Dort ist er! Hier ist er!, so geht nicht hin und lauft nicht hinterher!	23 And they will say to you: See here, and see there. Go ye not after, nor follow them:
24 Denn wie der Blitz von einem Ende des Himmels bis zum andern leuchtet, so wird der Menschensohn an seinem Tag erscheinen.	24 For as the lightening that lighteneth from under heaven, shineth unto the parts that are under heaven, so shall the Son of man be in his day.
25 Vorher aber muss er vieles erleiden und von dieser Generation verworfen werden.	25 But first he must suffer many things, and be rejected by this generation.
26 Und wie es zur Zeit des Noach war, so wird es auch in den Tagen des Menschensohnes sein.	26 And as it came to pass in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 Die Menschen aßen und tranken und heirateten bis zu dem Tag, an dem Noach in die Arche ging; dann kam die Flut und vernichtete alle.	27 They did eat and drink, they married wives, and were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark: and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 Und es wird ebenso sein, wie es zur Zeit des Lot war: Sie aßen und tranken, kauften und verkauften, pflanzten und bauten.	28 Likewise as it came to pass, in the days of Lot: they did eat and drink, they bought and sold, they planted and built.
29 Aber an dem Tag, als Lot Sodom verließ, regnete es Feuer und Schwefel vom Himmel und alle kamen um.	29 And in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Ebenso wird es an dem Tag sein, an dem sich der Menschensohn offenbart.	30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man shall be revealed.
31 Wer dann auf dem Dach ist und seine Sachen im Haus hat, soll nicht hinabsteigen, um sie zu holen, und wer auf dem Feld ist, soll nicht zurückkehren.	31 In that hour, he that shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and he that shall be in the field, in like manner, let him not return back.
32 Denkt an die Frau des Lot!	32 Remember Lot's wife.
33 Wer sein Leben zu bewahren sucht, wird es verlieren; wer es dagegen verliert, wird es gewinnen.	33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose it, shall preserve it.
34 Ich sage euch: Von zwei Männern, die in jener Nacht auf einem Bett liegen, wird der eine mitgenommen und der andere zurückgelassen.	34 I say to you: in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Von zwei Frauen, die mit derselben Mühle Getreide mahlen, wird die eine mitgenommen und die andere zurückgelassen.	35 Two women shall be grinding together: the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left: two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be keft.
36 []	36 They answering, say to him: Where, Lord?
37 Da fragten sie ihn: Wo wird das geschehen, Herr? Er antwortete: Wo ein Aas ist, da sammeln sich auch die Geier.	37 Who said to them: Wheresoever the body shall be, thither will the eagles also be gathered together.
