1 Jesus begann zu ihnen (wieder) in Form von Gleichnissen zu reden. (Er sagte:) Ein Mann legte einen Weinberg an, zog ringsherum einen Zaun, hob eine Kelter aus und baute einen Turm. Dann verpachtete er den Weinberg an Winzer und reiste in ein anderes Land.	1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
2 Als nun die Zeit dafür gekommen war, schickte er einen Knecht zu den Winzern, um bei ihnen seinen Anteil an den Früchten des Weinbergs holen zu lassen.	2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
3 Sie aber packten und prügelten ihn und jagten ihn mit leeren Händen fort.	3 And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
4 Darauf schickte er einen anderen Knecht zu ihnen; auch ihn misshandelten und beschimpften sie.	4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
5 Als er einen dritten schickte, brachten sie ihn um. Ähnlich ging es vielen anderen; die einen wurden geprügelt, die andern umgebracht.	5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
6 Schließlich blieb ihm nur noch einer: sein geliebter Sohn. Ihn sandte er als letzten zu ihnen, denn er dachte: Vor meinem Sohn werden sie Achtung haben.	6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
7 Die Winzer aber sagten zueinander: Das ist der Erbe. Auf, wir wollen ihn töten, dann gehört sein Erbgut uns.	7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
8 Und sie packten ihn und brachten ihn um und warfen ihn aus dem Weinberg hinaus.	8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
9 Was wird nun der Besitzer des Weinbergs tun? Er wird kommen und die Winzer töten und den Weinberg anderen geben.	9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
10 Habt ihr nicht das Schriftwort gelesen: Der Stein, den die Bauleute verworfen haben, er ist zum Eckstein geworden;	10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
11 das hat der Herr vollbracht, vor unseren Augen geschah dieses Wunder?	11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
12 Daraufhin hätten sie Jesus gern verhaften lassen; aber sie fürchteten die Menge. Denn sie hatten gemerkt, dass er mit diesem Gleichnis sie meinte. Da ließen sie ihn stehen und gingen weg.	12 And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
13 Einige Pharisäer und einige Anhänger des Herodes wurden zu Jesus geschickt, um ihn mit einer Frage in eine Falle zu locken.	13 And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
14 Sie kamen zu ihm und sagten: Meister, wir wissen, dass du immer die Wahrheit sagst und dabei auf niemand Rücksicht nimmst; denn du siehst nicht auf die Person, sondern lehrst wirklich den Weg Gottes. Ist es erlaubt, dem Kaiser Steuer zu zahlen, oder nicht? Sollen wir sie zahlen oder nicht zahlen?	14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
15 Er aber durchschaute ihre Heuchelei und sagte zu ihnen: Warum stellt ihr mir eine Falle? Bringt mir einen Denar, ich will ihn sehen.	15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
16 Man brachte ihm einen. Da fragte er sie: Wessen Bild und Aufschrift ist das? Sie antworteten ihm: Des Kaisers.	16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.
17 Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: So gebt dem Kaiser, was dem Kaiser gehört, und Gott, was Gott gehört! Und sie waren sehr erstaunt über ihn.	17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.
18 Von den Sadduzäern, die behaupten, es gebe keine Auferstehung, kamen einige zu Jesus und fragten ihn:	18 Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
19 Meister, Mose hat uns vorgeschrieben: Wenn ein Mann, der einen Bruder hat, stirbt und eine Frau hinterlässt, aber kein Kind, dann soll sein Bruder die Frau heiraten und seinem Bruder Nachkommen verschaffen.	19 Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
20 Es lebten einmal sieben Brüder. Der erste nahm sich eine Frau, und als er starb, hinterließ er keine Nachkommen.	20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
21 Da nahm sie der zweite; auch er starb, ohne Nachkommen zu hinterlassen, und ebenso der dritte.	21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
22 Keiner der sieben hatte Nachkommen. Als letzte von allen starb die Frau.	22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.
23 Wessen Frau wird sie nun bei der Auferstehung sein? Alle sieben haben sie doch zur Frau gehabt.	23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
24 Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Ihr irrt euch, ihr kennt weder die Schrift noch die Macht Gottes.	24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
25 Wenn nämlich die Menschen von den Toten auferstehen, werden sie nicht mehr heiraten, sondern sie werden sein wie die Engel im Himmel.	25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
26 Dass aber die Toten auferstehen, habt ihr das nicht im Buch des Mose gelesen, in der Geschichte vom Dornbusch, in der Gott zu Mose spricht: Ich bin der Gott Abrahams, der Gott Isaaks und der Gott Jakobs?	26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27 Er ist doch nicht ein Gott von Toten, sondern von Lebenden. Ihr irrt euch sehr.	27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
28 Ein Schriftgelehrter hatte ihrem Streit zugehört; und da er bemerkt hatte, wie treffend Jesus ihnen antwortete, ging er zu ihm hin und fragte ihn: Welches Gebot ist das erste von allen?	28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
29 Jesus antwortete: Das erste ist: Höre, Israel, der Herr, unser Gott, ist der einzige Herr.	29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 Darum sollst du den Herrn, deinen Gott, lieben mit ganzem Herzen und ganzer Seele, mit all deinen Gedanken und all deiner Kraft.	30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 Als zweites kommt hinzu: Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst. Kein anderes Gebot ist größer als diese beiden.	31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
32 Da sagte der Schriftgelehrte zu ihm: Sehr gut, Meister! Ganz richtig hast du gesagt: Er allein ist der Herr, und es gibt keinen anderen außer ihm,	32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
33 und ihn mit ganzem Herzen, ganzem Verstand und ganzer Kraft zu lieben und den Nächsten zu lieben wie sich selbst, ist weit mehr als alle Brandopfer und anderen Opfer.	33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
34 Jesus sah, dass er mit Verständnis geantwortet hatte, und sagte zu ihm: Du bist nicht fern vom Reich Gottes. Und keiner wagte mehr, Jesus eine Frage zu stellen.	34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
35 Als Jesus im Tempel lehrte, sagte er: Wie können die Schriftgelehrten behaupten, der Messias sei der Sohn Davids?	35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?
36 Denn David hat, vom Heiligen Geist erfüllt, selbst gesagt: Der Herr sprach zu meinem Herrn: Setze dich mir zur Rechten und ich lege dir deine Feinde unter die Füße.	36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
37 aDavid selbst also nennt ihn «Herr». Wie kann er dann Davids Sohn sein? Es war eine große Menschenmenge versammelt und hörte ihm mit Freude zu.	37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.
38 Er lehrte sie und sagte: Nehmt euch in Acht vor den Schriftgelehrten! Sie gehen gern in langen Gewändern umher, lieben es, wenn man sie auf den Straßen und Plätzen grüßt,	38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,
39 und sie wollen in der Synagoge die vordersten Sitze und bei jedem Festmahl die Ehrenplätze haben.	39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
40 Sie bringen die Witwen um ihre Häuser und verrichten in ihrer Scheinheiligkeit lange Gebete. Aber um so härter wird das Urteil sein, das sie erwartet.	40 Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.
41 Als Jesus einmal dem Opferkasten gegenübersaß, sah er zu, wie die Leute Geld in den Kasten warfen. Viele Reiche kamen und gaben viel.	41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 Da kam auch eine arme Witwe und warf zwei kleine Münzen hinein.	42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 Er rief seine Jünger zu sich und sagte: Amen, ich sage euch: Diese arme Witwe hat mehr in den Opferkasten hineingeworfen als alle andern.	43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44 Denn sie alle haben nur etwas von ihrem Überfluss hergegeben; diese Frau aber, die kaum das Nötigste zum Leben hat, sie hat alles gegeben, was sie besaß, ihren ganzen Lebensunterhalt.	44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
