1 Danach blickte ich hin und sah: Da waren vier Hörner.	1 I raised my eyes and looked; there were four horns.
2 Ich fragte den Engel, der mit mir redete: Was bedeuten diese Hörner? Er antwortete mir: Das sind die vier Hörner, die Juda, Israel und Jerusalem zerstreut haben.	2 Then I asked the angel who spoke with me what these were. He answered me, "These are the horns that scattered Judah and Israeland Jerusalem."
3 Darauf ließ mich der Herr vier Schmiede sehen.	3 Then the LORD showed me four blacksmiths. And I asked, "What are these coming to do?"
4 Ich fragte: Wozu sind sie da? Was sollen sie tun? Und er antwortete: Die Hörner haben Juda zerstreut, sodass kein Mensch mehr sein Haupt erhob; die Schmiede aber sind gekommen, um sie zu erschrecken und die Hörner aller Völker niederzuwerfen, die ihre Macht gegen Juda aufgeboten haben, um es zu zerstreuen.	4 And he said, "Here are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no man raised his head any more; but these have come to terrify them: to cast down the horns of the nations that raised their horns to scatter the land of Judah."
5 Danach blickte ich hin und sah: Da war ein Mann mit einer Messschnur in der Hand.	5 Again I raised my eyes and looked: there was a man with a measuring line in his hand.
6 Ich fragte: Wohin gehst du? Er antwortete mir: Ich gehe, um Jerusalem auszumessen und zu sehen, wie breit und wie lang es sein wird.	6 "Where are you going?" I asked. "To measure Jerusalem," he answered; "to see how great is its width and how great its length."
7 Da trat der Engel, der mit mir redete, vor und ein anderer Engel kam ihm entgegen	7 Then the angel who spoke with me advanced, and another angel came out to meet him,
8 und sagte zu ihm: Lauf und sag dem jungen Mann dort: Jerusalem wird eine offene Stadt sein wegen der vielen Menschen und Tiere, die darin wohnen.	8 and said to him, "Run, tell this to that young man: People will live in Jerusalem as though in open country, because of the multitude of men and beasts in her midst.
9 Ich selbst - Spruch des Herrn - werde für die Stadt ringsum eine Mauer von Feuer sein und in ihrem Innern ihr Ruhm und ihre Ehre.	9 But I will be for her an encircling wall of fire, says the LORD, and I will be the glory in her midst."
10 Auf, auf! Flieht aus dem Land des Nordens - Spruch des Herrn. Denn wie die vier Winde des Himmels habe ich euch zerstreut - Spruch des Herrn.	10 Up, up! Flee from the land of the north, says the LORD; for I scatter you to the four winds of heaven, says the LORD.
11 Auf, Zion, die du in Babel wohnst, rette dich!	11 Up, escape to Zion! you who dwell in daughter Babylon.
12 Denn so spricht der Herr der Heere - er hat mich mit Herrlichkeit zu den Völkern gesandt, die euch ausgeplündert haben -: Wer euch antastet, tastet meinen Augapfel an.	12 For thus said the LORD of hosts (after he had already sent me) concerning the nations that have plundered you: Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye.
13 Ja, jetzt hole ich mit meiner Hand zum Schlag gegen sie aus, sodass sie eine Beute ihrer eigenen Knechte werden. Und ihr werdet erkennen, dass der Herr der Heere mich gesandt hat.	13 See, I wave my hand over them; they become plunder for their slaves. Thus you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me.
14 Juble und freue dich, Tochter Zion; denn siehe, ich komme und wohne in deiner Mitte - Spruch des Herrn.	14 Sing and rejoice, O daughter Zion! See, I am coming to dwell among you, says the LORD.
15 An jenem Tag werden sich viele Völker dem Herrn anschließen und sie werden mein Volk sein und ich werde in deiner Mitte wohnen. Dann wirst du erkennen, dass der Herr der Heere mich zu dir gesandt hat.	15 Many nations shall join themselves to the LORD on that day, and they shall be his people, and he will dwell among you, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.
16 Der Herr aber wird Juda in Besitz nehmen; es wird sein Anteil im Heiligen Land sein. Und er wird Jerusalem wieder auserwählen.	16 The LORD will possess Judah as his portion of the holy land, and he will again choose Jerusalem.
17 Alle Welt schweige in der Gegenwart des Herrn. Denn er tritt hervor aus seiner heiligen Wohnung.	17 Silence, all mankind, in the presence of the LORD! for he stirs forth from his holy dwelling.
