1 Der Herr sprach zu Mose:	1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Befiehl den Israeliten, jeden aus dem Lager zu schicken, der an Aussatz oder an einem Ausfluss leidet, und jeden, der sich an einer Leiche verunreinigt hat.	2 Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:
3 Ob Mann oder Frau, schickt sie weg, weist sie aus dem Lager hinaus! Sie sollen nicht das Lager unrein machen, in dem ich mitten unter ihnen wohne.	3 Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell.
4 Die Israeliten taten, was der Herr gesagt hatte, und schickten sie aus dem Lager. Wie der Herr es Mose gesagt hatte, so machten sie es.	4 And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as the LORD spake unto Moses, so did the children of Israel.
5 Der Herr sprach zu Mose:	5 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
6 Sag zu den Israeliten: Wenn ein Mann oder eine Frau etwas, was dem Herrn gehört, veruntreut hat, also eine von den Sünden begangen hat, wie sie bei Menschen vorkommen, dann ist dieser Mensch schuldig geworden.	6 Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be guilty;
7 Sie sollen die Sünde, die sie begangen haben, bekennen und der Schuldige soll das, was er schuldet, voll ersetzen und dem, an dem er schuldig geworden ist, noch ein Fünftel dazugeben.	7 Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.
8 Wenn aber der Anspruchsberechtigte keinen Löser hat, dem der Schuldige Ersatz leisten könnte, dann gehört der geschuldete Betrag dem Herrn zugunsten des Priesters, ebenso wie der Sühnewidder, mit dem der Priester für ihn die Sühne erwirkt.	8 But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass unto, let the trespass be recompensed unto the LORD, even to the priest; beside the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him.
9 Dem Priester gehören auch alle Weihegeschenke, die die Israeliten zu ihm bringen.	9 And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring unto the priest, shall be his.
10 Jeder kann selbst bestimmen, was er als Weihegeschenk geben will; was er aber dem Priester gibt, gehört dem Priester.	10 And every man's hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man giveth the priest, it shall be his.
11 Der Herr sprach zu Mose:	11 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
12 Rede zu den Israeliten und sag ihnen: Angenommen, eine Frau gerät auf Abwege, sie wird ihrem Mann untreu,	12 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him,
13 und ein anderer Mann schläft mit ihr, ohne dass es ihr Mann merkt, angenommen also, sie ist unrein geworden, ohne dass es entdeckt wird, und es gibt keine Zeugen, weil sie nicht ertappt worden ist,	13 And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against her, neither she be taken with the manner;
14 der Mann aber schöpft Verdacht und wird eifersüchtig auf seine Frau, die wirklich unrein geworden ist; angenommen aber auch, er schöpft Verdacht und wird auf seine Frau eifersüchtig, obwohl sie in Wirklichkeit nicht unrein geworden ist:	14 And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled:
15 In einem solchen Fall soll der Mann seine Frau zum Priester bringen und soll zugleich die für sie vorgesehene Opfergabe mitbringen: ein zehntel Efa Gerstenmehl. Er darf kein Öl darauf gießen und keinen Weihrauch darauf streuen; denn es ist ein Eifersuchtsopfer, ein Opfer zur Ermittlung der Schuld.	15 Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
16 Der Priester führt die Frau hinein und stellt sie vor den Herrn.	16 And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD:
17 Er nimmt heiliges Wasser in einem Tongefäß; dann nimmt er etwas Staub vom Fußboden der Wohnstätte und streut ihn in das Wasser.	17 And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water:
18 Dann stellt der Priester die Frau vor den Herrn, löst ihr Haar und legt ihr das Ermittlungsopfer, das heißt das Eifersuchtsopfer, in die Hände; der Priester aber hält das bittere, fluchbringende Wasser in der Hand.	18 And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse:
19 Dann beschwört der Priester die Frau und sagt zu ihr: Wenn kein Mann mit dir geschlafen hat, wenn du deinem Mann nicht untreu gewesen, also nicht unrein geworden bist, dann wird sich deine Unschuld durch dieses bittere, fluchbringende Wasser erweisen.	19 And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse:
20 Wenn du aber deinem Mann untreu gewesen, wenn du unrein geworden bist und wenn ein anderer als dein eigener Mann mit dir geschlafen hat -	20 But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband:
21 und nun soll der Priester die Frau mit einem Fluch beschwören und zu ihr sprechen -, dann wird der Herr dich zum sprichwörtlichen Beispiel für einen Fluch und Schwur in deinem Volk machen. Der Herr wird deine Hüften einfallen und deinen Bauch anschwellen lassen.	21 Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell;
22 Dieses fluchbringende Wasser wird in deine Eingeweide eindringen, sodass dein Bauch anschwillt und deine Hüften einfallen. Darauf soll die Frau antworten: Amen, amen.	22 And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen.
23 Der Priester aber schreibt diese Flüche auf und wischt die Schrift sodann in das bittere Wasser.	23 And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out with the bitter water:
24 Dann gibt er der Frau das bittere, fluchbringende Wasser zu trinken, damit dieses Fluchwasser in sie eindringt und ihr bittere Schmerzen bereitet.	24 And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter.
25 Der Priester nimmt aus der Hand der Frau das Eifersuchtsopfer, schwingt die Opfergabe vor dem Herrn hin und her und bringt sie so dar; dann legt er sie auf den Altar.	25 Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the altar:
26 Der Priester nimmt von der Opfergabe eine Hand voll als Gedächtnisanteil weg und lässt ihn auf dem Altar in Rauch aufgehen. Dann erst lässt er die Frau das Wasser trinken.	26 And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the water.
27 Sobald er sie das Wasser hat trinken lassen, wird das fluchbringende Wasser in sie eindringen und bittere Schmerzen bewirken, falls sie unrein und ihrem Mann untreu geworden ist: Es wird ihren Bauch anschwellen und ihre Hüften einfallen lassen, sodass die Frau in ihrem Volk zum sprichwörtlichen Beispiel für einen Fluch wird.	27 And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.
28 Wenn sie aber nicht unrein geworden, sondern rein ist, dann wird sich zeigen, dass sie unschuldig ist, und sie kann weiterhin Kinder bekommen.	28 And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.
29 Das ist das Eifersuchtsgesetz für den Fall, dass eine Frau ihren Mann betrügt und unrein geworden ist	29 This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another instead of her husband, and is defiled;
30 oder dass ein Mann gegen seine Frau Verdacht schöpft, auf sie eifersüchtig wird und sie vor den Herrn treten lässt. Wenn der Priester dieses Gesetz auf sie anwendet,	30 Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.
31 dann ist der Mann von Schuld frei, die Frau aber muss die Folgen ihrer Schuld tragen.	31 Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear her iniquity.
