EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Der Herr sprach zu Mose:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
2 Erkläre alle Erstgeburt als mir geheiligt! Alles, was bei den Israeliten den Mutterschoß durchbricht, bei Mensch und Vieh, gehört mir.	2 'Consecrate al the first-born to me, the first birth from every womb, among the Israelites. Whetherman or beast, it is mine.'
3 Mose sagte zum Volk: Denkt an diesen Tag, an dem ihr aus Ägypten, dem Sklavenhaus, fortgezogen seid; denn mit starker Hand hat euch der Herr von dort herausgeführt. Nichts Gesäuertes soll man essen.	3 Moses said to the people, 'Remember this day, on which you came out of Egypt, from the place ofslave-labour, for by the strength of his hand Yahweh brought you out of it; no leavened bread may be eaten.
4 Heute im Monat Abib seid ihr weggezogen.	4 On this day, in the month of Abib, you are leaving,
5 Wenn dich der Herr in das Land der Kanaaniter, Hetiter, Amoriter, Hiwiter und Jebusiter geführt hat - er hat deinen Vätern mit einem Eid zugesichert, dir das Land zu geben, wo Milch und Honig fließen -, begeh die Feier in diesem Monat!	5 and when Yahweh has brought you into the country of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, theHivites and the Jebusites, flowing with milk and honey, which he swore to your ancestors that he would give you,then you must observe this rite in the same month.
6 Sieben Tage sollst du ungesäuerte Brote essen, am siebten Tag ist ein Fest zur Ehre des Herrn.	6 For seven days you wil eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there must be a feast inYahweh's honour.
7 Ungesäuerte Brote soll man sieben Tage lang essen. Nichts Gesäuertes soll man bei dir sehen und kein Sauerteig soll in deinem ganzen Gebiet zu finden sein.	7 During these seven days unleavened bread may be eaten; no leavened bread may be seen amongyou, no leaven among you throughout your territory.
8 An diesem Tag erzähl deinem Sohn: Das geschieht für das, was der Herr an mir getan hat, als ich aus Ägypten auszog.	8 And on that day you wil explain to your son, "This is because of what Yahweh did for me when I cameout of Egypt."
9 Es sei dir ein Zeichen an der Hand und ein Erinnerungsmal an der Stirn, damit das Gesetz des Herrn in deinem Mund sei. Denn mit starker Hand hat dich der Herr aus Ägypten herausgeführt.	9 This will serve as a sign on your hand would serve, or a reminder on your forehead, and in that waythe law of Yahweh will be ever on your lips: for with a mighty hand Yahweh brought you out of Egypt.
10 Halte dich an diese Regel, Jahr für Jahr, zur festgesetzten Zeit!	10 You shal observe this law at its appointed time, year by year.
11 Der Herr wird dich in das Land der Kanaaniter bringen und wird es dir geben, wie er dir und deinen Vätern mit einem Eid zugesichert hat.	11 'When Yahweh has brought you into the Canaanites' country, as he swore to you and your ancestorsthat he would, and given it to you,
12 Dann musst du alles, was den Mutterschoß durchbricht, vor den Herrn bringen; alle männlichen Erstlinge, die dein Vieh wirft, gehören dem Herrn.	12 to Yahweh you must make over whatever first issues from the womb, and every first-born cast byanimals belonging to you: these males belong to Yahweh.
13 Jeden Erstling vom Esel aber löse durch ein Schaf aus! Willst du ihn nicht auslösen, dann brich ihm das Genick! Jeden Erstgeborenen deiner Söhne musst du auslösen.	13 But every first-born donkey you wil redeem with a lamb or kid; if you do not redeem it, you mustbreak its neck. Al the human first-born, however, among your sons, you wil redeem.
14 Wenn dich morgen dein Sohn fragt: Was bedeutet das?, dann sag ihm: Mit starker Hand hat uns der Herr aus Ägypten, aus dem Sklavenhaus, herausgeführt.	14 And when your son asks you in days to come, "What does this mean?" you wil tel him, "By thestrength of his hand Yahweh brought us out of Egypt, out of the place of slave-labour.
15 Als der Pharao hart blieb und uns nicht ziehen ließ, erschlug der Herr alle Erstgeborenen in Ägypten, bei Mensch und Vieh. Darum opfere ich dem Herrn alle männlichen Tiere, die den Mutterschoß durchbrechen; alle Erstgeborenen meiner Söhne aber löse ich aus.	15 When Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, Yahweh killed all the first-born in Egypt, of man andbeast alike. This is why I sacrifice every male first issuing from the womb to Yahweh and redeem every first-bornof my sons."
16 Das sei dir ein Zeichen an deiner Hand und ein Schmuck auf deiner Stirn; denn mit starker Hand hat uns der Herr aus Ägypten herausgeführt.	16 This wil serve as a sign on your hand would serve, or a headband on your forehead, for by thestrength of his hand Yahweh brought us out of Egypt.'
17 Als der Pharao das Volk ziehen ließ, führte sie Gott nicht den Weg ins Philisterland, obwohl er der kürzere war. Denn Gott sagte: Die Leute könnten es sonst, wenn sie Krieg erleben, bereuen und nach Ägypten zurückkehren wollen.	17 When Pharaoh had let the people go, God did not let them take the road to the Philistines' territory,although that was the shortest, 'in case', God thought, 'the prospect of fighting makes the people change theirminds and turn back to Egypt.'
18 So ließ sie Gott einen Umweg machen, der durch die Wüste zum Schilfmeer führte. Geordnet zogen die Israeliten aus Ägypten hinauf.	18 Instead, God led the people a roundabout way through the desert of the Sea of Reeds. The Israelitesleft Egypt ful y armed.
19 Mose nahm die Gebeine Josefs mit; denn dieser hatte die Söhne Israels beschworen: Wenn Gott sich euer annimmt, dann nehmt meine Gebeine von hier mit hinauf!	19 Moses took with him the bones of Joseph, since Joseph had put the Israelites on solemn oath withthe words, 'It is sure that God will visit you,' he had said, 'and when that day comes you must take my bonesaway from here with you.'
20 Sie brachen von Sukkot auf und schlugen ihr Lager in Etam am Rand der Wüste auf.	20 They set out from Succoth and encamped at Etham, on the edge of the desert.
21 Der Herr zog vor ihnen her, bei Tag in einer Wolkensäule, um ihnen den Weg zu zeigen, bei Nacht in einer Feuersäule, um ihnen zu leuchten. So konnten sie Tag und Nacht unterwegs sein.	21 Yahweh preceded them, by day in a pil ar of cloud to show them the way, and by night in a pil ar offire to give them light, so that they could march by day and by night.
22 Die Wolkensäule wich bei Tag nicht von der Spitze des Volkes und die Feuersäule nicht bei Nacht.	22 The pil ar of cloud never left its place ahead of the people during the day, nor the pil ar of fire duringthe night.
