Esra 10

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Während Esra vor dem Haus Gottes auf den Knien lag und weinend sein Gebet und sein Bekenntnis sprach, versammelte sich um ihn eine sehr große Gemeinde von Männern, Frauen und Kindern aus Israel. Auch das Volk vergoss viele Tränen.	1 Now when Esdras was thus praying, and beseeching, and weeping, and lying before the temple of God, there was gathered to him of Israel an exceeding great assembly of men and women and children, and the people wept with much lamentation.
2 Schechanja, der Sohn Jehiëls, einer der Nachkommen Elams, nahm das Wort und sagte zu Esra: Ja, wir haben unserem Gott die Treue gebrochen; wir haben fremde Frauen aus der Bevölkerung des Landes geheiratet. Doch auch jetzt gibt es noch Hoffnung für Israel:	2 And Sechenias the son of Jehiel of the sons of Elam answered, and said to Esdras: We have sinned against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: and now if there be repentance in Israel concerning this,
3 Wir wollen jetzt mit unserem Gott einen Bund schließen und uns verpflichten, dass wir alle fremden Frauen samt ihren Kindern wegschicken nach dem Rat meines Herrn und aller, die das Gebot unseres Gottes fürchten. Man handle nach dem Gesetz.	3 Let us make a covenant with the Lord our God, to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the will of the Lord, and of them that fear the commandment of the Lord our God: let it be done according to the law.
4 Steh auf! Denn dir obliegt die Sache. Wir aber stehen dir bei. Fass Mut und handle!	4 Arise, it is thy part to give orders, and we will be with thee: take courage, and do it.
5 Da stand Esra auf; er ließ die Obersten der Priester, der Leviten und ganz Israels schwören, nach diesem Vorschlag zu handeln, und sie leisteten den Eid.	5 So Esdras arose, and made the chiefs of the priests and of the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word, and they swore.
6 Dann verließ Esra den Platz vor dem Haus Gottes und ging in die Kammer Johanans, des Sohnes Eljaschibs. Dort verbrachte er die Nacht, aß aber kein Brot und trank kein Wasser; denn er trauerte über den Treubruch der Heimkehrer.	6 And Esdras rose up from before the house of God, and went to the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliasib, and entered in thither: he ate no bread, and drank no water: for he mourned for the transgression of them that were come out of the captivity.
7 Dann machte man in Juda und Jerusalem allen Heimkehrern bekannt, sie sollten sich in Jerusalem versammeln.	7 And proclamation was made in Juda and Jerusalem to all the children of the captivity, that they should assemble together into Jerusalem.
8 Jeder, der nicht binnen drei Tagen komme, wie es die Vorsteher und Ältesten beschlossen hätten, dessen ganzer Besitz solle der Vernichtung anheim fallen und er selbst solle aus der Gemeinde der Heimkehrer ausgeschlossen werden.	8 And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the ancients, all his substance should be taken away, and he should be cast out of the company of them that were returned from captivity.
9 Da versammelten sich nach drei Tagen alle Männer von Juda und Benjamin in Jerusalem; es war am zwanzigsten Tag des neunten Monats. Das ganze Volk ließ sich auf dem Platz vor dem Haus Gottes nieder. Alle zitterten wegen der Sache, um die es ging, aber auch wegen des Regens, der niederging.	9 Then all the men of Juda, and Benjamin gathered themselves together to Jerusalem within three days, in the ninth month, the twentieth day of the month: and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of the sin, and the rain.
10 Der Priester Esra stand auf und sagte zu ihnen: Ihr habt dem Herrn die Treue gebrochen; ihr habt fremde Frauen genommen und so die Schuld Israels noch größer gemacht.	10 And Esdras the priest stood up, and said to them: You have transgressed, and taken strange wives, to add to the sine of Israel.
11 So legt nun vor dem Herrn, dem Gott eurer Väter, ein Bekenntnis ab und tut, was er wünscht: Trennt euch von der Bevölkerung des Landes, insbesondere von den fremden Frauen!	11 And now make confession to the Lord the God of your fathers, and do his pleasure, and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from your strange wives.
12 Darauf antwortete die ganze Gemeinde laut: Alles, was du uns gesagt hast, müssen wir tun.	12 And all the multitude answered and said with a loud voice: According to thy word unto us, so be it done.
13 Aber es sind viele Menschen und es ist Regenzeit; da kann man nicht im Freien bleiben und die Angelegenheit ist nicht an einem oder zwei Tagen abzumachen. Denn viele von uns haben sich in dieser Sache verfehlt.	13 But as the people are many, and it is time of rain, and me are not able to stand without, and it is not a work of one day or two, (for we have exceedingly sinned in this matter,)
14 Unsere Vorsteher sollen darum die ganze Gemeinde vertreten. Alle, die in unseren Städten fremde Frauen geheiratet haben, sollen dann zu festgesetzten Zeiten herkommen, dazu die Ältesten und Richter jeder einzelnen Stadt, bis wir den Zorn unseres Gottes, der wegen dieser Sache entbrannt ist, von uns abgewendet haben.	14 Let rulers be appointed in all the multitude: and in all our cities, let them that have taken strange wives come at the times appointed, and with them the ancients and the judges of every city, until the wrath of our God be turned away from us for this sin.
15 Nur Jonatan, der Sohn Asaëls, und Jachseja, der Sohn Tikwas, sprachen gegen diesen Vorschlag; Meschullam und der Levit Schabbetai unterstützten sie.	15 Then Jonathan the son of Azahel, and Jaasia the son of Thecua were appointed over this, and Mesollam and Sebethai, Levites, helped them:
16 Die Heimkehrer machten es aber so, wie vorgeschlagen worden war. Der Priester Esra wählte Männer aus, für jede Großfamilie ein Familienoberhaupt; alle wurden mit Namen aufgerufen. Am ersten Tag des zehnten Monats traten sie zusammen, um die Sache zu untersuchen,	16 And the children of the captivity did so. And Esdras the priest, and the men heads of the families in the houses of their fathers, and all by their names, went and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
17 und am ersten Tag des ersten Monats waren sie fertig mit den Fällen aller Männer, die fremde Frauen geheiratet hatten.	17 And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.
18 Unter den Priestern fand man folgende, die fremde Frauen geheiratet hatten: Von den Nachkommen Jeschuas, des Sohnes des Jozadak, und seinen Brüdern: Maaseja, Eliëser, Jarib und Gedalja.	18 And there were found among the sons of the priests that had taken strange wives: Of the sons of Josue the son of Josedec, and his brethren, Maasia, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Godolia.
19 Sie gaben die Hand darauf, ihre Frauen wegzuschicken, und brachten für ihre Schuld einen Widder als Schuldopfer dar.	19 And they gave their hands to put away their wives, and to offer for their offence a ram of the flock.
20 Von den Nachkommen Immers fand man schuldig: Hanani und Sebadja;	20 And of the sons of Emmer, Hanani, and Zebedia.
21 von den Nachkommen Harims: Maaseja, Elija, Schemaja, Jehiël und Usija;	21 And of the sons of Harim, Maasia, and Elia, and Semeia, and Jehiel, and Ozias.
22 von den Nachkommen Paschhurs: Eljoënai, Maaseja, Jischmael, Netanel, Josabad und Elasa.	22 And of the sons of Pheshur, Elioenai, Maasia, Ismael, Nathanael, Jozabed, and Elasa.
23 Von den Leviten: Josabad, Schimi, Kelaja, das ist Kelita, Petachja, Juda und Eliëser.	23 And of the sons of the Levites, Jozabed, and Semei, and Celaia, the same is Calita, Phataia, Juda, and Eliezer.
24 Von den Sängern: Eljaschib. Von den Torwächtern: Schallum, Telem und Uri.	24 And of the singing men, Elisiab: and of the porters, Sellum, and Telem, and
25 Unter den Israeliten von den Nachkommen des Parosch: Ramja, Jisija, Malkija, Mijamin, Eleasar, Malkija und Benaja;	25 And of Israel, of the sons of Pharos, Remeia, and Jezia, and Melchia, and Miamin, and Eliezer, and Melchia, and Banea.
26 von den Nachkommen Elams: Mattanja, Secharja, Jehiël, Abdi, Jeremot und Elija;	26 And of the sons of Elam, Mathania, Zacharias, annd Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jerimoth, and Elia.
27 von den Nachkommen Sattus: Eljoënai, Eljaschib, Mattanja, Jeremot, Sabad und Asisa;	27 And of the sons of Zethua, Elioenai, Eliasib, Mathania, Jerimuth, and Zabad, and Aziaza.
28 von den Nachkommen Bebais: Johanan, Hananja, Sabbai und Atlai;	28 And of the sons of Babai, Johanan, Hanania, Zabbai, Athalai:
29 von den Nachkommen Banis: Meschullam, Malluch, Adaja, Jaschub, Scheal und Jeremot;	29 And of the sons of Bani, Mosollam, and Melluch, and Adaia, Jasub, and Seal, and Ramoth.
30 von den Nachkommen des Pahat-Moab: Adna, Kelal, Benaja, Maaseja, Mattanja, Bezalel, Binnui und Manasse;	30 And of the sons of Phahath, Moab, Edna, and Chalal, Banaias, and Maasias, Mathanias, Beseleel, Bennui, and Manasse.
31 von den Nachkommen Harims: Eliëser, Jischija, Malkija, Schemaja, Simeon,	31 And of the sons of Herem, Eliezer, Josue, Melchias, Semeias, Simeon,
32 Benjamin, Malluch und Schemarja;	32 Benjamin, Maloch, Samarias.
33 von den Nachkommen Haschums: Mattenai, Mattatta, Sabad, Elifelet, Jeremai, Manasse und Schimi;	33 And of the sons of Hasom, Mathanai, Mathatha, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jermai, Manasse, Semei.
34 von den Nachkommen Bigwais: Maadai, Amram, Uël,	34 Of the sons of Bani, Maaddi, Amran, and Uel,
35 Benaja, Bedja, Keluhi,	35 Baneas, and Badaias, Cheliau,
36 Wanja, Meremot, Eljaschib,	36 Vania, Marimuth, and Eliasib,
37 Mattanja, Mattenai und Jaasai;	37 Mathanias, Mathania, and Jasi,
38 von den Nachkommen Binnuis: Schimi,	38 And Bani, and Bennui, Semei,
39 Schelemja, Natan und Adaja;	39 And Salmias, and Nathan, and Adaias,
40 von den Nachkommen Sakkais: Schaschai, Scharai,	40 And Mechnedebai, Sisai, Sarai,
41 Asarel, Schelemja, Schemarja,	41 Ezrel, and Selemiau, Semeria,
42 Schallum, Amarja und Josef;	42 Sellum, Amaria, Joseph.
43 von den Nachkommen Nebos: Jëiël, Mattitja, Sabad, Sebina, Jaddai, Joël und Benaja.	43 Of the sons of Nebo, Jehiel, Mathathias, Zabad, Zabina, Jeddu, and Joel, and Banaia.
44 Alle diese hatten fremde Frauen geheiratet; sie trennten sich nun von ihren Frauen, auch wenn sie von ihnen Kinder hatten.	44 All these had taken strange wives, and there were among them women that had borne children.
