1 Die Söhne Judas waren: Perez, Hezron, Kaleb, Hur und Schobal.	1 The descendants of Judah were: Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.
2 Reaja, der Sohn Schobals, zeugte Jahat und Jahat zeugte Ahumai und Lahad. Das waren die Sippen der Zoraïter.	2 Reaiah, the son of Shobal, became the father of Jahath, and Jahath became the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the clans of the Zorathites.

9 Jabez war angesehener als seine Brüder. Seine Mutter hatte ihn Jabez genannt, denn sie sagte: Ich habe ihn unter Beschwerden geboren.	9 Jabez was the most distinguished of the brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, "I bore him with pain."
10 Doch Jabez rief zum Gott Israels und sprach: Möchtest du mich segnen und mein Gebiet erweitern. Möchte deine Hand mit mir sein, dass du mich freimachst von Unheil und ich ohne Beschwerden bleibe. Und Gott erfüllte seine Bitte.	10 Jabez prayed to the God of Israel: "Oh, that you may truly bless me and extend my boundaries! Help me and make me free of misfortune, without pain!" And God granted his prayer.
11 Kelub, der Bruder Schuhas, zeugte Mehir, den Vater Eschtons.	11 Chelub, the brother of Shuhah, became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

17 Die Söhne Esras waren: Jeter, Mered, Efer und Jalon. They pronounced against them the ban that is still in force and dwelt in their place because they found pasture there for their flocks.
