1 Die Söhne Judas waren: Perez, Hezron, Kaleb, Hur und Schobal.	1 The sons of Juda: Phares, Hesron, and Charmi, and Hur, and Sobal.

10 Doch Jabez rief zum Gott Israels und sprach: Möchtest du mich segnen und mein Gebiet erweitern. Möchte deine Hand mit mir sein, dass du mich freimachst von Unheil und ich ohne Beschwerden bleibe. Und Gott erfüllte seine Bitte.	10 And Jabes called upon the God of Israel, saying: If blessing thou wilt bless me, and wilt enlarge my borders, and thy hand be with me, and thou save me from being oppressed by evil. And God granted him the things he prayed for.
11 Kelub, der Bruder Schuhas, zeugte Mehir, den Vater Eschtons.	11 And Caleb the brother of Sua beget Mahir, who was the father of Esthon.

16 Die Söhne Jehallelels waren: Sif, Sifa, Tirja und Asarel.	16 The sons also of Jaleleel: Ziph, and Zipha, Thiria, and Asrael.
17 Die Söhne Esras waren: Jeter, Mered, Efer und Jalon. (Bitja, die ägyptische Frau Mereds,) gebar Mirjam, Schammai und Jischbach, den Vater von Eschtemoa.	17 And the sons of Esra, Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon, and he beget Mariam, and Sammai, and Jesba the father of Esthamo.
18 Seine judäische Frau gebar: Jered, den Vater von Gedor, Heber, den Vater von Socho, und Jekutiël, den Vater von Sanoach. 31 Bet-Markabot, Hazar-Susim, Bet-Biri und Schaarajim. Das waren ihre Städte mit den dazugehörenden Gehöften, bis David König wurde,	31 And in Bethmarchaboth, and in Hasarsusim, and in Bethberai, and in Saarim. These were their cities unto the reign of David.

33 mit all ihren Gehöften im Umkreis dieser Städte bis nach Baal hin. Das waren ihre Wohnsitze und sie hatten ihre eigenen Stammeslisten.	33 And all their villages round about these cities as far as Baal. This was their habitation, and the distribution of their dwellings.
34 Meschobab, Jamlech, Joscha, der Sohn Amazjas,	34 And Mosabab and Jemlech, and Josa, the son of Amasias,
35 Joël, Jehu, der Sohn Joschibjas, des Sohnes Serajas, des Sohnes Asiëls,	35 And Joel, and Jehu the son of Josabia the son of Saraia, the son of Asiel,
36 Eljoënai, Jaakoba, Jeschohaja, Asaja, Adiël, Jesimiël, Benaja,	36 And Elioenai, and Jacoba, and Isuhaia, and Asaia, and Adiel, and Ismiel, and Banaia,

38 Diese namentlich Genannten waren führende Männer in ihren Sippenverbänden. Ihre Großfamilien hatten sich stark vermehrt.	38 These were named princes in their kindreds, and in the houses of their families were multiplied exceedingly.
39 Daher zogen sie, um Weideplätze für ihre Schafe und Ziegen zu suchen, zum Osten des Tals, wo der Weg nach Gedor abzweigt.	39 And they went forth to enter into Gador as far as to the east side of the valley, to seek pastures for their flocks.
40 Sie fanden fette und gute Weideplätze. Das Land war nach allen Seiten hin ausgedehnt, ruhig und friedlich; denn die früheren Bewohner gehörten zu den Hamiten.	40 And they found fat pastures, and very good, and a country spacious, and quiet, and fruitful, in which some of the race of Cham had dwelt before.
41 So kamen diese mit Namen Aufgezeichneten in den Tagen des Königs Hiskija von Juda, zerstörten ihre Zelte und erschlugen die Mëuniter, die sich dort fanden. Sie weihten sie für immer dem Untergang und ließen sich an ihrer Stelle nieder; denn es gab dort Weideplätze für ihre Schafe und Ziegen.	41 And these whose names are written above, came in the days of Ezechias king of Juda: and they beat down their tents, and slew the inhabitants that were found there, and utterly destroyed them unto this day: and they dwelt in their place, because they found there fat pastures.
42 Von den Nachkommen Simeons zogen fünfhundert Mann in das Gebirge Seïr. Pelatja, Nearja, Refaja und Usiël, die Söhne Jischis, standen an ihrer Spitze.	42 Some also of the children of Simeon, five hundred men, went into mount Seir, having for their captains Phaltias and Naaria and Raphaia and Oziel the sons of Jesi:
43 Sie schlugen die Restbevölkerung, die von den Amalekitern noch vorhanden war, und wohnen dort bis zum heutigen Tag.	43 And they slew the remnant of the Amalecites, who had been able to escape, and they dwelt there in their stead unto this day.
