Genesis 6

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Als sich die Menschen über die Erde hin zu vermehren begannen und ihnen Töchter geboren wurden,	1 When people began being numerous on earth, and daughters had been born to them,
2 sahen die Gottessöhne, wie schön die Menschentöchter waren, und sie nahmen sich von ihnen Frauen, wie es ihnen gefiel.	2 the sons of God, looking at the women, saw how beautiful they were and married as many of them asthey chose.
3 Da sprach der Herr: Mein Geist soll nicht für immer im Menschen bleiben, weil er auch Fleisch ist; daher soll seine Lebenszeit hundertzwanzig Jahre betragen.	3 Yahweh said, 'My spirit cannot be indefinitely responsible for human beings, who are only flesh; let thetime al owed each be a hundred and twenty years.'
4 In jenen Tagen gab es auf der Erde die Riesen, und auch später noch, nachdem sich die Gottessöhne mit den Menschentöchtern eingelassen und diese ihnen Kinder geboren hatten. Das sind die Helden der Vorzeit, die berühmten Männer.	4 The Nephilim were on earth in those days (and even afterwards) when the sons of God resorted to thewomen, and had children by them. These were the heroes of days gone by, men of renown.
5 Der Herr sah, dass auf der Erde die Schlechtigkeit des Menschen zunahm und dass alles Sinnen und Trachten seines Herzens immer nur böse war.	5 Yahweh saw that human wickedness was great on earth and that human hearts contrived nothing butwicked schemes al day long.
6 Da reute es den Herrn, auf der Erde den Menschen gemacht zu haben, und es tat seinem Herzen weh.	6 Yahweh regretted having made human beings on earth and was grieved at heart.
7 Der Herr sagte: Ich will den Menschen, den ich erschaffen habe, vom Erdboden vertilgen, mit ihm auch das Vieh, die Kriechtiere und die Vögel des Himmels, denn es reut mich, sie gemacht zu haben.	7 And Yahweh said, 'I shal rid the surface of the earth of the human beings whom I created -- humanand animal, the creeping things and the birds of heaven -- for I regret having made them.'
8 Nur Noach fand Gnade in den Augen des Herrn.	8 But Noah won Yahweh's favour.
9 Das ist die Geschlechterfolge nach Noach: Noach war ein gerechter, untadeliger Mann unter seinen Zeitgenossen; er ging seinen Weg mit Gott.	9 This is the story of Noah: Noah was a good man, an upright man among his contemporaries, and hewalked with God.
10 Noach zeugte drei Söhne, Sem, Ham und Jafet.	10 Noah fathered three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth.
11 Die Erde aber war in Gottes Augen verdorben, sie war voller Gewalttat.	11 God saw that the earth was corrupt and ful of lawlessness.
12 Gott sah sich die Erde an: Sie war verdorben, denn alle Wesen aus Fleisch auf der Erde lebten verdorben.	12 God looked at the earth: it was corrupt, for corrupt were the ways of al living things on earth.
13 Da sprach Gott zu Noach: Ich sehe, das Ende aller Wesen aus Fleisch ist da; denn durch sie ist die Erde voller Gewalttat. Nun will ich sie zugleich mit der Erde verderben.	13 God said to Noah, 'I have decided that the end has come for al living things, for the earth is full oflawlessness because of human beings. So I am now about to destroy them and the earth.
14 Mach dir eine Arche aus Zypressenholz! Statte sie mit Kammern aus, und dichte sie innen und außen mit Pech ab!	14 Make yourself an ark out of resinous wood. Make it of reeds and caulk it with pitch inside and out.
15 So sollst du die Arche bauen: Dreihundert Ellen lang, fünfzig Ellen breit und dreißig Ellen hoch soll sie sein.	15 This is how to make it: the length of the ark is to be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, andits height thirty cubits.
16 Mach der Arche ein Dach und hebe es genau um eine Elle nach oben an! Den Eingang der Arche bring an der Seite an! Richte ein unteres, ein zweites und ein drittes Stockwerk ein!	16 Make a roof to the ark, building it up to a cubit higher. Put the entrance in the side of the ark, which isto be made with lower, second and third decks.
17 Ich will nämlich die Flut über die Erde bringen, um alle Wesen aus Fleisch unter dem Himmel, alles, was Lebensgeist in sich hat, zu verderben. Alles auf Erden soll verenden.	17 'For my part I am going to send the flood, the waters, on earth, to destroy al living things having thebreath of life under heaven; everything on earth is to perish.
18 Mit dir aber schließe ich meinen Bund. Geh in die Arche, du, deine Söhne, deine Frau und die Frauen deiner Söhne!	18 But with you I shal establish my covenant and you wil go aboard the ark, yourself, your sons, yourwife, and your sons' wives along with you.
19 Von allem, was lebt, von allen Wesen aus Fleisch, führe je zwei in die Arche, damit sie mit dir am Leben bleiben; je ein Männchen und ein Weibchen sollen es sein.	19 From al living creatures, from al living things, you must take two of each kind aboard the ark, to savetheir lives with yours; they must be a male and a female.
20 Von allen Arten der Vögel, von allen Arten des Viehs, von allen Arten der Kriechtiere auf dem Erdboden sollen je zwei zu dir kommen, damit sie am Leben bleiben.	20 Of every species of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that creeps along theground, two must go with you so that their lives may be saved.
21 Nimm dir von allem Essbaren mit und leg dir einen Vorrat an! Dir und ihnen soll es zur Nahrung dienen.	21 For your part, provide yourself with eatables of al kinds, and lay in a store of them, to serve as foodfor yourself and them.'
22 Noach tat alles genau so, wie ihm Gott aufgetragen hatte.	22 Noah did this; exactly as God commanded him, he did.
